[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98403] UGX currency displayed as “Ganda”

This problem was not resolved when reported and still exists in the new 6.0.0.3
release. There is only one currency in Uganda (the country where the Ludandans
are only one tribe of many live) UGX or USh for Uganda Shilling and 42 local
languages from 23 language groups. It is obviously not a good idea to tie
language and currency together unless you are prepared to have a many to one
relationship. The fact is there is no Ganda currency, there is a Uganda
currency issued by the Bank of Uganda which was established in 1966, by Act of
Parliament of the Ugandan government. ISO 4217 assigns the Ugandan currency the
alphabetic code "UGX" and the numeric code "800" and the currency name "Ugandan
shilling".

The Ganda people (Bugandans) only represent 16% of the population of Uganda. If
you are worried about linking Uganda with UGX/USh and want to maintain the
Ganda then you need to add the following list or you are disenfranchising 84%
of the Ugandan population or about 30 million people.

UGX USh Acholi
UGX USh Adhola
UGX USh Alur
UGX USh Aringa
UGX USh Bari
UGX USh Elgon
UGX USh Ganda
UGX USh Ik
UGX USh Karamojong
UGX USh Kiga
UGX USh Kuman
UGX USh Lango
UGX USh Lugbara
UGX USh Lussese
UGX USh Ma'di
UGX USh Ndo
UGX USh Nkole
UGX USh Nyoro
UGX USh Pokot
UGX USh Soga
UGX USh Soo
UGX USh Teso
UGX USh Tooro

By the way I noticed (and raised a different ticket for it, but the Kenyan
Shilling (KES) is not available at all.

2018-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 115438
Summary: Pasting unformatted text over selected text causing
LibreOffice Impress not to respond
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lili...@gmail.com

Description:
If you copy some text and decide to paste it as unformatted text, while text in
at least two bullets (points) is selected... it will cause LibreOffice Impress
to hang, i.e. not respond.

I attached working presentation. In my case, it happens every single time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the presentation from attachment
2. Go to the first slide and copy the text in text-box
3. Go to the second slide
4. Select text in two bullets (you can also select all text, but don't select
only first bullet)
5. Go to Paste Special -> Unformatted Text

Actual Results:
LibreOffice is not responding. Force Quit is the only solution to this problem.

Expected Results:
Existing two bullets are replaced with the text from clipboard, keeping
formatting from the second slide.

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115439] New: SVG-Icons should be preferred over PNG

2018-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115439

Bug ID: 115439
Summary: SVG-Icons should be preferred over PNG
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzil...@cb-computerservice.at

Description:
In the current Icon-Sets there are already some Icons that exist in png AND svg
versions. During my research for Bug 114699 I noticed, that the png versions
can be deleted and LibO then uses the svg-versions of those Icons. Result is,
that those Icons looks WAY better (perfectly sharp, no alias) then the upscaled
png-versions.

So the question is, why does LibO still prefer the png-versions over the
svg-ones?

Steps to Reproduce:
Open Writer (for example) and look at the icons.

Actual Results:
They look badly (at least on HiDPI Screns).

Expected Results:
The svg-icons should be used instead which look way better.

Reproducible: Always

Clicking on "play" seek-control doesn't move. Dragging the volume-control

Aside from the time stamps and printer metadata, saving an unmodified calc file
in .fods format changes a lot of "style:name" entries in the xml file. The
style:name values seem to be just swapped around. This causes a lot of diff
noises in the xml file even when no modification is done on the format or in
the content.

Sorry about the "new", I didn't know. As for enhancement, libreoffice doesn't
have the currency that is used by 48 million people in one of the worlds new
high-tech areas. I would hardly call that an enhancement but more like an
omission that needs to be fixed. Enhancement means adding something new, this
is something left out, there are already currencies in Libreoffice why would
Kenya be left out ?

For the test, could you take a look to:

1) Try to rename your LO directory profile and give a new try
2) Try to disable OpenGL and give a new try
3) Did you install any specific fonts? If yes, could you disable them and try
again?
4) Do you have 1 or several monitors?

I agree. And in fact, for users friendliness, older default fill colors should
be in there too (After all, we don't change that so often :) )

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91130] Smaller default font name list

(In reply to Ole Tange from comment #10)

Interesting idea - and I added it right to the presentation I held at FOSDEM
yesterday. You find the slides at
https://de.slideshare.net/HeikoTietze/improvements-to-font-handling-in-libreoffice

But I doubt that a multi-column dropdown is a good solution. You need some kind
of overflow mechanism anyway, meaning vertical or horizontal scrolling is
required. Could be solved, but even more important is the question if users
need and want this large selection at once. IMHO the goal is to quickly select
one item/font and not to show as many as possible.

Just my first impression. Plan is to discuss the whole story in the design team
and to figure out how all aspects can be solved. You are very welcome to join
us.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115441] New: LOO uninstaller removes the fonts bundled with LOO from the operating system

2018-02-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115441

Bug ID: 115441
Summary: LOO uninstaller removes the fonts bundled with LOO
from the operating system
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fabien.fel...@gmail.com

Description:
LOO 5.4.4.2 -> LOO 6.0.0.3 - 64bits - Windows 10

As shown here:

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/144640/what-happened-to-open-sans/

it seems that LOO uninstaller removes the fonts bundled with LOO from the
system. Indeed, I updated to the new LOO 6.0.0.3 from LOO 5.4.4.2. For that, I
used the LOO 5.4.4.2 uninstaller and then use the LOO 6.0.0.3 installer. On LOO
6.0, the fonts 'Open Sans' and 'PT serif' has been removed from the LOO fonts
bundle. So, at the end, the update process just silently removed my Open Sans
and PT serif fonts from my operating system. Note that those fonts were fonts
that I installed manually, they were existing on my system before any LOO
installation.

So, I am not arguing with the choice of removing Open Sans or PT serif from the
LOO fonts bundle. Nevertheless, the point I really want to highlight here is
that LibreOffice.org uninstaller (ie future LOO uninstallers) should not remove
any fonts from the system without prompting. This is not a nice practice for
the people who use those fonts with other software: suddenly, some fonts are
gone and the users might not relate the root-cause with a LOO update or LOO
uninstall process.

I can understand that the LOO team would prefer an uninstaller that does not
ask anything to the user. But in that case, the default behavior of the
uninstaller should be to keep fonts on the system.

Does this proposal sound reasonable?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LOO 5.4.4.2
2. Check that Open Sans and PT serif fonts are there
3. Uninstall LOO 5.4.4.2
4. Install LOO 6.0.0.3
5. Open sans and PT serif fonts are not present on the Windows OS anymore
6. This tends to show that LOO uninstaller removes fonts bundles with LOO

Actual Results:
LOO uninstaller removes fonts bundles with LOO.

Expected Results:
LOO uninstaller should not remove fonts bundles with LOO (this is a personal
opinion)

Reproducible: Didn't try

Only one monitor. Renaming LO profile did not change anything (new one created
at startup, still crashing). Neither did the fact of sabling the only font I
had added. But disabling OpenGL seems to do the job: I could open the file
without crash.
Strange enough, on another PC (same OS and LO versions, but much older) I do
not get the crash. The one on which I have problems is has a couple of months
of "age" (I can paste here the configuration, if that may help).

LO 5.3.0.3 under Linux openSUSE LEAP 42.2:
the same bug as with Windows.

If I try to insert the button controls directly into the tab pages, I don't get
an error, but no buttons inside as well. Most likely it's all the same
internally. In short:

  oTabPage1 = CreateUnoService("com.sun.star.awt.tab.UnoControlTabPage")
  oTabPage1.setModel(oTabPageModel1)
  oButton1 = CreateUnoService("com.sun.star.awt.UnoControlButton")
  oButton1.setModel(oButtonModel1)
  oTabPage1.addControl("Tab 1", oButton1)

It's a pity.

Problem still present in 6.0.0.3. There are some more places where differnt
units of measurement are used: i.e. in the table properties dialog in writer
(see attached screenshot). I think it's confusing for users to work with
different units.

A solution for me would be to in the "tools" menu enter an item in the
"General" section to "lock files Yes or no", the default being yes and the
option no.
Thus when a file is saved or closed the "lock files yes or no" is checked, and
if no is not set the file is locked.

Can not reproduce on Intel HD Graphics 620 with Windows 10 (v.4815) driver and
OepnGL rendering enabled. Nor when I update to the build v.4901 Driver from
Intel (15.60.2.4901).

I have AVI mime configured to play with VLC v.2.2.6 media player. No change if
I change system to associate Windows Media Player with .AVI--no visual
glitches.

Version: 6.0.0.3 (x64)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115101] Form Editing, Table Control, Add Field, adds wrong items

Have retested today on newer LO versions:

5.4.6.0 linux
6.0.0.2 linux
6.0.0.1 windows

This bug is now gone.

Don't know what killed it. But the behavior of the drag is different now.
When dragging I now see a circle with a slash when over un-dropable ground, so
someone fixed this bug, perhaps in a different component.

When is "WorksForMe" used vs "Fixed"?

I would have thought WorksForMe meant, "I tested it, and it works for me"?

In this case I'm pretty sure somebody fixed this somewhere in LO, probably as
part of an underlying library, and in response to some other bug in calc, or
word, etc.

Recall that I have a video attached here showing it actually failing for me,
and now it works differently with the newer versions. It didn't just start
working on it's own I don't think.

Thanks Robert.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115435] FORMATTING, EXPORTING: Automated hyphenation doesn' t work when exporting to EPUB

Image as proof of bug

I'm unsure what more info I'm able to give (someone changed it to "needinfo"),
so I just attached this screenshot showing the bug. Works in Writer, doesn't
work in EPUB. eBook window is narrow in order to leave more possibility of
hyphenation. In Writer, bold words are the ones hyphenated.
