Problem description:
When I open a spreadsheet that I created in 3.3.4, some of the formatting went
awry. A formula in column AR the sheets Feb-Dec went wrong and displayed an
error.

Furthermore, there should be double-line borders on every second row of the

1. Open file in 3.4.4 and 3.3.4
2. Compare the sheet Feb in both versions, and notice the errors in the 3.4.4
version.

Hello there, as the summary says, the sfx2 module in master acts weirdly on my

Attached is the build log. I am not 100% sure of what's is going on, but my
guess is that it could be related to gcc 4.6.2 (builds only the .src files)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44219] Cairo subpixel rendering different in 3.5.0 beta2 vs earlier versions

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44219

--- Comment #8 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com 2012-01-05
02:09:43 PST ---
I'd echo Caolan's ask - we need to match what the system is doing; annoyingly
my panel / pixel ordering is not the same as yours - so the text looks terrible
anyhow. Do you see noticable false-coloring too ? If so perhaps your options
are busted as well. It also appears that in the new no settings world the
setting to tweak this has disappeared - most odd.

It seems that gtk+ gets those from the settings:

gtk/gtksettings.c- g_object_get (settings,
gtk/gtksettings.c-gtk-xft-antialias, antialias,
gtk/gtksettings.c-gtk-xft-hinting, hinting,
gtk/gtksettings.c-gtk-xft-hintstyle, hint_style_str,
gtk/gtksettings.c-gtk-xft-rgba, rgba_str,
gtk/gtksettings.c-NULL);

Which it seems come from various XSettings, which come from:

gnome-settings-daemon/plugin/xsettings/gsd-settings-manager.c
(xft-settings-get):

order = g_settings_get_enum (manager-priv-plugin_settings,
FONT_RGBA_ORDER_KEY);

Where order is from dconf at:

org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/xsettings/

#define FONT_RGBA_ORDER_KEY   rgba-order

Which can be tweaked in dconf-editor to any of the value of that enumeration
provided: which may perhaps help (if you're running GNOME).

Now - IIRC, Cor runs KDE - so ... perhaps this is also an issue; I wonder if
gtk+ is relying on getting it's sub-pixel order from an XSetting that KDE is
simply not providing - if so, it's rather a more problematic problem.

But - as Caolan says - we can tell that from seeing a screenshot of gedit on
the same desktop quite easily ;-) give us a full-screen screenshot as a
straight attachment with gedit and LibreOffice side-by-side if you would :-)

Thanks !

It is pity but we do not have debuginfo packages available for the official TDF
builds. They are often available for distro-specific builds, though.

Anyway, it fails in:
#14 0xae4ec872 in SmartTagMgr::LoadLibraries() () from
/opt/lodev3.5/program/../program/libsvxlo.so

Could you please provide also strace log? It might show what library can't be
loaded. See hints at
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_strace_log_.28on_Linux.29

BTW: What distribution are you using? I am not able to reproduce this on

I see this also on Linux with 3.5.0-beta2-x86_64 build.

To be more precise. I could write a text into a cell but when I press enter,
the text disappear.

I am not sure of the bug is in Writer or Calc = I rather add both experts into
CC. Also I am going to add this to most annoying bugs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44491] New: FORMATTING: In-cell hyperlink management not well designed

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44491

 Bug #: 44491
Summary: FORMATTING: In-cell hyperlink management not well
designed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: edmund_ey...@hotmail.com

LibO on Windows XP.

You can assign a hyperlink to a cell using Insert-Hyperlink. So far, very
good.

However:
1. Calc provides no way to edit such a hyperlink. The only way to change an
existing hyperlink is to insert a new one from scratch.

2. Calc's method for deleting a hyperlink leaves a lot to be desired. It can
be done through the 'Clear direct formatting' command, which removes a lot else
along with the hyperlink. It is also hardly an intuitive command to use when
you want to achieve this.

I would suggest that we need a Format-Hyperlink menu option. The dialog that
would be displayed from this would allow the hyperlink to be edited, and would
contain an option to delete the hyperlink.

Sorry, but IMHO this is exactly what read-only file means, i.e., you can read
it, but you cannot write into it, so it is not very useful to allow editing. If
you really want to edit it and then save it elsewhere, it is not so big deal to
switch the document to editing mode (hey, it is just one click!) Or you can
change the mode of the file before editing it (granted that you have sufficient
rights to do that). Or copy it elsewhere and then open the copy.

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 44494

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Beta2
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: v...@ukr.net

Hello!
I have discovered today that in LibreOffice Writer the Aligned at and
Indent at parameters for the list numbering position are not applied. The
only way to manipulate the number positions is to treat each list item as a
paragraph and set the appropriate paragraph Before text, After text and
First line parameters to obtain the desired numbers positioning.
It looks like a bug to me because changing the Aligned at and Indent at
fields in the Format - Bullets and Numbering - Position dialogue does
not provide any changes at all.

  Thanks.
Vladimir

I am unable to reproduce this with LO-3.4.5-rc2-x86_64 on SLED11-SP1. I do not
see any extensive CPU or memory usage.

I know that it is a bit painful because it reboots the system. Though, are you
able to reproduce this?

It is possible that the problem is not caused by the many dialogs but with a
particular style or font. If you are able to reproduce this, please, try to
remember what style or font you selected just before the crash.

BTW: LO-3.3 is pretty old. We do not longer provide bug fix releases for this
code base. You might consider to switch to LO-3.4.4. Note that LO-3.4.5 is
going to be available the following week.

Hmm, this looks like a corner case. It is hard to reproduce and not so common
scenario = can't block the release = lovering the severity a bit.

It is not a fix for this bug. It was just a fix for a related problem I
discovered during a quick look at the code. There is no easy fix for this
problem without more investigation.

Normally the commit message should read: related fdo#43911 but that did not fit

Hi Markus,

Have you been able to test it, with the 2000 column test file I have
uploaded?

I think the quick fix of this problem is to increase the Max Column Limit
during CSV import. It seems that the limit is 1024 now. More practical limit
would be 8192 or even better 65536.

Thank you,
Cem

I have now tested the old Oracle 1.0.1 connector on both Mac and Linux with
recent builds from master (builds from within the last week). The connector
installs and functions on both OSes in the tests I have conducted so far, so
perhaps this is after all a Windows only problem ?

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44116

--- Comment #5 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz 2012-01-05 07:52:01 PST ---
I have found three interesting things in the strace log:

1. It did not find libnss_db.so.2. I wonder what this library is for and who
requires it. I do not see it here on my SLED11-SP1 system. Could you please try
to install it? It might be in a package called nss-db or so.

2. It aborts close after looking for com/sun/star/beans/PropertyState.class. It
might be somehow related to the java stuff.

It aborts inside SmartTagMgr::Init during the SmartTagMgr::LoadLibraries. The
Init method does something with beans as well.

Please, try to install the package
lodevbasis3.5-extension-beanshell~cript-provider if you do not have it yet.

3. I see that you have installed the extension ReadabilityReport.oxt. It is
written in java and it might be related.

Does it help you to uninstall it?

If nothing helps, could you please try to run the application with the default
user configuration? You could do something like:

1. quit LO
2. save the old configuration:
   mv $HOME/.config/lodev/3 /home/eroux/.config/lodev/3.old1
3. run LO again

Under LOdev 3.5.0beta2 (Build-ID: 8589e48-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978)
under XP there are still a few matches to OOo, some of which should be worked
on.

The links under 'Contents - Welcome to the LibreOffice Calc Help - Getting
Support' under Heading Getting Support you will find lots of links (it seems
- only) to OOo have disapeared though (German help).

For example there is a link to the OOo-Website (http://www.openoffice.org/)
under
`Definition der XML-Formate´: Here´s the German text which I don´t understand
anyway:

Das Schema für die OpenDocument-Formate finden Sie auf der Website
www.oasis-open.org. Die DTD- (Document Type Description) Dateien für die
älteren Formate können im Installationsverzeichnis gefunden werden. Beachten
Sie, dass die Formate bestimmten Lizenzen unterliegen. Hinweise auf die
Lizenzen finden Sie am Anfang der DTD-Dateien. Genauere Informationen finden
Sie auf der Webseite von OpenOffice.org.

Another example is Danske Synonymer linking to da.openoffice.org

Recovered ODT Writer document displayed in Word and Writer

All OpenDocument files created with LibO 3.4 or 3.5 are considered as invalid
by Microsoft Office

The ODT documents I've created with LibO 3.4 and 3.5 are still considered as
invalid by Microsoft Office 2010. Word 2010 offers to recover the file content.
If we let it do, most of the file content is recovered.
After saving the recovered document in Word (still as OpenDocument format), the
borders I had applied on titles and paragraphs are removed.
If I reopen this recovered document in Word, it's no more considered as
invalid, but the borders have disappeared.

If I re-add the missing borders in Word and open again the document in LibO 3.4
or 3.5 or Word : the content is well displayed.
This feature is thus managed by Word.

If I save this document with LibO, Word considers it as invalid, but after a
second recovery the borders are displayed in Word !

I reproduced this invalid behavior with .ODS, .ODP, .ODT, but not with .RTF.

Can someone confirm this problem with Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 (Microsoft
Office 2007 can manage OpenDocument format only from the SP2) ?

I am getting the error BASIC runtime error. '91' Object variable not set. on
LOdev 3.5 with the simple macro below...

Option VBASupport 1
Sub test

I think the Importance flag should be changed to something higher but I'll
leave that to someone else.

Understand your changes. 3.3.4 is the latest for Ubuntu Natty, which is only
one release behind.

Will try to reproduce on another machine. This original one is too busy to
crash again :)

one clarification: I was looking for styles, and clicking modify on styles,
without canceling the previous dialog box ( I couldn't see it ). The font I was
looking for was Courier10pitch, but mostly I wasn't finding it, so the font was
Arial, Times New Roman, or CourierNew - the standard MS fonts.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44502] New: Improve Doxygen-generated SDK C++ documentation

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44502

 Bug #: 44502
Summary: Improve Doxygen-generated SDK C++ documentation
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO Master
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: sberg...@redhat.com

The LibreOffice UNO SDK contains HTML documentation for the C/C++ entities that
make up the interface of the UNO runtime environment (reached from the
sdk/index.html starting page via the C++ Reference link). This documentation
is now extracted from the relevant headers (modules sal, salhelper, cppu,
cppuhelper, store, registry) with Doxygen. In the past, it used to be
extracted with LO's own tool autodoc, which however had serious shortcomings.

Most of the documentation syntax is the same for Doxygen and autodoc, but there
are some differences, and Doxygen additionally warns for some things that
autodoc silently ignored, like a misspelled @param foo that does not match
any actual parameter name. Running doxygen at odk/pack/gendocu thus produces a
large number of warnings. Some of them have been cleaned up with the initial
commit
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=58ab12acf576a765ec47cc2753ba57643e51d653,
but lots still need to be addressed.

Additionally, the documentation could need some general clean up, anyway (e.g.,
consistency in using full stops or not at end of documentation phrases, add
missing documentation, use proper markup).

Third, the branding of the generated HTML uses the default Doxygen settings
and thus looks rather different from what the old, autodoc-generated HTML
(still there at http://api.libreoffice.org/docs/cpp/ref/index.html as of
today). The odk/pack/gendocu/Doxyfile could probably benefit from some more
tweaking.

(It is of course OK to only work on some part of this rather broad issue.)

yes, libreoffice-kde4-3.4.4.3-1.1.x86_64 was installed, I removed it and the
crash no longer happens. It looks rather old school and no longer integrated
into KDE. Kind of like StarOffice back when I started using that :)

BTW, 3.4.4 is the latest version of libreoffice-kde that I can find. maybe
when the next rev comes out the KDE integration will be fixed. Oh these rpms

A Qt problem? I doubt it.

But I will fire up gnome and see if the problem disappears.

BTW further tests show that the mail merge is able to send exactly mail to the
1st record before it crashes.

If you are right then this Qt problem happens right after sending the first
message.

In any case it is still a regression as this did work in the previous version
under Kubuntu.

 (In reply to comment #3)
personally I doubt that there is any use case where
more than one or two thousand sheets are really usefull. For everything else
  you should not use calc.

 +1 of course :)

 So why 32000 ?

Originally we did not want to set any sheet limit but there are some uno
interfaces involved which use signed 16bit values and are therefore limited to
32768. Since we use some of the last numbers for special internal purpose it
was my decision to limit it to 32000. That just sounded better than 32733 or
something like that.

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO Master
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer

Patch to fix bug

Summary
---
In the Edit - AutoText dialog, if an entry is selected and then a group
selected the delete/rename/etc actions are still shown in the AutoText button
menu when they should not be. These actions are only applicable to entries and
if a user attempts to apply these actions while a group is selected the list
box becomes corrupted and leads to a segfault (the code for these actions
assumes the selected entry has a parent in the listbox).

Exists in MASTER and 3.4.4 (Fedora distro build).

Steps to reproduce
--
* Edit - AutoText
* Create a new group (i.e. with the Categories button) and add a new entry
under this group (select some text in the main doc, Edit - AutoText, enter a
name in the Name field, select the newly created group, click AutoText -
New).
* Select the newly created entry in the list box and then select the group
name.
* Click the AutoText button and the Copy/Replace/Rename/etc actions are
incorrectly shown.
* For example, click Rename and enter a new name.
* The entry is now incorrectly added as a top-level group in the list box.
* Keep clicking the different group names for 10 sec - segfault.

Patch
-
Attached is a patch that ensures the Copy/Replace/Rename/etc actions are not
shown in the AutoText menu when a group is selected. I believe this is the
correct behaviour and is what happens when you first open the Edit - AutoText
dialog i.e. before you actually select an entry.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43911] FILEOPEN problem: trying to import big csv file leads to maximum number of rows exceeded after 1000 imported rows

2012-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43911

--- Comment #9 from markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com 2012-01-05 14:21:03 PST ---
I think the quick fix of this problem is to increase the Max Column Limit
during CSV import. It seems that the limit is 1024 now. More practical limit
would be 8192 or even better 65536.

No. We won't increase the column limit soon. First we would need to rework all
internal cell datastructures like I did for sheets in 3.5. We still use fixed
size containers for columns. That means that increasing the column limit will
increase the the memory needed for every sheet extremelly. The column limit of
1024 is a design decision by us.

If you are really in need for LibO with a bigger column limit you can easily
build one yourself and I tell you the line you need to change to increase the
limit.

This bug report is about the wrong error message and not about the the column
limit of 1024 in 3.4+, 256 till 3.3.

@Caolán:

I am confirming my problem happens under KDE and not Gnome.

Just tested the following:
-Under KDE switched from oxygen-gtk to Raleigh. In the past this solved
certain troubles with Firefox and Evolution. In this case it does not help at
all.
-Installed gnome package and opened another x session (so keeping kwin as
window manager) selected type as gnome. Sent test email merge, no crash.

So for now this is a useful workaround.

I understand and ack your technical comments.
However, this bug report (which I opened) is about the data not being fully
imported. At the beginning I thought it was a limit on the rows, but
 apparently
it is a limit on the columns (possibly a wrong error message).
Fact of the matter is, the main issue for me was that I had to open and edit
the file using Microsoft Office, because libreoffice could not open the file
 correctly for further editing.

Hi Markus,
I also have found my way to this bug report only because I have a 1600+
column CSV file that I am trying to import into LibO.
So, our hopes is to convince developers to increase the Max Column limit, or
that they switch to a dynamic size column container approach in order to use
necessary memory.
Is it the final decision that the distributed official LibO version will have a
Max Column limit of 1024 in the near future releases? And people like me will
have to modify the Max Column limit and recompile/recreate a special LibO
version for our needs?
Thank you,
Cem
