Difficult to give a useful answer on this. I unexpectedly got access to MS
Office so haven’t been using LibreOffice so much, but limited testing does
suggest that the newer version is more stable.

The cycling of windows issue seems to be fixed (though I have just experienced
another weird bug with multiple windows whereby a background window jumps to
the foreground yet the original foreground window
