When the number of the seats increased and decreased,
I think that the address of the seat slips off by the seat which I add it and
deleted.
When I deleted a seat of the end or added a seat to the end, this phenomenon
does not occur.

In LibreOffice Impress, the Outline level/movement arrows (Promote, Demote,
Move Up, and Move Down) are displayed in the Formatting toolbar.
However, they can't be applied to text objects like the rest of the commands in
the toolbar. Instead, they can only be applied in Outline view. Therefore, it
would make more sense to have these four buttons in the Outline toolbar.

Current behavior:
The created file has a size of 595x841 pixels.

I can confirm this bug in LibreOffice 4.1.1.2 Build ID: 410m0(Build:2) on Linux
Mint 13 64bit running the Gnome Shell.

I've tried importing with different encodings (UTF-8, Western Europe
(ISO-8859-2) and Western Europe (ASCII/US). I've also tried using different
locales (though only English-US and English-UK, the latter being my default
one), and 'detecting special characters', and still dates are not imported
correctly no matter how you format the data (or without formatting it at all)

Very annoying as it forces me to reboot into Windows and use Excel just to get
this done properly

Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: vascofal...@gmail.com

I think the NLP Solver really needs to be ported to native code. It reduces
Java code, which seems to be a sort of mid-term goal for LO. It also performs
some of the most performance intensive operations in the whole of LO, so it
seems we'd wand this to run closer to the metal.

Microsoft Excel of course has non-linear algorithms fully integrated.

PS - I wasn't sure whether to submit this to Spreadsheet or Extensions. Please
move it if it's not in the correct section.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62664] cells gets formatted by itself

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62664

--- Comment #5 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
The behaviour that I understand is :
- there is a difference between the (unique) active cell (the one with large
black border, reported in the heading) and the one or more cells selected (the
ones with light blue background)
- a format command applies to the selected cell(s) if any, and defaulted to the
active cell if there are no selected cells
- no ambiguity when the format is the settings of a background,
- a precise behaviour is needed when the format is the setting of borders, in
order to distinguish between inner and outer borders of the selected cells. And
in fact the results appears a little bit fancyful. Just one exemple below.

- on a new Calc sheet, click on B3, ctrl-click on C2, C3 and D3, no matter the
order, resulting in 4 selected cells (B3, C2, C3, D3)
- format cell border, select the 2 external horizontals, OK
- then click on B6, ctrl-click on C5, C6 and D6, no matter the order, resulting
in 4 selected cells (B6, C5, C6, D6)
- format cell border, select the 2 external verticals, OK
- compare the two resuls. Can't we say that the horizontal outline is
understandable, while the vertical one is not (in particular, for C6) ?

The issue would be : please write down current implemented rules ; if it is
impracticable, please imagine, write in docs and implement a rule
understandable and useful for users.

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70371

--- Comment #4 from Jorendc jore...@libreoffice.org ---
(In reply to comment #0)
This might still create some false positives because of e.g. platform
dependant files, but it should be a good starting point: Obviously such
headers if truly unused, should be removed from the repository tree.

Just a thought from a non-developer: what if we combine the output of all
platforms (tinderboxes for example)? If header 'A' comes up in all output
files, we can be (almost?) sure it isn't platform dependent. Isn't it?

Kind regards,
Joren

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63394] Function edition pane at Calc dont scrolling

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63394

--- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
It looks like a bad placement of the formula edition pane (too high ; the top
arrow of the scrolling bar is hiden), i.e. a pure UI bug.

- what host, what LibO version ?
- any idea of the steps done just before this situation, which could have
caused it ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65323] Objects anchored as characters aren't treated as characters

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65323

--- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #2)
 - OpenOffice apparently endorses that an object behave like a word-breaking
character rather than en alphabetic character ; so the point 1 is not a bug,
 - both solutions are defendable
You are absolutely right! I must have thought about this myself.

however, if you think that the string
(formula) must be processed like a word (for the purpose of wrapping) so
that anchored as character must now be understood as anchored as
alphabetical character, I'm afraid that it raises new bug issues like my
sentence sentence_bodylarge_image_object does no longer wrap correctly
when sentence_body ends with a letter : the wrapped image always pulls the
 last word with her...
You are right; however, the current state only allows for one thing:
unconditionally wrapping the object. The proposed change allows one to control
this: simply add the spaces around objects that need wrapping, and everything
is OK; otherwise, if you need object to stay with leading/trailing text, it is
doable by omitting the space.
This is likely to break layout of some existing documents. This may be
mitigated either by automatically inserting spaces (if absent) around such
objects on importing documents created by older versions (this needs knowledge
of version of creator software), or by introducing a new option selectable by
user document-wide or per object.

 - may I suggest that you include the parenthesis into the formula ?
No :) Actually, this is a wrong approach. Consider this text:
some text (for example, formula object).
Here, if I put right closing parenthesis into the formula, I run into a number
of issues:
1. I must use the syntax right none ... left ) inside the formula to enter
only one parenthesis, and it is the scaling parenthesis, so it will likely not
match the size of opening parenthesis written in plain text;
2. Even if I manage to enter one closing parenthesis of correct size (by
enclosing it in quotes in formula), it will likely be of a different shape (by
different font);
3. Even if I define the same font for the formula (which may be undesirable, to
keep visual distinction of formulas), I will depend on correct vertical
alignment of the parenthesis (which is not always that correct), so the
parenthesis will likely be misaligned.
4. The resulting text will fire warnings from spell checker.
And maybe there are some other issues I haven't thought of.

 - I confirm that textblankobjectparagraph_mark matches
 [[:space:]]$,
 - This fact can't be summarized as ... there is no object... because
spaceobjectspace doen't match spacespace (either with and
without the Regular Expression box checked)
 - also this text spaceobjectspace doesn't match
 [[:space:]][[:space:]] but it matches [[:space:]].[[:space:]]
 - so the bug is : inconsistencies in the way the pseuso-character
representing an object anchored as character is used anywhere (word
wrapping, searching, etc). A consistent behaviour should be proposed,
 closest to the current behaviour.
I agree. And I think that the correct behavior of search and replace should
treat such objects as a character that can be matched by regexes like .,
[^[:space:]], [^[:alpha:]], [^[:digit:]], [[:print:]] (because it's
printable object), [^[:cntrl:]], [^[:lower:]], [^[:upper:]]. If so, lines
like textspaceobject will not match regex [[:space:]]$

I think that this issue should be split to two (one bug report about regexes
and one RFE).

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61850

--- Comment #11 from Paul Simmonds p...@digitaljingle.co.uk ---
This is a problem with the Form Fields.

Look at the two screen captures,

On Open Office you can see one correct line in the top form field, and three
lines in the large form field

On the export to PDF then the top form field is corrupted with the top half of
the characters truncated and in the large form field only one line shows.

Basically, something in the export appears to be adding space before or after
the paragraph when exporting to PDF.

I currently have to maintain an old copy of OpenOffice 3.2.0 so I can PDF my
fillable forms - this was the last version it appeared to work correctly in.

gm_Prg has gm_p_Wrt, gm_p_Calc, etc. children. gm_p_Wrt also has children, but
they are hidden: gm_p_Wrt_Bin, gm_Brand_p_Wrt, gm_p_Wrt_MSO_Reg.

Documentation says:

To guarantee that the child feature's state always follows the state of its
parent, even when the child and parent are initially set to absent in the
SelectionTree Control, you must include both msidbFeatureAttributesFollowParent
and msidbFeatureAttributesUIDisallowAbsent in the attributes of the child
feature.

Note that if you set msidbFeatureAttributesFollowParent without setting
msidbFeatureAttributesUIDisallowAbsent, the installer cannot force the child
feature out of the absent state. In this case, the child feature matches the
parent's installation state only if the child is set to something other than
absent.

Set msidbFeatureAttributesFollowParent and
msidbFeatureAttributesUIDisallowAbsent to ensure a child feature follows the
state of the parent feature.

So the solution of this bug in my opinion will be, that we set
msidbFeatureAttributesUIDisallowAbsent bit for the hidden features.

I think these patches might be related:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=9b10ef9fc39dc0251b03d6d9285bb86aab29abee

For the ideal look, I've slightly modified the image in 3.6 Release Notes, more
or less the ideal look should be like this, I've just added a border to the
white area of the ruler as well. This way with the toolbar (viewshell) and the
ruler looks distinguished from the document area.

I didn't draw for the vertical ruler for the mock-up, but it should be the same
as well.

Here's the image: http://imgur.com/NO1YtOx

a hyperlink with spaces in between words in the target/url works at first
but once you save, close, then reopen the document the hyperlink has changed
itself to get rid of spaces (this happens with all hyperlinks that have
spaces in them whether they be to a bookmark within the document, a link to
another document, a link to a bookmark in another document, etc.)

Could you be more specific, i.e. what are the steps needed to observe this
behaviour? Currently, I can't reproduce this on 4.1.3 RC1.

What I tried: Insert - Hyperlink, set some pseudo-URL with spaces in it as
Target, saved the file, then closed and reopened it. Upon hovering the link the
URL looked like it was before, and when I opened the hyperlink dialog again,
the target was displayed as it was before there as well.

On first sheet unsorted data, on second sheet sorted data by column q (in range

In attached file I tried to count 4 best results of 6 tournaments, but if some

But after save and reopen correct results appear. So I have taken shot of

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70408] New: Feature Request: Lack of Outliner Functionality a Deal Breaker for Me

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70408

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70408
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Feature Request: Lack of Outliner Functionality a Deal
Breaker for Me
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: couga...@outlook.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

FIRST: I discussed this problem in the Nabble User's group and received half a
dozen responses from people who support this request. At the end of this
feature request, I'm excerpting it. The entire thread on Nabble has the same
title as this feature request.

When I was a full-time journalist in the 1980s, I became very successful using
a dedicated outliner called PCOutline. When all the major Word Processers came
along--MS Word, Word Perfect, etc, the lack of outliner functionality kept me
with my archaic outliner until MS Word beat the functionality of PCOutline.

I used outlining as my main method of work when a full-time technical writer in
the 90s (e.g., Fujitsu Software in San Jose). While working for a java house, I
was so influenced by the negative developer reactions to MS, that I've been
wishing to move to OpenOffice or LibraOffice ever since they came along. But
you don't have the functionality that I need, and furthermore, the discussions
of outlining on this forum seem to miss the whole point, from my point of view.

I'm a very motivated wannabe LibraOffice user who currently can't make the
switch, because although I'm retired and writing fiction, the power of an
outliner for writing in all genres is something I can't live without.

So my reasons are complex--sorry about that--but tl:dr will not allow you to
understand them. Please take the time. I really want to quit Microsoft Office
forever and ever and ever. Thanx.

The first functionality I need might seem mickey mouse, but it's the foundation
for everything else. This is that in Word's outliner view, there's a button in
front of every paragraph that I can drag and drop up and down. It's like cut
and paste, but a lot faster. Combined with other features, it's extremely
powerful.

The second functionality I need is to be able to collapse things. In an article
of 25 paragraphs, I can hide every line except the first line of the paragraph,
thus allowing me to see the entire article of 25 paragraphs on the screen at
the same time. This allows me to completely rearrange the entire article by
drop and drag.

For editing a single sentence or paragraph, I insert a return between
sentences, phrases, and even words, drop and drag these elements into a new
order, and delete the returns. Voila! A much better constructed paragraph or
sentence in a snap.

The third functionality is to collapse things within headers. For instance, if
I've interviewed a dozen people for an article or if I've brainstormed 5 pages
of random ideas for a blog or a chapter in a novel, I create headers for
different topics and then drag and drop paragraphs, quotes, ideas, etc into the
headers or buckets I've created. When one header becomes too full and fills too
much of the screen, I collapse it, so that it hides all the paragraphs already
there, which cleans up the screen. When I'm done with this step, I have half a
dozen headers, under which are many different ideas, all of which are
completely hidden.

So I drag and drop my half a dozen headers into the correct order. Then I open
the first main header and create a bunch of subheaders. Once this is done, I
reorganize all of the points in this first section into subsections or
sub-buckets, collapsing them all as needed until everything is organized into a
number of different subheaders. At this point, I can rearrange all of these
subheaders into the best order that they belong in. I can even drag a subheader
into a different main heading if I choose, where it will remain as a separate
section.

I can repeat this process as many levels as I wish. This feature in MS Word is
fractal to nine levels. From a chaotic mixture of confusion emerges order,
insight, and wisdom--in one single step.

As a technical writer, I used to sit in a brainstorming meetings, write down
every developer idea as fast as I could (including those I didn't understand at
all), type it all sequentially, and then very quickly organize all of the ideas
into a coherent whole. The developers thought I actually knew how to program.
(Mwah-hah-hah!)

I could never have done that with LibreOffice as it's now configured or
OpenOffice, either. Without my Word outliner, I would have been a shitty
technical writer, and I would never have been able to write the developer
guides I wrote.

As a creative writer today, I currently have a dozen projects that are
percolating, as well

I was editing a file in Writer and creating my own styles. When I tried
delete a style that was in use in some part of document, Writer crashed and
 closed.

How to repeat the problem: Create a style, apply it on a text then try to
delete it without remove style from text.

Eu estava editando um arquivo no Writer e criando meus próprios estilos.
Quando eu tentei excluir um estilo que estava em uso em alguma parte do
documento, o Writer caiu e fechado.

Como repetir o problema: Criar um estilo, aplicá-lo em um texto, em seguida,
tentar excluí-lo sem remover o estilo do texto.

 :)

I'm trying to reproduce here, but I think that bug is already solved. It is not
happening anymore here.

I guess because my version of Libreoffice now is Versão: 4.1.2.3 - Id. de
compilação: 4.1.2.3 Arch Linux build-1.

I think that is why is not happening more the bug.

What I can do to help?

i'm using the most recent release 4.1.2.3 (it did this in a couple of previous
releases. i don't know how far back it started doing this.) my OS is windows 7.
if i make a bookmark (let's name it hello world) within a document name
document-a with a space in between the words the bookmark works fine even
after reopening, however if i create a link (within the same document) to the
bookmark then save and COMPLETELY CLOSE libreoffice then reopen the file, the
link is now broken as the TARGET IN DOCUMENT: URL hello world has been
changed to helloworld. the same thing happens if i create a link within
document-a to a document with spaces in between the title of the document
(document b). if the target bookmark or document name has more than one space
in it(i'm yakko warner) then upon reopening, the TARGET IN DOCUMENT: URL
will have been changed to i'm yakkowarner (having only deleted one space).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70408] Feature Request: Lack of Outliner Functionality a Deal Breaker for Me

Here's another comment on that thread and my response to it:
-
e-letter inp...@gmail.com

There are many outliner tools out there, why use a word-processor when
a text editor such as Leo or Jedit can achieve outline functionality?

Alternatively, use LO writer styles and the navigator toolbar.
---
Cougar Brenneman couga...@gmail.com

I took a look at Leo, Jedit, and OPML, and frankly, none of them are as
convenient as M$ Word. I'm using Word as both a word processor and an outliner,
and it's extremely convenient to be working on a document as an outline, then
move over to a word processing mode without losing the outline structure, and
work with formatting and other elements that are convenient in that view, and
then move back to outlining without losing my formatting and other tools that
are available in Word. When I'm writing in outline format, I even want to just
experience my novel as it will be read on the page, and then go back to using
the outliner.

In Eric B's first post, he recommended OPML but stated that once the document
was moved over to LO or OO, it was no longer in outline format and could no
longer be manipulated as an outline. This is what I found in looking at every
option that anyone here has recommended.

In http://cribsheet.opml.org, there are a lot of comments by people who also
want to have their outliner also act as a word processor. There's no export
facility in OPML that preserves the outline structure once you cut and paste
the text into your word processor, and the users include many old-time outliner
users who think that OPML is the best of the options.

The reason I'm currently sticking with Word is I need a tool that is both a
word processor and an excellent outliner, such that I don't have to cut and
paste, thereby losing the outline structure. I need to be able to constantly go
back and forth between the two views--which is how Word handles it--as two
views.

That's why I am not willing to give up my current use of Word. On the cripsheet
page for OPML, you'll find ample evidence that I'm not alone in requesting this
feature.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68167] Create an outline view similar to that in MS Word and Apple Pages

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68167

--- Comment #5 from Cougar Brenneman couga...@outlook.com ---
I'm the author of Bug 70408, which has been marked as a duplicate of this bug.
I need to point out that while I agree with Mike--UCLAgeek--the features he's
discussing are not the same features as I'm discussing, though they are
related.

IN OTHER WORDS, these are similar requests, but not duplicates. Keep them
together for convenience. But please read my request as different, because I'm
highlight specific different features.

Cor: The Navigator bears some relationship to the Document Map in Word, though
there are differences. I have looked at your Navigator as extensively as I
could without installing LO, and I have to agree with Mike that it simply is
not the same thing at all. In addition, the Navigator does not duplicate the
specific features I'm requesting, such as the manipulation of individual
paragraphs within the document by dragging their buttons. Navigator's ability
to reorganize sections is okay, but it's nothing close to being able to
reorganize paragraphs without headings.

This is key to what I use M$ Word for. This function alone makes a huge
difference in the ability to deconstruct a single sentence or a single
paragraph and create something more powerful/poetic/concise/clear/insightful.

In addition, I don't want to be moving things around on a separate window any
more than Mike does. I agree with Mike, but the features I mention are
different. This is not a duplicate.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70414] New: create VSProject files for code editing in MSVS from gbuild

2013-10-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70414

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70414
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: create VSProject files for code editing in MSVS from
gbuild
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 87541
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87541action=edit
definitions about a library

If you run e.g.:

make cmd make -npf Makefile.gbuild all

you will get a huge output of gbuilds state (without actually building
anything). It should also contain a piece of text like the attached one
describing ~completely (include paths, compile flags, link flags, source files
...) how each library gets build.

This EasyHack is to create a script (or better a make target wrapping a
script), that:
- finds that data in the output
- extract that data
- and generate a VS Project file, that allows to load the library as a project
in VS with include paths etc. set so that InteliSense (code completing) works

In the first step it is NOT required to allow building directly from VS. Later,
bonuspoints might get earned with extending the generated project files to
trigger gbuild from VS with a Custom Action:

 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/d9k65z2d%28v=vs.100%29.aspx

So for starters, this is to allow Windows developers to continue using MSVS as
an editor and IDE. Do NOT attempt a perfect 1:1 translation, ability to edit
with code completion should be enough for starters!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70371] Identify unused headers

@Jelle: Awesome, quick work! Could you commit this to ./bin in the core repo
(if you want to use gerrit, feel free to add me as a reviewer, so I can
fasttrack that)?

@Jorendc: Lets see how much false-positives there really are. If they are too
many we might e.g. blacklist them (per platform). Another possibility would be
to do `git grep` on the basename of the header and then see if there is any
include statement for it. But first, lets get the script as-is in. ;)

Problem description:

The following are problem with the package descriptions in the Debian packaging

1) The packages are labeled LibreOffice 4.1 .1.2 and for language packages the
.1.2 goes after the language en_US etc tag.

2) The package libobasis4.1-ooofonts contains fonts for libo but it is labeled
as Mailcap module for LibreOffice.

3) libobasis4.1-onlineupdate is labeled Online update modul with a missing
final e.

Please fix these errors. Thank you!

Sorry for the extra post but I realize I should add a few:

4) libobasis4.1-core01 is labeled Core module for LibreOffice whereas the
rest of the libobasis4.1-core0? packages are labeled *Office* module for
LibreOffice. Please make the naming consistent.

5) libobasis4.1-en-us-[base|calc|math|writer] all read Base language module
Calc language module etc. But base, calc etc are not languages! The
wording is confusing. Please change this to Language module for LibreOffice
Base component etc.

6) While you are at it please could you clarify what are all those brand
modules -- libreoffice4.1-writer is the Writer brand module for LibreOffice
whereas libobasis4.1-writer is the Writer module for LibreOffice. What is the
difference?

7) And why doesn't installing the libreoffice4.1 package install all the
packages required to run libreoffice?

Please consider adding the optional feature to intelligently select text word
by word. When highlighting one word, only select the characters. When you
select more than one word, select entire words at a time. When selecting left
to right, and the mouse is moved backwards, revert to selecting one character
at a time. If the cursor is moved right again over multiple words, continue
with the select by word behavior.

This feature would only apply to Writer and Impress. The option to disable it
could be placed under
Tools - Options - Writer AND Impress - General - Editing

The option could be called When selecting text, automatically select entire
word

The feature would be especially useful for those of us on laptop with imprecise
input devices like touchpads or pointing sticks. You can see an example of how
this could be implemented by using MS Word or Powerpoint.
