            Bug ID: 105180
Summary: Font size in style ignored when editing PDF text boxes
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Draw
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Created attachment 130250

sample PDF ("GrandDeed.pdf")

(I don't use Draw regularly, so I might just mis-understand something;
apologies if this is not a bug...)

When a regular PDF (without embedded odf) is opened, it is opened in Draw and
each text block is a Text object which you can edit.

However, the default font size used for newly-typed text seems to have nothing
to do with what the style says.

I did Format->Default Formatting and then typed new text, but the text did not
use the font size in the Default style.

Rightclick->Edit Style shows the default size to be 24 points, but what I get
is maybe 8 points (possibly the same as the existing text in the text field).

I searched the web for how to change the _default_ for new text, and the
answers seem to say that is controlled by the Default style, but that doesn't
seem to be the case. n I can set a hard font size (overriding the style), but
I have to do that each time I insert text, which is tedious.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Open the attached sample PDF ("GrandDeed.pdf")
2. Zoom in if needed using the lower-right corner zoom control
3. Click in the existing "Name:" text box, move the cursor to after the ":"
4. Format->Default Formatting
5. Rightclick->Edit Style, set font size to some large value (e.g. 24 or 40)
6. Type some text

RESULTS: The new text is small, not the size given in the style

EXPECTED (to me...) RESULTS: Format->Default Formatting should make new text
follow the default style

Note: If Format->Default Formatting only changes _existing_ text, and that is
considered correct, then it should be greyed out if no text is selected. In
that case, some other mechanism should be provided to set the default size of
new text.
