Bug ID: 144431 Summary: Calc files saved as .xlsx cannot be opened by Excel 365 Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rogerparadi...@gmail.com I just installed Excel from Microsoft 365. I have several .xlsx files created with LibreOffice Calc, using version 7.0.6 and 7.1.6. When I try to open these files in Excel, it says they are corrupt and will not allow opening. If I rename a file extension to .xls and try opening again in Excel, it says it may be corrupt and asks if I want to open it anyway and then lets me open it. If I rename the file extension to .ods, Excel is able to open it with no errors. To sum up, for the following Calc created files: .xlsx - Excel gives an error and cannot open .xls - Excel gives an error and then allows opening .ods - Excel opens without any problem Obviously this is a problem for sharing spreadsheet files between a mix of LibreOffice and Excel users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
