Editing the data series there is an option 'Plot missing values - Leave gap',
that I think gives what you want.

OK, but if you open the same in MicroSoft Excel you will see that the graph
just stops where the x-data is not entered yet, which is the user intention
that Excel understands. There must be consistency

the file I am trying to attach is 375K. Not sure that your attachment tool
