The font is broken, there is nothing we should do about this. There are already

Folks reporting this are on GPUs not capable of running OpenGL, so does
disabling "Use hardware acceleration" to render with CPU only affect things
with rendering Cardo?

I also had this line height issue (perhaps better called a baseline issue?) I
would describe it as the Cardo text was "rendering" hidden 50% below the
evident baseline.

Hmm.. it seems you copied the contents of opencl_devices.log :) OpenCL is used
for Calc calculations, while Open Gee L is used for graphical stuff.
