Is your "Search criteria = and <> must apply to whole cells" OFF or ON?

IDK which exactly is supposed to be the expected behavior when menu Tools >
LibreOffice Calc > Calculate > "Search criteria = and <> must apply to whole
cells" is unticked / OFF regarding Autofilter empty
