This and 68401 seem to be local problems imo.
Can't reproduce on OS X 10.8.4 and LO 4.2 master nor 4.1.1.1.
Could you try with the latest pre-release and see if the problem persists.

No extensions, everything done in a basic manner. Dates by hand. Formatting
also. I think two separate spreadsheets led to two separate crashes, both set
up equally plainly. I was really surprised
