I have found that this bug is caused by the Mac OS Extended Journaled File
System. I have several other crashes apparently caused by the same or related
problems.

I think the video of the document is misleading because screencap does not show
the title bar ("feature" of screen cap?).
What is actually happening is that it is only creating a single document.

Just for the record, on pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I
don't reproduce this.
When I launched LO, after having opened a template for Writer, I got only 1
document, not 2 like you
