Let's just drop all of Base in 6.0. Split it off into a separate project.
Databases is a big enough area to have its own application suites. We don't
include email, photo editing, music production, or electronic design
automation in the LibreOffice "suite" either, to mention a few areas that

IIRC we
I suppose too that if we upgrade, there'll be a support from HSQLDB guys
(they may help and we may submit some bugs if any).
Indeed, I don't think they're interested in helping for old (2008 according
to http://sourceforge.net/projects/hsqldb/files/hsqldb/) version 1.8 but
perhaps I'm wrong.

There is no need to repackage the tarball to get that in the build

Hello,
I'm giving a try to tdf#44854 "Upgrade bundled HSQLDB to 2.x".
Would it be possible to upload the repackaged file from
http://localhost/serval2412/hsqldb_2_3_3.zip to
http://dev-www.libreoffice.org/src ? (md5 =
40cc60070acaa2d49193b3abd15e560e, no need to prefix the file with it)
I
Err... Ask on the mailing list, I don't have write access to
http://dev-www.libreoffice.org/src
I believe there was a branch somewhere in OpenOffice.org times that
had the beginning of that adaptation...
