[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103447] Issues when working with URLs in Calc
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103447 --- Comment #6 from Aron Budea--- Created attachment 128231 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=128231=edit Sample spreadsheet with a URL, see comment 6 on how to use it to reproduce some of the issues All the details that are needed are in this bug report, though it might not be clear without knowing that the original bug report was about URL recognition. The mentioned sample text ("40V, 200mA, h=100@1V,10mA") contains a "@", which causes "100@1V" to be recognized as a URL when it's entered. This report is not about the URL recognition itself, but about some issues when it comes to working with cells containing URLs. For the 1st issue you have to type the text in, or copy/paste and trigger autocorrect with a space in the appropriate position. For issues 2-4 you can use the text with the recognized URL, but to make it easier, I'm attaching it in a file as well. Based on the attachment: 2. Switch to A2, then back to A1 using the keyboard. Note how the Input line shows the URL as a URL (like the cell). Now do the same using the mouse (select A2, then A1). Note how the Input line shows the URL as plain text. 3. When it shows the URL as plain text in the Input line, select part of the URL there, for example "00@1V". The cell shows the selection incorrectly ("0mA" for me in this case). 4. Interestingly, right now I can't reproduce this (eg. using autocomplete to enter the same entry in another cell does produce the link inside). I doubt it's fixed, but I don't want to spend too much time on this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Re: testing commonsallayout branch
Hi, I think the daily builds would be the better as they should have any new fixes: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ To enable the new layout you need to set SAL_USE_COMMON_LAYOUT environment variable, to disable it you need to unset the variable (setting it to 0 will NOT disable it as the code just check the presence of the variable not its value). [Libreoffice-qa] Better organization of bugs with meta bugs
Hi All, With the ability to only set the component field to classify bugs to a very basic level, i believe that meta bugs should be used to further classify things and provide a needed means of grouping bugs. The keywords and whiteboard fields have been useful for developers to hunt down bugs they want to work on, but QA users not aware of these tags wont set them, which means that some bugs wont appear in such searches. The 'see also' field has been used to group similar bugs together, but how closely related these bugs are isnt defined with this association and having a large list of bugs in the see also area is a clutter. With the usage of meta bugs, the QA team will be able to 1) Easily group related bugs under a clear meta bug heading, like for a language group, GSoC project, vcl backend, dialog, etc. examples https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83066 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85184 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102495 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103238 2) Easily find duplicate bugs of a particular topic by only searching through the bugs in a particular meta bug, which can easily be done with bugzilla's search or by clicking on the 'show dependency tree' link found on the meta bug page and then clicking on the 'show resolved' button on the dependency tree page to show close bugs. examples https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=99671_resolved=0 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=88278_resolved=0 3) Organize bugs not only under one main meta bug, but also have sub-meta bugs and sub-sub-meta bugs to provide an hierarchically organized structure to the bugs. example https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102019 |- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94551 |- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103223 |- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34551 4) Notifying other users CCed on a meta bug of a related bug that they can possibly triage and fix. Meta bugs have also helped developers in providing a central place for them to find all the related bugs of a particular topic they want to work on, as creating a new keyword or whiteboard tag for this grouping isnt efficient. examples https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81234 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91063 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91310 So i encourage all users to associate meta bugs to bug reports they submit and triage and create a new meta bug if a suitable one isnt available and they have seen enough similar bugs of a similar topic. Adding an alias for the meta bug is also encouraged, as it will appear on the page of associated bugs rather than the bug number. For a list of all available meta bugs, you can find the "Meta bugs" search query[1] listed in the "Saved Searches" tab[2] of Preferences in Bugzilla. I've created many meta bugs over the last few months and would appreciate everyones help in making them as complete as possible. I have just finished cleaning up the sidebar meta bug[3] over the last 2 days, as it had over 150 bugs associated with it, and plan to continue further organizing its sub-meta bugs into sub-sub-meta bugs when necessary. As you should have seen from the email, we are rewriting the text layout engine to be cross-platform and to solve tens of real bugs people have been reporting, there is no way we are going to postpone this just to keep supporting obsolete technology. You can always choose to not upgrade, or use different software or whatever. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89246] German umlaute characters ( Ää Öö Üü) missing in exported PDF if text uses substituted font
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89246 --- Comment #26 from Yury--- (In reply to Khaled Hosny from comment #25) > > The fonts issue: I've bought a disk with type 1 fonts in 1997 -- how is it > > "obsolete", please? > > They don’t support Unicode, they are limited to 256 characters/glyphs, they > don’t support complex scripts. Even Adobe stopped making them for a decade > and half now. I feel that's a very wrong approach, somehow on par, BTW, with "snubbing" the word 2003 import/export issues. Let's not have an argument, just one thought, though: so those fonts can't "do" those fancy things. They still have the glyphs for which they were bought, however. Or do they? > You can convert Type 1 fonts to OpenType using freely available tools, like > makeotf from AFDKO (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/opentype/afdko.html) and as > a bonus this bug with be “magically” fixed. Or open/export in FontForge. That's not the point. That sort of pruning of "obsolete"/"unneeded" features (while bloating the deliverables simultaneously, somehow) does the product no good. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90237] Considerable loss of formatting of presentation created with PowerPoint
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90237 --- Comment #13 from Rogério Brito--- Hi, people. I sincerely don't know what else to provide as information about this problem. The steps that I follow are simply: 1 - download the first document that I attached (which I labeled as "Document before changes in LibreOffice") 2 - open it with Impress 3 - just save as with another name 4 - click that you want to keep it in Microsoft's format <--- this is a critical step 5 - close the original document 6 - open the copy that you saved as You will see that a lot of things have changed. Fortunately, I discovered this before I had people complaining at me. To be more precise, I don't know how to dump the data structures that libreoffice read from the original document (while things were in memory) and dump what those data structures contain right before they hit the disc. I note here that a step that is important to give me the loss of formatting that I'm seeing is telling LibreOffice to keep the document in Microsoft's pptx format (step 4). For completeness, I am using Debian's version 1:5.2.2~rc2-2 on an amd64 computer, but I have seen this bug since before I reported it. Please, *do* help me get a better bugreport, since the issue is so macro that I don't know how to break it into smaller pieces.
