Ok, I guess I was testing under Linux. Can't repro on Windows. I also tried
activating "Check words with numbers", but no problem.

I am now using version 7.6.0.3 and the way I can reproduce it, even in safe
mode, is to type .8am . For example open a new
document and type "Hey. 8am" will get changed to "Hey. 8Am.
