[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128803] Copy / pasting text in Calc sometimes pastes as an image

Note that when copy/paste is failing, some more icons are automatically added
into the top taskbar, and then are removed when the graphic objet is deleted

Can confirm this suspected 'mutter' bad effect on calc 6.3.3 and mutter 3.34.1:

-happen with a calc spreadsheet when trying to copy/paste a formula cell:
 1) from a column's cell, right click to copy it
 2) select the first same column's cell to paste: get a graphic created (kind
of image with 4 cells which are draggable and extendable) instead of the normal
pasting result.
 3) deleting that graphic objet, then re-copying the original cell, finally the
pasting is done as expected.

This has been seen for each copy/paste since calc 6.3.3 upgrade, not prior.

Also note that now LO is unable to load/open an ods file : after the Nov 11th
upgrades; Does not get error from a terminal.
Only get a dialog box telling calc has silently crashed and will then try to
recover the ods file: but there is no file listed to recover.
Indeed that ods file load/open as usual with version prior to Focal.

I don't see a problematic issue here until a better solution for all headings
is shown. For so many headings it's very hard to have a unique look for each to
ensure that every heading level is self-explanatory to the user. Therefore I
think it's okay as it is now.

But enhancements always are welcome to make LibreOffice a better software.

Issue remains. And, if anything triggering of accessible events for a11y of the
NB has gotten worse.

Controls of the Notebookbar UI do not respond with accessible events. F10, F6
cycling is spotty. And there are keyboard navigation traps moving between
control groupings. While no movement on bug 107343, leave a11y dependent users
with no way to restore Main menu bar and its sounding keyboard navigation.

The Contextual single Notebookbar mode can not be reached with keyboard only
navigation.

In short--it is not suitable to task and really needs dev attention.

Bug ID: 128830
Summary: FILEOPEN: text box rotated, saved as .doc .docx, is
corrupted when file is reopened
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thomkenn...@hotmail.com

Description:
Case 1. Rotated text box when saved as .docx file and then reopened is
corrupted: Textbox is still rotated as when saved but text has separated and
appears as unrotated.
Case 2. Rotated text box when saved as .doc file and then reopened is
completely missing both box and text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert textbox
2. Type text in textbox
3. Right-click, select Position and Size, type rotation angle, OK
4. Save file as .docx (or .doc)
5. Close file
6. Open file

Actual Results:
Case 1. When .docx is opened, textbox is still rotated but text is horizontal
through center of box. Rotated box will resize if additional horizontal text is
added.
Case 2. When .doc is opened, textbox and text are both missing (or somehow
invisible).

Expected Results:
Rotated text box containing rotated text should appear as it was when saved.

Reproducible: Always

Dear himajin10,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

Dear Martijn,

The text in question is liberation sans narrow & AHRONI. the LSN card playing
card symbols (club diamond heart & spade) are not rotated. the white #'s within
a colored solid circle from the symbol or wingdings fonts are not rotated. the
purpose of rotation is to fold between 2 counter rotated tables creating the
equivalent of a conference table name card which is legible from any direction.
The non existent 180 degree rotation would have simplified the problem. PS I'm
not sure which version of 6.4 I'm using & am using it only because I was unable
to install recent versions of 6.3. I have no clue as to the meaning of opengl.

Shape rather than Chart Background to show issue

This is not a chart bug. Neither Quadratic nor Square not map 1-to-1 to MSO's
Rectangular gradient. See Bug 98595.

Our gradient system needs a major overhaul to achieve compatibility with MSO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128825] New: Commands Arrange - In Front of Object and Behind Object work contrary to the meaning of their description

2019-11-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128825

Bug ID: 128825
Summary: Commands Arrange - In Front of Object and Behind
Object work contrary to the meaning of their
description
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gerhard.we...@t-online.de

- create a Draw document
- insert two drawing objects, which intersect
- select both, and choose context menu -> Arrange -> Behind Object
- Moving the mouse over the objects will highlight one object
- clicking on the object which lies before the other one will do nothing
- clicking on the object which lies behind the other one will bring this object
forward
The action performed therefore is contrary to the meaning of the menu text.
The same applies to the second command in question, namely In Front of Object.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128824] New: Style list loses multi selection on right click

2019-11-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128824

Bug ID: 128824
Summary: Style list loses multi selection on right click
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rayk...@gmail.com

Multiple selection is possible when style list is other than Hierarchical.
Right mouse button click to activate context menu unselects multiple selection.

Steps to repro:

1) Open Writer
2) Open Styles Manager with F11 or Menu>Styles>Manage Files
3) Select any filter other than Hierarchical from the filter drop down
4) Select mutiple styles with shift left mouse click or shift up/down arrow
5) Right click on any of the selected styles

Results: multiple selection is lost and context menu is displayed

Expected behavior: multiple selection remains and context menu is displayed

Additional information: Commit c554afd565ea515decd483a9068f6590c5316dce changed
this behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128823] New: LibreOffice Writer crash while viewing spelling suggestions

2019-11-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128823

Bug ID: 128823
Summary: LibreOffice Writer crash while viewing spelling
suggestions
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dcnew...@gmail.com

Description:
If a word is misspelled in a writer document AND I right-click on that word,
AND my computer is not connected to the internet, the application stops
responding and eventually crashes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Disconnect from internet
2.Open writer document with misspelled word
3.Right-click on that word

Actual Results:
Cursor disappears, application becomes unresponsive. Windows alerts me that the
program is unresponsive and asks if I want to close the program or wait. After
closing the application and opening it again, LibreOffice prompts me with a
document recovery window. If I recover the document it is exactly as it was
before the crash.

Expected Results:
Display right-click menu without spelling suggestions. I'm assuming the
suggestions are received from a server that is unavailable when not connected
to the internet, and right clicking while disconnected is what is causing the
crash.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Love the application suite, keep up the good work! Thank you!!

confusing table-view and numbering

I retested behavior of auto-numbering in Form-View with table-view ON and found
it confusing.

1. Auto-numbering delivers numbers, that can be overwriten in any view (5==>10
etc) whereas the vieworder is accordingly to the internal record-number.
If this is ment as a feature (what it should not be), this needs to be stated
somewhere

2. the table within the table-view seems to be not well connected to FB-table
in the background. Attached you can find some experiments using the
copy-function. the shown results are unpredictable/confusing - however, when
closing and reopening the form-view, the results are now as expected.

Since the neccessity of close/reopen is a no-go, this is a regression.

tdf#128710 Qt5 don't force immediate paint on show

I tried to build a minimal reproducer with QMainWindow and a
QDialog and miserably failed. All variants of show, hide, modal
change, move, resize, processEvents(QEventLoop::AllEvents) just
worked. I was able to produce "qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB
error: 3 (BadWindow) ... major code: 18 (ChangeProperty)" entries
in my ~/.xsession-errors, but that didn't matter for my program.

Then I started to comment code blocks in Qt5Frame and after that
continued in Qt5Widget, found that ShowEvent produced a modal
window, albeit with an obviously missing paint event. But that is
fixable by just queuing one in LO.

I tried to debug that broken behaviour to find the real cause of
the bug, but as I already knew from commit e770bacc85a0 ("Qt5
workaround modal change after show bug"), this bug has some timing
related component, so that sadly didn't result in any conclusion.

well, I make money selling M$O too.

In my own office, I use Word Pro under Wine to print envelopes. It has not
been supported for what, 15 years now, and it still runs circles around LO's
envelope printing. And Word Pro does division tabs, which you won't support
either (bug 33173). That bug request is years old as well. And you have
division tabs in calc, so there is really no excuse.

Please jump on this an fix it as soon as possible. An office suite MUST print
envelopes properly to even start to be useful in an office/business situation.

Smart Suite (Word Pro) is now a free download. Check out how slick envelope
printing is, especially highlighting an address, like in your letter head,
before creating an envelope:

https://archive.org/details/LotusSmartSuite99

This bug is HOW MANY YEARS OLD? Not to complain, but GUYS! You are
shooting yourself in the foot ! Who want to use an office suite THAT
CAN'T PRINT AN ENVELOPE

Other than that, love you guys. Keep up the good work.

now 6.3.3.2 x64 - still valid problem ... it's getting quite annoying...

maybe it's about the installation-path (like "calibre"): it's filed under
C:\Büro (german for "office"). could it be the umlaut "ü"?

and could you raise the importance-level, please? thank you.
