I now find (using 7.1.4.2) that Calc also crashes consistently on Print
Preview. This may or may not be the same bug.

Thanks for your help. I suspect Microsoft of doing something on a recent
update! I will live with it till 7.1.5 appears - I don't want to work on a
beta.

Your user profile shows you have an AssistiveTechnolgyTool enabled. That is
consistent with resolved duplicate bug 141769 which has been patched on
nightlies for master, a future 7.1.5 release, and
