[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95190] New: Automatic initial capital letter

2015-10-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95190

Bug ID: 95190
   Summary: Automatic initial capital letter
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.3.1 rc
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: k.laszlo.misk...@gmail.com

I found the LO 4.4.3.2 version 5.0.3 of the BASE-up in the record, the text may
not be the "Automatic initial capital letter" to adjust.
The LO4.4.2.2 still operating at the correct settings, but other versions do
not.

This can be done by adding glue points. Edit - Glue points. View - Toolbars -
Glue points. You see the mouse turn into a + and you can insert the points to

@antonio : this bugzilla is for reports in English.

My limited understanding of Italian indicates that you only experience the
problem with macros running in a database file which produce a dialog and these
dialogs are hidden behind the main application window.

Could you provide us with a sample database and instructions on how to proceed,
so that we can test, specifically on OSX ?

As I wrote, it's useless now, files cannot be tested nor fixed until Bug 93997
is resolved. So just track that one so far.
And even if it's fixed and you submit a new bug later, it may be invalid
because your files cannot even be properly open with MS Office. In that case
you should give exact detail which Excel opens files.
Until then, you can use LibreOffice 4.3.7.2. which opens that file, and that's
not slow with my computer (well, it's i7).

Hi Senya,

No idea I'm afraid, I don't know how LibreOffice handles the in process / in
memory loading of data from embedded Firebird databases, but I would assume it
does so in a similar manner to that used for hsqldb.

Note that the wiki page on using version management systems with LO is
conspicuously silent on being able to do so with ODB files - from the
suggestion made to export to FODT, I would surmise that there is never even any
guarantee of being able to consistently manage the other other modules default
container-based formats (ODT/ODS/ODP etc) :

Exact, the file is generated by an external tool, and has an .xlsx extension,
instead of an .xml one.
I think that's done because, .xml files are opened by lot of tools (browsers,
editors, etc...), and developpers did want their file to open with a
spreadsheet program.
I tested with an .xml extension, and the time to open the file is the same.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95193] New: Wrong bookmarks in impress pdf export with notes pages

2015-10-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95193

Bug ID: 95193
Summary: Wrong bookmarks in impress pdf export with notes pages
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com

Created attachment 119776
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=119776=edit
Test case to reproduce the issue

When you export some impress slides to PDF and ask the exporter to include
notes pages, the bookmarks included in the PDF file are wrong.

Try the following:

- Open a presentation
- File -> Export as PDF...
- Set the export options "Export Bookmarks" (so you get bookmarks) and "Export
notes pages"
- Do the PDF export
- Check the PDF file with a viewer, let the viewer show you the Bookmark links
(e.g.: with Acroread 9, "View->Navigation Panels->Bookmarks"; with Okular:
activate navigation panel from Settings menu and then press the "Contents"
button; etc.).

See how the bookmarks are "Slide 1, Slide 2,...", followed again by "Slide 1,
Slide 2,...", with the "Slide n" in the second set pointing to the n-th slide
exactly like the "Slide n" in the first set. In other words, if your
presentation has N slides, then the PDF contains 2N pages (N slides + N notes
pages). The first "Slide n" points at page n and the second "Slide n" again
points at page n.

This is wrong. The bookmarks should be "Slide 1, Slide 2,...", followed by
"Notes 1, Notes 2,..." with "Notes n" pointing to the n-th *Notes* page and
"Slide n" pointing to the n-th slide. In other words, with an N slide
presentation and a 2N pages PDF as above, "Slide n" should point to page n and
"Notes n" should point to page N+n.

The current wrong behavior gets particularly weird when, after having exported
the slides and the notes pages you may want to use some PDF toolkit to separate
the slides pages from the notes pages by breaking the PDF file in two files. In
this case, you get a slides PDF file with two bookmarks per page and a notes
PDF file with no bookmarks at all.

Please see the attached documents for an example of the wrong behavior.

Hi Cor,

thanks for caring about this bug.

But sorry, this is not the same for me, a comment to the text is not the same
as the comment to a tracked change, as it is handled in the commit/discharge
dialog with accepting changes. If it should be the same, two icons makes no
sense and the fact, that after hitting next and hitting back it works, seems to
me that these are two different kind of comments.

So, for me it doesn't work also with 5.0.2.2
I don't know if I'm alloud to reopen the bug, but if, i would reopen it ;-)

Cu, Lothar

Hi JBF,

(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #2)

Please dont take my setting this bug as invalid to mean more than my
inexperience with setting bug statuses.

> If you think that nobody want or can work on completing these icon sets, you
> could set the bug report as wontfix, but, please, do not say that the

Nobody is working on Galaxy, but in every release, improvements are happening
for Tango, Sifr, and Breeze.

> I agree that some people could find Galaxy icon sets not very visually

As help isnt installed by default, isnt up-to-date, and isnt used by most
users, switching back to Galaxy just because of the problems in help isnt the
right solution to that problem.

(In reply to tommy27 from comment #3)

According to analysis done by Samuel for the removal of the industrial icon
theme which tango pulls from before pulling from galaxy, there are
approximately 366 icons that tango is pulling from industrial. Unfortunately
there arent any analysis of the icons missing between tango and galaxy.

(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #5)

The true problems with bug 82149 were only discovered in the last few days and
there are a number of possible solutions that could be used to solve it
temporarily, like making the help viewer only use galaxy.

(In reply to richard_g from comment #6)
> You cannot say that Galaxy is not a very visually appealing icon theme. This

Yes of course it was my opinion that its not visually appealing, but we do have
stats that Galaxy isnt the most used icon theme for libreoffice, of course
primarily because its not the default icon theme. The decision to use Tango
over Galaxy was made in the Go-oo days, likely due to Tango being the default
icon theme on Gnome.

As stated above, the root of the problem of the missing help icons was only
discovered recently and unless someone gets to the root of the problem and
brings the severity to a developer interested in fixing it, it wont get fixed.

We are presently primarily focused on 1 colored and 1 monochrome icon theme
(tango and breeze), both of which are the most complete icon themes behind
galaxy.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81397] FORMATTING: When Default cell style is modified, new sheets do not show correct row height

2015-10-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81397

I have LibreOffice 5.0.2.2 on Yosemite 10.10.5

The problems is still there. I've done a new template with Calibri 10 and row
height 0.52 on all cells. The template included just one sheet. I did this
template to a standard one.
When I opens a new file the first spread sheet (which is included from the
beginning) shows correct font and row height. When I add a new sheet the font
is right but the row height is back to 0.43.

My current user-case. Hyperlinking citations within a text to a list of
references. Using cross-references for this doesn't work since there is no way
to edit the text used in the citation. My list of references is double-column,
thus it would be very useful to see which bookmark name I have associated to
each entry in case I end up editing the entry or two entries that could have
very similar bookmark name.

2015-10-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89543

--- Comment #11 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
My biggest issue with the line properties is with the line widths assignment.

Ideally, the Line Properties tab should "remember" the line widths that have
recently been used and propose them on top (sort of what happens or is expected
to happen with the font selection).

Unfortunately, the current Line Properties tab only lets one select some
predefined line widths which may be completely unsuitable for what is being
drawn (e.g. 0.5 pt; 0.8 pt; 1 pt... what if I need 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, etc.?)

Crash if one of the points modified with smooth or symmetric transition, and
asked to save file

LO Draw is constantly crashing, when saving the file, after one of the points
on the diagram was changed with smooth transition or symmetric transition. Draw
is functioning without any problems just up to the moment of saving the file.
If all the points are sharp, then no crash appears.

No, not similar to HSQLDB. The HSQLDB integration does an implicit "save" of
the odb file on a database commit and shutdown. The firebird integration does
not do that.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95126] Do not use an incomplete icon set like Tango as default icon set

In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips

>Galaxy is no longer being worked on and is not a very visually appealing icon
>theme.

You cannot say that Galaxy is not a very visually appealing icon theme. This is
YOUR point of view, not the point of view of all Libre Office users. Galaxy is
my preferred theme.

I don't understand why it takes so long time to solve this problem of missing
icons. A built-in help is needed for such a complex software. This help is very
important for users and should not be neglected. As Jean-Baptiste said, an ugly
built-in help with many missing icons discredits Libre Office.

Tests with version 4.4.5 show that ALL icon themes have the same missing icons
(many missing icons). Tests with Galaxy theme in version 5.0.2 show that the
problem is partially solved, but some icons are still missing (not tried other
themes).

If maintaining several icon themes is difficult, maybe future Libre Office
versions could propose only a single icon theme ? But whatever would be
decided, I consider that all proposed themes should contain all icons. And
while waiting that the buit-in help would be made able to interpret the
"links.txt" file in each theme, the default icon theme should be switched to
the most complete one.

I cannot reproduce this with my own recent master (64 bit) build for Windows.
Please describe exactly the steps how to reproduce.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92975] FILESAVE: .xlsx edited and saved in LibO is not compatible with MS Office 2007

Same problem with LO Calc 5.0.2. MS Excel viewer cannot open an unedited Excel
file saved in LO Calc file which LO Calc can open after saving. MS Excel 2007
opens the LO Calc saved file after repairing what it sees as a corrupted file.
The repair log states:
http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main;>error058520_01.xmlErrors
were detected in file 'D:\Public\Public Downloads\174270_1-TAX FORM 2015_R
saved in LO.xlsx'Repaired Part: /xl/worksheets/sheet1.xml part with XML
error. Load error. Line 2, column
249.Repaired Records: String properties from
/xl/sharedStrings.xml part
(Strings)

I can upload the files if required.

Yes it can be fixed, but when? Here we have a easy waiting solution as long as
bug 82149 is not fixed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59418] EDITING: Use F4 for absolute reference toggle

Oh, so that's alright then. Wouldn't want to upset potential migrants from
Excel, in comparison to those who have been using F4 to display their data
sources for the last 20 years since StarOffice/OpenOffice.org/LibreOffice has
been in use.
With that kind of rationale, you may as well just kill off Base straight away,
after all, who would it bother ?

More seriously, and absent the disgruntled population of "advanced users" of
database features that this change has created, the rationale you mention has
led to collateral damage for which the implemented solution doesn't work on
OSX. Is there a fix for that ?

I found the LO 4.4.3.2 version 5.0.3 of the BASE-up in the record, the text may
not be the "Automatic initial capital letter" to adjust.
The LO4.4.2.2 still operating at the correct settings, but other versions do
not.
