This corrected the corruption - the workbook opens in Excel 2010 and 2013 now.
It does loose cell borders and some background coloring though.

(Possible workaround: using XLS (Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP/2003 .xls) instead
of XLSX. The XLS output filter keeps all worksheets of the test file.)
