Oops - I forgot to wrap the numbering in in this example. And yet MS
Word seems to honour it anyway. So this is not really a valid example document,
although it does show a difference. Bug-for-bug...?

Dear Asif Ali Rizvan,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

With 7.1.3 or with current master
Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: f616d96bd8ce8986e4cc204953db0467e6060b5c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

RenderMethod: vulkan
Vendor: 0x8086
Device: 0x8a52
API: 1.2.170
Driver: 0.402.1274
DeviceType: integrated
DeviceName: Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics
Denylisted: no

The issues for 'smooth scroll' with Skia/Vulcan rendering do not manifest.

So seems to be limited to the Intel UHD Graphics 630, and the denylist should
maybe include a hardware element for the intel GPU chipsets.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 138906] [rfe] Grey-out predefined Categories in Delete Category dialog in Template Manager

2021-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138906

I uploaded a new patch. I removed the category selection dialog and hid "Delete
User Category" menu item for builtin templates. I didn't grey-out it because of
the different behaviors of the VCL plugins.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138246#c12 Or should I do
it anyway? Currently rename item is also hidden in some cases (except for
builtin categories).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141982] New: [EMF] SetWorldTransform/ModifyWorldTransform support for non-0 m12/m21

2021-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141982

Bug ID: 141982
   Summary: [EMF] SetWorldTransform/ModifyWorldTransform support
for non-0 m12/m21
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f...@df.ru

Description:
LO seems to fail to properly apply affine transformation matrices with non-zero
m12/m21 components (rotation or shearing the shapes).

For the simple case with rotated rectangle LO seems to apply transformations to
top-left and bottom-right corners than draw rectangle with an updated bbox.

Steps to Reproduce:
Load attached EMF sample in LO.

Actual Results:
EMF file is not rendered properly

Expected Results:
Proper support of EMF_SETWORLDTRANSFORM and EMF_MODIFYWORLDTRANSFORM

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
More samples are available by request

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 134607] LO7RC1 - LANGPACK macOS language pack fails to recognize LibreOffice 7 installation as valid on Catalina and Big Sur

2021-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134607

Idem on
Version: 7.1.2.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8a45595d069ef5570103caea1b71cc9d82b2aae4
CPU threads: 2; OS: Mac OS X 10.11.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: fr-FR (fr.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Test also with LibreOffice Language Pack in the App Folder.
And with or without extension name

Sorry, this is the first report for me.
So, there's probably not a lot of new information, just confirmation that's
it's still not working on last version of LO, and old version of MacOS

Enabling Writer's "Smooth scroll" (Tools -> Options -> LibreOfficeDev Writer ->
View)

With Skia:

1) Skia/Vulkan the buffer swaps get very choppy, and the Skia performance check
would toggle the mode selector to Raster.

2) restarting with Skia/Raster the buffer swaps and effective "scroll" is
animated *very* slowly, just creeping up or down (but somewhat smooth).

Default GDI:

view port buffering with default GDI rendering and Writer "Smooth scroll"
enabled was reasonable speed. Either on the Down/Up arrows, or the scroll bar
below or above the Thumb.

Why would Skia/Vulkan be that choppy?

Rather than throwing the Intel Vulkan 0.402.1274 into the deny list, is there
something to be done with the Smooth scroll?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58440] EDITING: moving columns/rows with overwrites instead of ousting

2021-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58440

I did some messing around with it and found a workaround. Holding down Option
will copy the currently selected column and allow it to be inserted next to a
target column. The original column could then be deleted.

I haven't tested this on Linux (will try to do that later) or Windows, so I'm
not sure if there's a similar workaround.

Excel supports moving cells by:

1. select a column/row
2. hold shift while clicking at the edge of the column next to a cell, not the
header
3. release the click in the desired location before releasing shift

This works on my Mac (Catalina).

When Writer smooth scroll is checked enabled, it only responds to the controls
of the Writer Scroll Bar, by mouse click & hold on:

Down arrow,
Up arrow,
Scroll bar below the 'Thumb',
Scroll bar above the 'Thumb'.

Test that way.

You mean, on the clipboard in each of the icons?

> even in flashy manner a user can be distinguished the difference.

It needs a quarter-second of concentration... and even when you notice there's
some sort of difference, you have to figure out what it means:

* "What does 7.4 mean?"
* "Why is the second piece of text the same color as the clipboard? Or is it
the same color? What's special about orange?"
* "Is the first button disabled? Its text is gray."

> There's no almost hiding object in the icon.

The clipboard captures attention better than the number on it; and its details
take up as much, or more, area than the number on it.

> Let's see again with current icon size plus label.

I doubt that it will be sufficient, but I'll be patient...

This problem was triaged earlier today, and there is already a fix for it. I
don't know why not more iser have encountered the problem, perhaps those who
have upgraded to 7.0 while it was still a "fresh" release, haven't used data
validation much.

I'm afraid I can't really answer the deep technical details, possibly after the
continuous doubling in the value, it's too much to handle after a while.
Looking at the ODF specs, this is also related to the spaces, and denotes the
number of spaces a element represents:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#attribute-text_c

I'm marking this as duplicate of bug 137945 for now. Thanks for reporting!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105550] FORMATTING Pasting text changes paragraph format in older ODT (because it introduces list style)

I understand, thanks (maybe you mean ctrl+shift+alt+V, "Paste unformatted
text"). But this also removes the character style from the pasted text. So I
have no way to paste text with the characters style retained but not the
paragraph style.

I see the different view: IMHO selecting characters and pasting them should
paste what I selected (the characters and their style) and not more (not the
paragraph style).

Thanks again for looking into this.

did a driver update (27.20.100.9466)

RenderMethod: vulkan

API: 1.2.170
Driver: 0.402.1274

of course no deny list for this current driver. But not clear to me if this
also needs to be added to the Skia deny list. Overriding the Skia deny list for
the 0.402.743 driver and using Vulkan had no issues.

I did note some issue with handling the view port buffering when Writer smooth
scroll was enabled with either driver and this GPU. Filing another issue for
that.

I guess I should have mentioned that I skipped Catalina version completely and
so I had not upgraded beyond, Yosemite. So Tim saying that the problem existed
for him for 2 years (If he was staying up to date on MacOS) is not inconsistent
with my experience. Maybe it has been a problem for previous version as well
and I just missed since I stay away from the bleeding edge.
Btw, this morning while using Calc, while changing column width by dragging
column header border, it is blanking everything downward to bottom of the
window below where the mouse is dragging (but not the column header row
itself). Sometimes when you first begin the resize the blanked area has some
weird magnified graphic artifacts. When you release the trackpad dragging, the
display returns to the normal gridlines and cell contents. I had not noted
that before today.

Yes, Raji has received the full triaging curriculum and has also been present

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141729] document content not displayed / instead showing grey overlay / blank region in writer and calc (macOS 11 aka 10.16 using 2.9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7)

Thanks for your thoughts, steve.
I just installed version 6.4.7, also here the "writer-bug" occurs. Just like in
7.1.3.1 (RC1).
As John described, it is only visible in "Normal view", it disappears in the
web layout.
As I said, this was the main reason for me to delete LO from my Mac altogether
- except for periodic attempts to revive it.
I didn't find anything in Google searches about it for a long time, so I
decided to join here at the Bug Report...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128784] Basic documentation - Files & Directories outdated content

2021-04-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128784

A quick update on this bug.

ChDir, CurDir and ChDrive documentation have been updated for 7.2:
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/03020401.html?DbPAR=BASIC#bm_id3150178

This was done by [1] to explain that these methods are deprecated and may be
removed in the future.
[1] https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129114 (see comment #3)

What I suggest is to add a note recommending the use of the ScriptForge
FileSystem service for all of these soon-to-be-deprecated functions.
https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/sbasic/shared/03/sf_filesystem.html?DbPAR=BASIC#bm_id41582391760252

As for CompatibilityMode no changes have been made so far. I just don't know
exactly what aspects need to be updated in the help page.

As I had this ready in the edit buffer anyway..

Either disable regular expressions under Tools -> Options -> Calc -> Calculate
(set to Wildcards for Excel compatibility, or no wildcards or regular
expressions at all), or if you want to keep them enabled to be active for other
expressions enclose the search text in \Q...\E to force literals, in your case

=HLOOKUP("\Q"& $J$9 &"\E";...)

(you could omit the closing "\E" in this case where it is the very last
switching quoted literals off).

Right, I am using my computer as wished. That's for reproduction.

In a scenario outside of testing, you'd receive it from someone else without
knowing the password.

I would like to note that other implementations of OpenDocument already ignore
it, and any "protection" it gives is placebo at best.

This is not a bug.

As described in HLOOKUP documentation [1]:

> The search supports wildcards or regular expressions. With regular
> expressions enabled, you can enter "all.*", for example to find the first
> location of "all" followed by any characters. If you want to search for a
> text that is also a regular expression, you must either precede every
> character with a "\" character, or enclose the text into \Q...\E. You can
> switch the automatic evaluation of wildcards or regular expression on and
> off in Tools - Options - LibreOffice Calc - Calculate.

The parentheses (and many other elements) are parts of Regular Expression
syntax [2], and since your document has regular expressions enabled, the
parentheses are considered capturing elements of regular expression, not
literal search characters.

Make sure to not use regular expressions in formulas, or to properly mask the
strings that should not be treated as regular expressions, as described in the
help.
