Ok you mean Clone formatting (paintbrush icon).
I works ok for me.
Does this happen in a new document, if you just set a paragraph to bold and
then try to clone it to another?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Highlight text whose formatting is to be copied.
2. Select Format control from menu ribbon.
3. Select/highlight text to apply formatting to.
