[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108813] FILEOPEN pdf import creates unwanted rectangles

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108813

--- Comment #12 from georg.weick...@ibedelmann.de ---
Bug ist still present in Version: 7.4.6.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5b1f5509c2decdade7fda905e3e1429a67acd63d
CPU threads: 20; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

Importing as an image leads to poorer image quality - therefore a functioning
PDF import with vectors as the result would be desirable. Changes to the
content are not most important - rather additions.

I could not repro. I think this is WFM by now, but considering prior comments,
I don't want to set it to WFM unless someone else that already reproduced this
in the past can confirm that it is working as expected in the same context (OS,
precise steps, locale, decimal separator, file format, UI language...).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154978] New: Crash when closing a document in Writer/Impress with the message "Soffice closed unexpectedly" on kde

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154978

Bug ID: 154978
Summary: Crash when closing a document in Writer/Impress with
the message "Soffice closed unexpectedly" on kde
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: agap...@hotmail.com

I have been having crashes when closing a Writer/Impress document (not tested
with calc) that says "SOffice Crashed Unexpectedly". Other than that LO works
normally. I am using archlinux with kde. This issue has persisted across LO and
kernel versions.

PC Specs:
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 6.2.11-arch1-1
DE: Plasma 5.27.4
CPU: Intel i7-10750H (12) @ 5.000GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile
Memory: 17875MiB / 23903MiB

This error has started occuring after installing the addon LanguageTools for
spell check. However, the developers of the extension have not been able to
solve the issue.
The github thread can be followed here:
https://github.com/languagetool-org/languagetool/issues/7827

Here is the output I get from EventViewer in KDE:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154958] Why does Format | Paragraph | Proportional default to 6% ?

Created attachment 186872

Screenshot after purge, reinstall from LibreOffice.org, and profile reset

I did the following:

sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*
sudo shutdown -r now

cd .../DEBS

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
sudo shutdown -r now

Then I opened LO and found that my recent documents were still showing. I did a
full factory reset and reopened LO. I immediately went to Format | Paragraph
and this is what I found.

Apparently the 6% is hiding somewhere.

Dear Dennis Van Dusen,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Dear Telesto,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

The
degree of curvature is defined by a tension parameter. The curve has no sharp

Python script to fix odf files with missing resolution data

Thank you Mike Kaganski for your minimal reproducer. It helped me write a
python script that analyzes and "fixes" odp files containing png images without
resolution data (see attached).

The script was able to successfully fix the problems I previously had with
cropped images in odf files.

The script treats the odp file as a zip file and checks all files contained in
the zip file. If it finds png files without resolution data, it adds resolution
data and writes the resulting files to a new zip/odp file.

Currently, the script assumes a resolution of 96 dpi. You would need to change
that (in line 31 of the script) if your images have a different resolution.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154604] Navigator should support listing objects in front-to-back rather than back-to-front order

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Demo of option to display objects in Navigator list in back to front or front
to back z order

This enhancement request prompted revisit to a patch done for bug 145359 which
produces incorrect z order. While correcting that bug a possible solution for
the enhancement request here developed.

Attached is a demo of a two button radio button group added to the Show Shapes
drop down menu having buttons 'Front to back' and 'Back to front' used to
display shape/group entries in the Navigator objects list in front-to-back or
back-to-front z-order.

"turn cairo_font_options_set_hint_metrics back off again"

If I understand correctly, version of cairo is 1.16.0 here:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/libcairo2

Caolán, could you please check if this bug exists with more recent cairo, and
if there is a way to workaround it in LO?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154975] New: All printing is in landscape format

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154975

Bug ID: 154975
Summary: All printing is in landscape format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.0.0 alpha1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 92ma...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm in the US so a page is 8.5 inches by 11 inches ie. letter size orientation
PORTRAIT

Whether it is an existing Writer document or a simple document of a few lines,
it looks portrait oriented but when printed to a physical printer, it comes out
in landscape orientation. Also a simple calc spreadsheet does the same thing.
This was first noticed going from XUbuntu 22.04 to 23.04. I now find that even
if such printing is done on the previous XUbuntu 22.04 system, it depends upon
the version of LibreOffice. Through 7.4.6.2 all prints as expected. Beginning
with LO 7.5.0.0 (alpha) and a few releases through 7.6.0.0 - this situation is
happening.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a one line document or a one line few cell spread sheet
2.print in 'normal' portrait (8.5x11) format
3.

Actual Results:
Printed page is twisted left one quarter turn (ie landscape)

Expected Results:
A printed page that looks like the preview

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is happening on two systems that clearly do not have the same profile

same examples are attached. The mom^1 gets separated while the m^2 mostly not.

one should simply print the exponents a tad closer to the basis.

e.g., bioRxiv messes up the ^'s in the whole document bcse of the spaces before
the ^'s.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154974] New: LibreOffice documents constantly switching focus.

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154974

Bug ID: 154974
Summary: LibreOffice documents constantly switching focus.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.5.2.2 release
  Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m...@manngo.net

Description:
If I have a number of LO documents (whether they’re Writer or Calc documents)
then moving the mouse often switches focus on another document. This is without
actually clicking on it.

When the focus has magically shifted, then using the keyboard to switch back
doesn’t generally work, presumably because LO still thinks the original
document has the focus.

Switching to another application and back again focuses on the original
document.

Steps to Reproduce:
I cannot reproduce this reliably. A typical sequence is something like this:

1. Open multiple documents.
2. Select one document and stare at it for a while.
3. (Distractedly) move the mouse over another underlapping document.
4. Wait for a short while and distractedly move the mouse.
5. Get annoyed that suddenly the other document is brought to the front.

Actual Results:
As above.

Expected Results:
Nothing

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Version:7.5.2.2 (AARCH64) / Libre Office Community
Build: 53bb9681a964705cf67259072...
Envronment: CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.3.1
User Interface: UI render: default; VCL: OSX
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8);Ul: en-US
Misc: Calc: threaded

- Happens with both Calc and Writer documents; I haven’t tried the others.
- Using M1 Mac Mini, MacOS Ventura 13.3.1

BTW On a Mac, About LibreOffice is in the LibreOffice Menu, not the Help Menu.
Also, the information is not selectable; thank goodness for OCR.

I believe that is by design, but see

a solution.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 144547] Changing Cell name with drag & drop. it is repeated forever in the formula

2023-04-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144547

Hmm... OTOH, the formula includes #REF! errors. Why anyone would care about
solving something with a broken formula, before actually solving the formula
itself first?

Is this repeatable with a non-broken formula?
