There were two posts on this list about bug 49287. I can confirm this bug too. I'm having the exact same problem on FreeBSD 9-RELEASE. After installing LO 3.5.4.2 from ports printing to lpr isn't possible. LO cannot find a default printer, and trying to add it by using spadmin (as root) results in a "filesystem is read-only" error.
