Of course. The code would be invalid without them.

Yes, I can. I waited for confirmation that it actually fixes the problem.

I am a KDE user and at least the checkboxes are fixed in 5.3. I don't remember
seeing those other issues, but they might be fixed as well.
Unfortunately the Ubuntu PPA does not currently serve 5.3 beta 1, which would
include the libreoffice-kde package. You would have to build it yourself.

Setting to NEEDINFO while we wait for you to get access to 5.3 with KDE
integration.

I confirm this annoying bug.

Happens only when scrolling with touchpad (mouse wheel scrolling works fine).
It is also fixed by launching env SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk libreoffice --writer
for example.
I am on Fedora 25 / Gnome DE.

Some of the combinations works well.

My dev build:
not reproduced: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk ./soffice
not reproduced: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen ./soffice

Ubuntu's 5.2.2:
reproduced: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk soffice
not reproduced: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen soffice

Besides the problem, there is a drawing glitch with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen when
changing the window dimension.

Only with 5.3, looks like an OpenGL issue with it disable show the problem but
works fine with it enable.

Thank you for the link to the previous report. I missed that one!

The workaround is really a bit clumsy. And if you forgot to name the element
it, you run into very same problem.

I can think of two possible improvements:

1. Make the pick cursor the arrow and not the grab hand. Change the cursor to
the grab hand only if the main mouse button is clicked to show that the object
can be moved now.

2. Highlight the object under the cursor.

I believe that option 2 is the better one. It also follows current practice in
CAD programs. Maybe it's also possible to combine 1 and 2?

2016-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

There is no bug in the BASIC engine. In the example cited, add "Option
Explicit" to generate an error in the interpretation phase. At this point,
"Erl()" is initialized correctly with the number of the line and "Error()"
contains the correct message and Err() contains the correct BASIC error number.

Without "Option Explicit", Erl(), Error() and Err() are respectively 0, "" and
0.

2016-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103690

I’m far of an expert, and I don’t want to intrude. But maybe it’s wise to
investigate the cause a bit more deeply, before acting. I should note that:
- I have two macOS 10.12.1 installations: one for testing, one for regular
usage. Only the testing system, on which I installed XCode, is badly affected.
It seems to be some sort of file corruption, because I have trouble with all
versions I tested (4.4/5.0)
- On my regular system I have had some issues with a few daily builds (around 5
November) crashing SIGSEGV 11 on launch, but I haven’t had an issue with LO
5.2.3.3 or more recent daily builds.
- On my regular system I’m able to crash Activity Monitor with SIGSEGV 11 in
some circumstances while starting LibreOfficeDev, but I’m not sure whether it’s
related.

How about enhancing the outlines selection in order to make appear only the
corners or the dots corresponding to the point of the intersections of the
lines in those corners, so that, for example, you could have outlines in one

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104242] Drop OpenGL as the default rendering on Windows builds and use GDI based rendering for its better layout support

2016-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104242

Moving away from DirectWrite sounds like going -horribly- backwards; there is
no good physical font API prior to DirectWrite - so we will continue to encode
rubbish font metrics into documents and create an ongoing support nightmare. I
would strongly prefer to use eg. freetype everywhere than existing legacy GDI
font rendering APIs.

This needs some serious thought, code reading, and ideally some better hardware
for Khaled - which I'm working on.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104249] New: Pie charts created in Writer - data labels format settings reset upon opening a saved and closed .docx file

2016-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104249

Bug ID: 104249
Summary: Pie charts created in Writer - data labels format
settings reset upon opening a saved and closed .docx
file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: laughsw...@gmail.com

Description:
I'm working on page 26 of a document that will most likely surpass 50 pages.

I format data labels for the pie charts, save the settings, then at some point
close the .docx file after a day's work. Every time I open the saved document
to progress further, I need to reformat every pie chart because the data labels
have been reset and have defaulted to original settings.

Disappointed that my formatting changes have been reset, I have to reformat the
pie charts every time I open the .docx file to progress further. I have to
right click and click on "Format Data Labels."
Then click on the "Font" tab to click on "Bold" for a Typeface that has been
reset to "Regular."

In the same data label formatting window, I need to click on the "Font Effects"
tab to select the different "Font Color" I specified from the default setting
of "Black."

Thirdly, in the same data label formatting window, I need to click on the "Data
Labels" tab, click on "Percentage format..." to uncheck "Source format" so that
I can select the percentage format to be whole numbers ("-13%" is the example
given) instead of going by the default percentage format with two decimals
spaces after ("-12.95%" is the example given).

I save the settings, work on the file some more, then close it after a
satisfying day's work -- only to find upon reopening the file that the data
labels on the pie charts have reverted to original settings and I have to go in
there again.

To say that this is exasperating is an understatement, as I have been working
on this document for the past two weeks, adding to it on a more or less daily
basis.

I hope you can come up with a fix for this bug in time for me to complete this
report.

Actual Results:
Data label formatting of pie charts reset to original settings, even after
formatting in the .docx file has been saved. Upon opening the .docx file, I
have to go in there every time to reformat the data labels to the pie charts.

Expected Results:
I would expect that after I have saved the settings that upon reopening the
.docx file I would be able to see that the formatting of the data labels for
the pie charts would remain saved.

Reproducible: Always

@Justin: could you formulate a solution?

Personally, I'm not in favor of "save last-used-state in the user profile"
approach.
Could we proceed (for docx and maybe xlsx in this bug) with this "save the
status inside the document" for all types?
Could we add a related option (in another bug) "Make tracked changes visible
when opening or saving" with: Show Changes, Note Changes, No Changes, As Saved
in the Document.

Should we also add something like "note changes" (aka "simple markup"), that
should show only (the already existing) line aside to changes (but changed from
black to red color) and change Show Changes button to drop-down with Show
Changes and Note Changes? This is a separate bug but I'd like you to confirm
before I submit it.

So for consistency, we should change .uno:InsertPageNumber towards a toggle
function which shows or hides the page number. The function itself should be
disabled when there is no footer. Since master slides define page numbers
on/off this option should be also taken into account.

Sounds like an easyhack to me. Code pointer is in comment 5.

A form is mainly a Writer document (with rare exceptions for Calc sheets), but
in this case Hans' forms are Writer documents, so whoever is a Writer expert,
perhaps ?

@Hans : if you save the form outside of the Base ODB file, and then try to
reload it separately into LibreOffice, do you still get a crash with the same
error message ?

the toolbar manually before, and 5.1 had Record button visible by default)
* "There is a red circle and I imagine the idea was to have it turn green when
'on" - if you're referring to Record Changes button, it's pressed when turned
on, which is quite fine, no need for color change
* "same problem for show changes vs. do not show changes" - same solution, just
keep the buttons in the toolbar, they are pressed when in use.
As you said, it's an off-topic discussion, so we should not proceed on this
here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104251] New: Writer crashes on closing documents after template-changes had been accepted

2016-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104251

Bug ID: 104251
Summary: Writer crashes on closing documents after
template-changes had been accepted
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jweberho...@weberhofer.at

Test template

Whenever I do a change in a template and accept this change for to be used in a
document based on that template LO crashes when I close the document. It does
not make any difference if I save the document or not.

Reproduce:

1) Copy the "Testvorlage.ott" to your template directory
2) Copy the "test document.odt" to yout template directory
3) Edit the document's meta.xml so that it uses the correct template path
4) Open "test document.odt" and accept the changes to be used in the documents
5) Close the document without saving it

LO will crash:

My Environment: openSUSE Leap 42.2 with the latest Libreoffice release. I have
also seen that problem with older LO versions. The problem must be related to
the content of the files, because it took me a while to generate a simple
template causing this issue

This is a Uno api change, that need first to be aproved by ESC, then the
consequences for 3rh party programs. This requieres insight.

The two commands/slots are served by the same Execute function and the same
branch in switch-case, see here:
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sd/source/ui/view/drviews3.cxx#289

Afaics it has been like that since 2004 when the feature (header/footer support
in Impress'n'Draw) has been added

If you ask me, it's slightly substandard UX, but I'm "just" a developer, not a
UX expert
