At least we face a (minor) inconsistency with an option that is not applied
correctly. Or do you have a good use case to change pt into cm, mr. bordfeldt?

Two units would be a good step ahead, for sure. But I suspect there are many
scenarios where you need the micromanagement. For example, talking about Draw
as worst-case you need A4 with points and lines to create a poster but
meter/inches to scribble a floor plan. Sometimes you scale things and that
requires percent.
So while I totally agree on a sensible global configuration with two options or
per-module configuration, we'd support working with different units very easy
when switching per-control would be possible (and since this feature is a
"hidden gem" it has no negative bearing on usability).

This is the wrong code. numeric(10,2) isn't a part of the CAST-function in the
code. Try
CAST(SUM("fieldname") as numeric(10,2))

Works here as expected with LO 6.1.5.2 on OpenSUSE 15 64bit rpm Linux.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Mark,
Getting there. Slide transition sounds are now roundtripping perfectly! And
Animation sounds are now imported. However, when you roundtrip attachment
145684, the animation sound,"wind.wav" is lost.

Also, PowerPoint will not play the audio in the roundtripped version of
attachment 145688 (inserted custom audio).

Should I file a new bug report or you do want to continue to track them here?

The main problem is in the part around
filter\source\msfilter\msdffimp.cxx#4606.

There
XPolygon aXPoly( aPolyBoundRect.Center(), aPolyBoundRect.GetWidth() / 2,
aPolyBoundRect.GetHeight() / 2, static_cast(nStartAngle) / 10,
static_cast(nEndAngle) / 10, true );
is called. It should generate a clockwise Béziercurve from start angle to end
angle. But in case of the test document, a wrong curve with a very short arc is
generated.

With this short arc, later on in #4608, a rectangle aPolyPieRect with small
width is generated. That leads to a far to large fXScale in #4639 and a totally
wrong fXOfs in #4627.
As a result the new bounding rectangle and thus size and position of the shape
results in the values posX=-927.66cm and width=522.83cm, which you see in the
Position dialog in the loaded file.

The solution should be, to do not use these old methods from _xpoly.cxx, but
make a solution, where the essential calculation is done with the methods from
basegfx.

Don't know how that one could slip through TBH. Probably Google Translate or
something. That kind of composition is grammatically unsound in lots of
languages and should honestly be avoided. It doesn't work even when you just
introduce grammatical gender as in most Romance languages or if word order is
flipped. But short-term your solution is fine.

Bug ID: 123853
Summary: Feature request: Automatic canvas resizing when new
shape is positioned outside page/canvas current
boundaries (UI)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: laurent.terr...@gmail.com

Description:
Suggestion: like Visio, add on option to automatically resize the canvas
dimensions when one new shape is positioned outside the canvas current limits.
Currently the user needs to reformat the page manually to make sure all his
shapes are inside the page boundaries...

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Position a new shape outside page boundaries

Actual Results:
Page dimensions don't change and shape is outside the page.

Expected Results:
Page dimensions change automatically to encompass the new shape

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123852] New: Drag-and-drop file link for SVG image disappears after save and reopen

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123852

Bug ID: 123852
Summary: Drag-and-drop file link for SVG image disappears after
save and reopen
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.5.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: wpeat...@gmail.com

Description:
Normal behavior: if you drag and drop a file into Writer while pressing
CTL+SHIFT, the file will be inserted as a link.

If I insert a PNG file this way, I get a linked image in my document that
persists after I save and reopen.

If I insert an SVG file this way, I get a linked image in my document. It shows
up as a link in Edit...Links. But if I close and reopen, link disappears and
vector image is replaced by some sort of bitmapped version.

If I insert a linked SVG file using the Insert...Image command or from the
Image Properties dialog, then the link is preserved

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag and drop linked SVG image into Writer document using CTL+SHIFT
2. Save file
3. Open file. Vector image is replace by bitmap. Link disappears.

Actual Results:
Vector image is replace by bitmap. Link disappears.

Expected Results:
Vector image remains. Link is preserved.

Reproducible: Always

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

In addition to *.xlsx and *.xlsm formats *.xltx is supported thanks to bug
99438 fix in LibreOfficeDev Calc 6.3.0.0. Calc can't create or run excel macros
but should still be able to use the files and retain that functionality for
excel after the files are saved.

@Markus_Mohrhard I think you are over-thinking it. I agree it could be nicer
but as you say "not just a simple fix".

Why can't the "export for XLSM ... hacked into the normal XLSX export" be used
changing the ContentType if a template parameter is passed to it? (Prefer to
take discussion offline.)

Hello Julien, I bisected it with bibisect-linux-64-6.0 and checked again now:
git checkout 6732187a5e96aae5874511c3cb7f74a04eaee660 -> bug is here
git checkout HEAD~1 -> bug is not here

Maybe my bisect is bad for another reason like bibisect repo, my enviroment
etc. Feel free remove bisected keyword. I'll try bisect it on windows later.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123752] EDITING: Regression in handling of the group separator in formula context

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123752

What happens is that 12_345,67 (here with '_' for the no-break space) is
lexically tokenized to

12
_345
,67

which then leads to three numbers 12 and 345 (because there in the number
parser the no-break space is just a leading space) and 0,67 (from which stems
the extra 0 because a leading decimal separator is allowed), which then with
the formula tokens concatenated as strings produces 123450,67

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121011

Personally I'd simplify all this to label strings and tooltips. Having the
proposed (and mistyped in comment 1) "size or % relative to base style" would
already make user aware of the option to use this (which was the initial
rationale); and additional tooltip telling that it's possible to also use other
units (like in, pt, mm, etc) would drive it further. Only after implementing
simple helpers, more complex solutions should be invented.

The description of Bug 72662 is about not using the standard, universally
accepted units for font size and line spacing. One proposed solution makes it
easier for the users to work around this UI failure. However it not clear at
even that poor solution would directly fix this issue without further work.

A much better solution would be to directly address this specific UI issue,
rather than try to come up with a generic fix that makes the user micromanage
units that shouldn’t have to be micromanaged.

attachment 149725 shows how WordPerfect gives the user a choice in an instances
very similar to this where they can choice multiples vs line spacing in its
natural unit, points. Writer does something similar with a drop down.

It's much better to address cases like this individually, rather than expect
the user to constantly manage every type of unit. We have natural units for a
reason.

There are several issues here.

1) Two decimal places is not enough precision to represent inches for line
width. See Bug 44267

2) The natural unit for line width is point. See Bug 72662

3) For the conversion issue: 1 point = 0.013889 inches

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123849] New: Opening time is crossing 5 Second which should not be more than 2.5 Seconds after a double click and file Compatibility of other users are compromised

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123849

Bug ID: 123849
Summary: Opening time is crossing 5 Second which should not be
more than 2.5 Seconds after a double click and file
Compatibility of other users are compromised
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: roshantkuriak...@yahoo.in

Description:
I am using this software since i first started using Linux i.e Ubuntu
Distribution of it and was facing a lot of compatibility issues with it,
recently however I'm able to fully trust the entire suite and even ready to
donate some amount out of my pocket whenever I'll have cash in my pocket. My
only concern however is that the opening time crosses 5 seconds while opening
the docs after a double click or else even starting from the "start screen".
Another problem I'm facing is that I may be able to open up other users files
but others are facing issues using their Microsoft Office 2007. Please help
ASAP. I'm using

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Double Click/Open Through the Start Screen of Libre OOffice on any Office
Suite files created using Microsoft Ofice
2.Other problem happens when you have saved the file using Libre Office and
then try to open it using Microsoft Office Suites (Especially Spreadsheet and
Ecel).
3.That's all!

Actual Results:
The files take a lot of time to open.
A file Saved in Libre Office Suite Does Not open or rather shows that the files
are corrupt and is unusable by the others who use any other software.

Expected Results:
The File Must open Smoothly without any error and also within 2.5 Seconds after
being Double Clicked or else opened from the Start Screen of "Libre Office"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The Software is not properly marketed to everyone looking for free and open
source software i.e. places like govt. offices and schools etc. We cannot
expect others to install a software just for our sake. So please market this
software to the maximum places mentioned in the example above. Spread The
Word!! Break Some Eggs!!!

If one has to hit Enter after ~r, it's not a SHORTcut any longer!
With other editors (Open Office, Notepad, Notepad++, SciTE), just hitting the
key (r, or ~r) does the replacement and searches for next.
Besides, the shortcut ~x is immediate, does not require the user to press
Enter.

Confirmed.

Note though that "Grand" is a distinct translation unit and to form the final
string is combined with the function's name, in this example "Sum" to form
"Grand Sum". Other are "Grand Average", "Grand Count", ...

So a "Gesamtsumme" like in this example is not possible. "Eintausend" is
complete nonsense of course.

Suggestion: translate "Grand" as "Gesamt", so the combined text will be "Gesamt
Summe", "Gesamt Mittelwert", ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72662] Different Measurement Units for Line vs Page Properties (e.g. point vs inch)

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72662

The UI and precision problem demonstrated in Bug 115266 is yet one more reason
all instances of fonts size, line spacing, and line width should be represented
in points, their natural unit.

Expecting the user to constantly toggle units back and force because we use the
same unit for quantities that have different natural units makes no sense. The
obvious solution here is to do what every other OfficeSuite does and use the
natural units of measure.

For 99.9% of users forcing them to find the location of this feature and
micro-manage it, it a waste of time. It's UI design failure. I strongly
disagree that we should make the micro-managing easier for the other 0.1% of
use cases. For the rare case when you do not want to use the natural unit, you
can always do the conversion manually. With the added bonus that you avoid the
precision, issue of Bug 115266.

Yep.. the problem appears to be related to the split database mode.

When using it, the values of the first row truncate and/or show wrongly.

Using an embedded HSQLDB database, the issue won't occur.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 123848] New: "Compare Document": Changes misrepresented as new document sections

2019-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123848

Bug ID: 123848
Summary: "Compare Document": Changes misrepresented as new
document sections
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: smith.kenn...@hp.com

Created attachment 149720

When two revisions of one of our specification documents are compared using
"Edit" --> "Compare Document", some changes are mislabeled to be in a different
section, which makes review (online or offline) very difficult.

I have tried to move our organization (IEEE ISTO Printer Working Group) to
LibreOffice from Microsoft Word, but the document comparison limitations seen
in these cases makes it very hard to work with "-rev" revision document
reviews.

Reproducing the problem:

1. Open the attached "wd-ippauth-20190304.odt" document.

2. Do "Edit" --> "Compare Document", and choose the other attached document
"wd-ippauth-20190117.odt"

3. Make note of the sections and formatting. One area to watch is the sections
on page 15 (section 3.2 - 3.3).

4. Do "File" --> "Save as...", and save the new document as a different
document.

5. Go to page 15

Expected behavior: No new sections will have been created.
Actual behavior: A section 3.3 with all strikethrough text will be created. The
new section numbers throw everything off.
