Please be advised that the end user is using Think-Cell to create these charts.
If you do not have Think-Cell installed on your test machine, this is the
reason that you are prompted to convert to a current chart type.

https://www.think-cell.com/en/  (I was able to secure a trial version by
filling out a form)

When testing on my machine, these are the steps I followed:

1. Download/Install Think-Cell
2. Open PowerPoint
3. Go to the "Insert" tab and select a "Stacked Chart" from the Think-Cell
"Elements" menu (see newly attached screenshot for reference).
4. Double-click chart to edit labels/values to whatever you want.
5. Save PPTX presentation.
6. Upload file in LibreOffice.

Once the PPTX is available for preview in LO, the issue is observable as the
labels are incorrect.

Charts created *without* Think-Cell display correctly. This issue persists only
with charts created via the steps outlined above. However, our end users employ
Think-Cell as their standard method for creating charts in PowerPoint.

On LibreOffice, the dot on the numeric pad, shows a comma instead of a dot. The
dot on the alphabetic section works fine tough. 

I'm using a ABNT keyboard model for Portuguese language.

It seems this issue came with our OpenOffice Base. So it should affect all
LibreOffice versions.


The issue is that you only can replicate the issue with a ABNT keyboard.


BTW, all other programs receive the input right. Only LibreOffice gets the dot
(.) input and print a comma (,) on screen.

1) Open an ODB file
2) Open an ODS file, go to an empty sheet
3) drag'n drop a table from the base window to the Calc sheet

This creates a data range which is linked to the database table.

In calc, menu Data / Define Range / Options.

Note that the "Source" looks like:
 file:///c:/path/to/foo.odb/tablename

In calc, menu Data / Refresh range. Works.

4) Save ODS file.
5) Close ODS file.
6) Reopen ODS file.
7) menu Data / Refresh range

Expected result: works
Actual result: Unable to establsh connection

Note: menu Data / Define Range / Options
the "Source" now looks like:
 /tablename
that is, it has lost the path to the odb file.

This is confirmed in the actual XML, where content.xml contains something like:


  


  


Note the missing "table:database-name" attribute. By contrast, if one drag'n

hi. 
i used libreoffice 5.0.2.1 for test and when i downloaded and installed version
5.0.3.1 and used it in my daily work and tried to edit my documents after
closing libreoffice, the result was the same. 
i use windows xp professional service pack 3 and i tried in both fa-ir and also
en-us locale. 
but in all versions that i used in my daily works and editing my documents, the
result was the same and i am observing this error message in all versions. 

DDE Server Window: soffice.bin - Application Error

The instruction at "0x7c910a19" referenced memory at "0x". The memory
could not be "read".

Click 'OK" to terminate the program

Seems as though LO 4.3 might be the problem. 

I have now done a parallel install of LO 5.0.4 and used it to print the
document. Perfect! 3 sheets printed, p1 & p2 on each (i.e. p1,p2 p1,p2 p1,p2).

Works for me!

I don't see any "extreme" slowness when scrolling, in a fresh build from the
5.1 branch, a build with --enable-debug even. This is on a medium performance
(?) AMD A10-7800 machine from last year.

hello. 
i tested version 5.0.3.1 in my daily works and editing my documents. 
the errors that mentioned in this bug is not completely solved for me and i see
it. 
but less time when i compare it with versions 4.3. and 4.4 
i did not knew about locale and now i tested in both en-us and also always my
locale is fa-ir
i think that i use version 4.3.7 in a near future again.hi again. 
i tested version 5.0.3.1 and wanted to edit my documents. 
i think these two error messages that you mentioned in this bug is for using
memory in windows xp. 
i did not knew about locale and now i tested in both en-us and fa-ir locale. 
but my locale is always fa-ir and i saw this error messages in all versions of
libreoffice that i tested until now. 
error messages in libreoffice 4.3 and 4.4 happened many many times and in
libreoffice 5.0 the percentage of recieving this errors for me reduced but not
completely solved until now. 
i think that in the very near future i back to version 4.3.7.2 but i recieve
error message about microsoft visual c runtime library runtime error thats a
very big issue for me.

Oh, forget it, that file is already corrupt too. However, as I mentioned in bug
96938, LO5032 on Mac opens this corrupted file fine, whereas my master dbgutil
build crashes when I try to edit anything in the same file (hence this
particular bug report).

Problems with rendering exist, BUT:
- it's highly unlikely that any bugs of type "multiple problems/bad rendering",
will be fixed
- each issue (section break, paragraph break, text box, picture...) should be
reported separately, after a search for already reported bugs
- if bugs don't exist, they should be reported separately, even if they happen
with the same file

So, this shouldn't have been confirmed at all. Those who confirm should also
check each problem in the newer versions up to the current master. I'll revert
to Unconfirmed.

I kindly ask you to reduce the file to minimum test case for each specific
problem (like saving a single page that shows a problem) - if needed multiple
times, of course after a search.

Apply all versions 4.x and the new 5.x too, in my experience Writer and Chart
for sure.
Paste does not work from a cut/copy made from an external application if a
previuosly cut/copy and paste was made inside Libreoffice applications.
More details: When you open first Libreoffice, cut/copy and paste from an
external application it is ok whenever you want, but if you cut/copy and paste
inside Libreoffice applications it is not possible to paste from an external
application anymore. The clipboard retains only the data cut/copied of the
Libreoffice application.
In this case the only solution is to restart Libreoffice.
I am not sure but the issue did not affects version 3.x.

I believe that that is the path for 32bit programs - you need a 64bit JRE/JDK.

Update: On my main machine, LO5 has now twice locked up the DE Plasma 5
immediately when I started LO5/changed the OpenGL settings as described in
comment #4/closed LO5 again. -> Absolutely unusable !

I wouldn't say it's "pages that contain frames don't get deleted". They don't
simply because Ctrl-A doesn't select frame. 

Also, in newer LO we have: 
- Draw Frame (Frame Interactively) - is selected and deleted
- Frame..   - classic frame, the one from this bug - not selected
- Floating Frame  - cannot be selected, that may be another bug

So, if there's a bug it should be "frame not selected with Select All". But I'm
not sure why it should be in the first place. Especially now that there are
different frames.

i did not knew about locale and now i tested in both en-us and also always my

i think that i use version 4.3.7 in a near future again.

OSX 10.11.2

When the form opened, I selected four different values, using the Cmd-left
mouse button click combination to do so. The values I selected were One, Three,
Five and Six.

When I clicked the macro button, I see several messages in sequence (after
pressing OK each time) :

First message : "There are 4 items selected"
Second message : SelectedItems(0) is '0'
Third message : SelectedItems(1) is '2'
Fourth message : SelectedItems(2) is '4'
Fifth message : SelectedItems(3) is '5'
Sixth message :There are 4 values selected

So, all of this appears to be correct, as the count for the array starts from
value index 0.

The subsequent messages retrieve the value of the corresponding array index,
and return the values I had selected in the GUI. So far so good.

Now, I went back to the listbox and selected the first entry, then pressed
Cmd-A (select all), and then pressed the macro button :

First message : there are 1 items selected
Second message : SelectedItems(0) is '0'
Third message : SelectedValues(0) is 'One'


No other values are shown.

Additional observation:
If you change the OS while working on it, the root looks even worse ...

How to reproduce:

1. Start working on a formula under Windows 8 or 10
2. Save dokument and change OS to Linux.
3. Open doc and formula under Linux and work on it (looks good under linux)
4. Save doc under Linux
5. Start Windows again and open document - the upper dash of the root sign is
even more delocated. You have to double click every formula to get it back to
the "bad Windows look".

What do you mean black-listed? LO 5.1.0.2 runs on Windows XP with the following
quirks:

1) If the graphics is not compatible (like on my eeePC netbook) it will not
start on the first run. It will start on the second run with OpenGL disabled
(not a bad idea but could be disappointing to new users that nothing happens on
their first try...)

2) If the graphics is compatible (or sort of, like my ATI Radeon HD 3800) the
menus still load slowly like a grey area and then are populated

3) Tooltips (when the cursor is over an icon or a thumbnail in the Start
Center) show as a grey square, the tooltip is displayed briefly and then
disappears (or another grey layer is drawn ontop...)

4) Thumbnails of Formulas are broken

5) Slideshow stopped working again (and silently crashed LibreOffice in such a
way that the only solution was to reset the profile)

6) ODG does not show a rotated image (although it shows in the thumbnail)

All these problems (except for number 4) are solved when OpenGL is disabled

Hope this helps... 

I'm available for further testing but please don't ask me to file a bug report
for each quirk ;)

its readme-fa.txt for libreoffice in persian language.

i used libreoffice 4.3.0.4 and i did not open text file with it. 
when i installed libreoffice 5 beta and later versions of libreoffice and when
i learned how to open txt file with writer, always i face crash. 
my system is windows xp service pack 3 and my locale is fa-ir. but i tested
this problem in en-us locale also. 

i tested many txt files with writer in version 5 and above and the result was
crash in all. 
its a regression from version 4.3 and maybe 4.4. 
because about version 4.4 i am not shure and i should test it and give
feedback. 

steps to reproduce:
1/ open libreoffice writer. 
2/ press control o or select open in the file menu. 
3/ select type of file text choose encoding txt. 
4/ open this file readme fa.txt
5/ select utf-8 encoding and dont change its language and phont and press enter
or okay. 
current result: libreoffice crash. 
libreoffice 5.0 libreoffice document recovery. 
due to an unexpected error, libreoffice crashed. 
all the files you were working in will now be saved. 
the next time libreoffice is launched, your files will be recovered
automaticly. 
the following files will be recovered. readme-fa.txt 
expected behaviour: libreoffice without any crash, recognizes and opens txt
utf-8 persian document like version 4.3. 
if you select persian language instead of default english after choosing utf-8,
the program closes immediately without any message or feedback for me in using
nvda screen reader.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type in anything in A1, hit ENTER.
--> Contents in A1 disappear.
2. Scroll your Calc screen.
--> Contents in A1 appear again.

Version: 5.1.0.2 (x64)
Build ID: ecd3574d51754b043f865cf5bafee286d24db7cc
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL; 
Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN)
Win 10 X64.

I set version to master because at this moment there is no 5.1.0.2 in version
list.
Bug exists in both zh-CN and en-US locale.

P.S.: I am using parallel install (msiexec /a LibreOffice_5.1.0.2_Win_x64.msi,
see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows)

Works OK in version 5.1.0.1, so this is a regression.

The LibreOffice Writer Guide incorrectly says that exactly this feature exists
in both LO 4.0 and LO 4.2 (i.e. that "Paragraph styles for numbered lists ...
have a means to specify that the numbering be restarted.").

The Guide even shows screen shots of a Paragraph style window open at the
"Outline and Numbering" tab showing a "Numbering: Restart at this paragraph"
checkbox and "Start with" field:

This checkbox and field are absent in my copies of LO 4.0.6.2 and LO 4.3.5.2
running on MacOS 10.5 and 10.6 (although there's a suspicious gap in that
window under LO 4.0 where I suspect that checkbox used to be).

I downloaded the oldest LibreOffice version available (LO 3.3), and confirmed
that this checkbox is absent there as well; hence this problem seems to have
been inherited from OOo.

So this is not, in fact, a new feature request, but a feature that was once
present (in OOo?), and is still documented in the LO Writer Guide.

Pedro: your issues sound very similar to what I have with my Intel HD3000 on
Thinkpad T520.

Regarding 1), do you mean even the start center will not appear? In my case,
the start center works, but it crashes or hangs when I try to start *any*
application.

I am currently building master on Windows with --enable-dbgutil so I will be
able to get a full log of the issue.

I can confirm with LO 5.2, win7 and powerpoint2010.
It's some kind of "old" type of chart, because when I double click on chart in
powerpoint2010, it says something like "do you want to convert chart into new
format?"  After this conversion I can see "Chart properties". But after resave
in powerpoint2010 is x and y axis still the same in LO.

Brent, is it problem only in Jive software or do you observe this also in
charts created from scratch in powerpoint?

I'm creating address labels.  I registered a spreadsheet as a database, then
used the Mail Merge Wizard to create address labels.  In the finished product
after the file has been created with all the info in the spaces, and the wizard
prompt is all finished, it will not allow me to edit individual labels besides
the master label.  This is a BIG problem.  Thank you for your help.
