https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44575 Fridrich Strba fridrich.st...@bluewin.ch changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever Confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Fridrich Strba fridrich.st...@bluewin.ch 2012-01-11 02:52:33 PST --- This one is actually more complicated then it sounds :) The libwpg's API that libvisio shares was designed with SVG as target in its mind primarily. There, the text formating is very limited, and it was designed for text that does not wrap and stays on one line. With the Visio file-format, we extended this until the point where we could without breaking the ABI/API. The proper way would be to send tabs, line-breaks and similar elements not as a part of the text stream, but as separate elements. I started to rewrite the libwpg's API (in libwpg git master) to allow the text boxes inside graphic document with the same rich formating as in writer text boxes. This will be in libwpg 0.3.x and in libvisio 0.1.x. Only not sure when that will be. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44669] New: Disabling Display-Zero values doesn't affect OLE-spreadsheet in Writer doc
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44669 Bug #: 44669 Summary: Disabling Display-Zero values doesn't affect OLE-spreadsheet in Writer doc Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.4.4 release Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: bugzi...@a-x.name VIEWING * What's wrong * Disabling Display-Zero values doesn't work on a OLE-spreadsheet included in a writer document. If one double-clicks the sheet object to edit it Display-Zero values works as set in Calc preferences, but when going back to the document in Writer the zero show up again and do so also in printing. The logical behaviour would be that the viewing of the OLE-obj would follow the setting in Calc -- or that you could at least set this display zeros somewhere for the OLE-object. Now it's totally out of user control. * How to reproduce the bug * Open Calc. Tools menu - Options ... - LibreOffice Calc - View - Display. Disable Zero values. Create a new Writer doc. Insert a OLE object Calc spreadsheet in the Writer doc. Double-click to edit the spreadsheet. Enter a zero in a column. Move to another column and the zero is not visible (according to the setting you just made in Calc). Click outside the OLE-object to go back to Writer doc editing. Now the zero becomes visible. I can not confirm the Missing scroll slider problem, but IMHO the horizontal scroll arrow buttons are interchanged. The right one works direction column A and the left one to direction column AMJ, what might be correct. But the arrow icons are to the wrong direction. This wrong icon problem for me also is reproducible with Farsi UI and Math, DRAW and WRITER are not affected. May be there are some problems with different results in WIN and Linux? Or we even have 2 issues? @Yotam Benshalom: What's your result when you switch to English UI? Is this a new problem or did you already observe it with former versions? Some additional hint: there is no way to open a document normal. You can do it from Start center, from Stat Center File dialog, from Document File dialog, from WIN Explorer, from Desktop context menu, ... . [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34355] Use margins to track changes
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34355 --- Comment #6 from Leo H leo.h.hildebra...@gmail.com 2012-01-11 06:51:09 PST --- The key issue is that the Compare Document functionality of LibreOffice Writer is woefully inadequate. For example, type (without quotes): LibreOffice Writer. Compare Document. Save as version1.odt. Then add one space at the start and one paragraph marker after the first period, as follows (again without the quotes): LibreOffice Writer. Compare Document. Save as version2.odt. Now use Compare Document to identify the changes in version2.odt relative to version1.odt: We simply get the full text twice, and EVERYTHING is marked as changed, either as inserted or as deleted. Now try editing and version comparison not of a page with just four words, but of a 40-page report or of a 250-page book: This is simply a catastrophe with whole coloured swathes of repeated identical or near-identical text, but all identified and marked by LibreOffice as completely different. CONCLUSION: Compare Document in LibreOffice Writer at the moment is completely clueless and completely useless. Yet fine-grained comparison of versions of a document is an absolutely essential function, eg in editing, in collaborative projects, and similar. The way is which the results of good fine-grained version comparison are presented (eg, in the main text, in a margin, in balloons, or otherwise) is less relevant than the very ability itself to compare and identify precisely and exclusively all true changes. And this also applies to footnotes, endnotes, fields, headers, footers, frames, etc, which are currently completely ignored by LibreOffice Writer Document Compare. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Extensions AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: michael.me...@novell.com When we do our first-ever startup, we index help files from our internal extensions. This causes us to startup Java - which can take easily 5-10 seconds which makes our first-ever start rather horribly slow. This is also the last java usage (I think) during first-start. We also pay this price when searching in the help for the first time too so ... it'd be nice to fix. The help indexer lives inside l10ntools/source/help - which builds the indexes, and is re-used at first start for any installed extensions (I think). This is mostly C++ anyway - with an horrible blob of 500 total lines of Java (188 ';' lines) to link to the Java lucene stuff - it should be fairly trivial to re-do. Then the run-time uses of that should be in xmlhelp. The Access Lucene via XInvocation line in xmlhelp/source/cxxhelp/provider/resultsetforquery.cxx com.sun.star.help.HelpSearch This has another 600 lines (155 ';'s) in xmlhelp/source/com/sun/star/help/ that badly need to die in similar fashion. Hopefully the file format is the same between clucene and lucene replacing xmlhelp/source/com/sun/star/help/ so we can do one bit and then the other, but it shouldn't be a huge bother to do both at once. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44664] Calc PRINTING: printer prints Landscape page orientation as Portrait
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44664 --- Comment #3 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz 2012-01-11 07:55:31 PST --- I am unable to reproduce this with the steps in the comment 0, LO-3.5.0-beta2 on SLED11-SP1-x86_64, HP LaserJet P2015dn. I tried both Printer Language Types: PDF and Poscript Level 2. So, it is probably related to some types of printers or other settings. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 38541] Performance: do not update a chart during data range modification
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38541 --- Comment #7 from Kohei Yoshida kohei.yosh...@gmail.com 2012-01-11 08:09:25 PST --- One thing we could do is to update when the text box gets de-focused. Right now it updates when the user stops typing for a few seconds, which is not that bad, but sometimes we draw very slow. Or, we could do a combo. Re-draw the chart when the text box gets de-focused, or when the user stops typing but make the wait period longer (say, 10 seconds). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
