[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116298] Hide/Show grips of Sidebar decks are too intrusive

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116298

After de-installing libobasis5.4-kde-integration, the background-color of the
handles changed from black to the one you can see in attachement
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=140513.

That's an improvement. The other colors didn't change and still match the
color-theme.

Doing the same for LO-5.3 didn't have any negative effect, everything looks
like before.

So it seems that on my system (KDE-4) "libobasis5.x-kde-integration" is not
necessary for LO-5.3 and actually impairs KDE-integration for LO-5.4.

Making the handles less intrusive or even obsolete should still be an urgent
design-goal, imo.

Broken menus in bibliographic DB for 6.1

As you can see in the attached screen-shot, in the bibliographic database for
LibO 6.1 there is a "ghost menu" that has no name. The main problem here is
that you cannot find the options on that menu unless you start clicking in the
blank space, because there is no indication that that menu is there.

On 6.0.5 there was a different menu layout, without "ghosts."

Bug still exists in 6.2 daily build.

To be clear, it's only the color of the text that is wrong (black instead of
white), the color of the center shape is blue in PowerPoint as well. Yes, only
the text color was mentioned, but the screenshot could be confusing, as it
shows the original center shape as yellow.

many thanks for suggesting I reset the user profile. After doing this LO no
longer crashes and I have been able to print a document without making a PDF
version of It for the purpose. So it's not a bug with LO.

What is interesting is that many people seem to be having similar issues with
the latest version of 6.0 - see
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/145748/i-cant-print-anything-from-60/?answer=161878#post-id-161878
to which I added my problems (and will now update with the solution).
I wonder why - can the download somehow be corrupting the profiles??

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116298] Hide/Show grips of Sidebar decks are too intrusive

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116298

(In reply to Rainer Fiebig from comment #17)
> Making the handles less intrusive or even obsolete should still be an urgent
> design-goal, imo.

Reality is that Tomaž spent a fair bit of time on these widgets to ensure they
function well for our lowres users on legacy hardware in addition to our
growing community of HiDPI. The draw their colors from theme of the DE.

As noted comment 14, we probably should remove the show/hide grip button from
the second "detached" Navigator deck.

Not clear the design can really be improved without additional control logic
for the widget--an effort simply not justified. And certainly not "urgent" in
any sense.

But, patches always welcome...

IMHO => WF

@Tomaž, any thoughts on a solution? And, how hard to remove the grip from

1. I opened attach file in LO 6.1.0.3 on Windows 10 and tried copy/paste slide
with many shapes. I have about 3-4 sec for paste new slide!

don't confirm long time paste of slide on >>>Windows 10<<<.

2. Really, if save ODP to PPTX, then size of file will be VERY small (about 1
mb)! And this PPTX opens fine in LO, it has all shapes and photo of man in
right-bottom corner of slide.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119257] New: SVG export of non-horizontal measure shape has displaces dimension value text

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119257

Bug ID: 119257
Summary: SVG export of non-horizontal measure shape has
displaces dimension value text
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 144155
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=144155=edit
File to reproduce the displaced text

Open attached document and select all. Export the selection to SVG. Import the
produced image. Notice, that the rotated measure shapes have wrong text
placement.

The error is, that the positions of the text parts are transformed in addition
to the transformation of the entire text.

Correct behavior: Calculate the position of the text parts as if the text is
horizontal. Then transform the entire text shape, so that it has the correct
rotation and translation relative to the dimension line of the measure shape.

This is not inherited from AOO, but I see it in LO version 5.1. My Version 4
produces total wrong svg-files, which cannot be imported. So likely no
regression but wrong from the beginning.

Crash reports go back to 5.2 (introduction of the crash reporter); rather old
bug I guess. I'm noticing timer/solar mutex in the trace. So might be
non-thread safe process. LibO might be still updating a treelist of all
Variable fields when pressing OK (or something like that). Because of a long
list or because lots of CPU load.

However, this is pure speculation from my side (not a DEV). I'm mostly wrong
;-)

It's possible that this happens more often (without being the root cause),
because of

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76622] Feature Request: Brush Tool (Transfer Format from Cell to Cell) : Enhance with STRG / CRTL Key

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76622

Gerhard Weydt changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEW |RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |NOTABUG

The description of the desired functionality is incomplete, if not defective:
what does "to some'other' cells" mean, why has the connection of cells -
directly or indirectly - anything to do with the function of the brush, namely
copying the format. If you don't provide precise examples, I do not understand
the problem.
Moreover, double-clicking the brush keeps the format settings for every cell
you click on afterwards until you click on the brush again, so I see no need
for another key combination to do the same job, and then, as I believe, in a
less understandable way: who should know what Ctrl+Brush will do after some
other clicks, and if it works only immediately after setting the brush, then
the solution of once setting the brush by double-clicking is easier
understandable and already working.
I will set the status to "resolved/notabug" then, to remove it from the bug
list.

The title of this bug ("Formatting fails") is so general that surely no
developper will look at it. The first commenters should have noticed that,
instead of only commenting.
So I'll change the title to a more precise description of the problem.
Here's an actual description of the problem: Setting "Text alignment" to other
than left and Text Orientaition = "vertically stacked" works well as long as
Properties -> Wrap texts automatically is off. If it's on, then alignment at
least doesn't work.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

This bug report seems to me outdated: I just copied the complicated formula
"=$B$13/(B7*2)*(F7-F3)*$B$7" at the bottom of your comment to a new Calc
document in LibO 6.0.4.2. The different parts of the formula are coloured with
different colours (in the display of the cell content), and the concerned cells
are coloured with the same colours, even for the references with absolute
addressing.
I set this bug to resolved.

This is a dup of bug 119259.
I've used the crashfile for ubuntu as I've got multiple versions on that one.
On windows it's

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119233] Trackpad click handling very slow on MacOS, leads to randomly moving objects in Draw

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119233

I've attached a test file. To reproduce the problem, click on the image and
immediately move the cursor with the trackpad after releasing the click.
Observed behavior: the image gets dragged along and moved. Expected behavior:
the image is selected and the cursor moves.

It's a bit strange, because I'm having a lot harder time reproducing the
problem than yesterday. Before, I repeated the problem dozens of times and it
would happen with any of the objects: text boxes or lines. But now it just
happens with the image.

I've tried to determine if anything has changed since yesterday to provide more
information. CPU load was low both times (if it gets high I hear the fan run).
I hadn't restarted LibreOffice. It's not a memory leak or something since I saw
the problem yesterday immediately after installing new versions. It's not my
laptop, since I've seen the problem both on MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The
problem is independent of the sidebar. Most of the time I have a fairly large
image in the drawing, so maybe that's a clue.

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106572] FILEOPEN DOCX: header position becomes page margin

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106572

Several problems here. The first problem to deal with is that the first page is
not receiving the "First Page" pagestyle. That is related to the super tiny
floating table as the first item in the document. Removing that table results
in the first page style showing up. see commit
2e8aad6d45c53d554ccaf26de998ede708cfc289 Author: Vinaya Mandke CommitDate: Thu
Apr 24 12:57:51 2014 +0200
fdo#39056 fdo#75431 Section Properties if section starts with table

(Emulation is creating first/follow pages styles instead of different firstpage
header in the same style. That is normal, and necessary because the way Word
and LO handle sections is completely different. So no worries about comment 10.

And that leads to the First/Follow page being totally different. This is
something LO simply cannot do, and gets pretty confusing. In Word, what you
see on page 1 is the first-page header for section 1. Because of continuous
section breaks the follow-page header is never seen, and neither is the
first-page header for section 2. Page 2 displays the follow-page header of
section 2. (LO has nothing comparable to continuous sections. Since there is no
page break, LO has no way of knowing when to switch to the next page
style[Converted2].) This is a CANTFIX.

Dynamic height is also at play in the header size, but that seems to be
legitimate.

Does this happen with a single shape? Or are we taking about other objects? Or
a larger file. A sample file would be practical.
