[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45069] New: New dialogue for manual page break Edit or Removal is flickering on mouse over

2012-01-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45069

 Bug #: 45069
Summary: New dialogue for manual page break Edit or Removal is
flickering on mouse over
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC1
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: andis.lazd...@gmail.com

There is new great feature in Writer for edition of manual page beaks; however
this dialogue is very complicated to use, because it flickering all the time on
mouse over. So it is impossible to push it. The dialogue appears for a longer
time (may be 2 seconds) only when mouse cursor is located near the top of page.

Hi,

In LibreOffice, constant array separators are :
row separator ;
column separator . (or , with locale using . as decimal separator)

so SIN({1;2;3}) produce an column array. (A1:A3)
if you want an row array, use SIN({1.2.3}) for cells A1:C1

Closed not a bug.

It works for me when the contents of the cell is highlighted. You don't need to
click on the border: highlight the cell then click inside and drag it in
another place.

Tested with LO 3.5.0 rc1+ under Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64. And with LO 3.4.5 (Ubuntu

remained 1.1. because auto number recognition inactive
4. Menu 'Tools - Options - LibO Writer Table - Input into Tables' all 3

Perhaps LO need legacy filters to do the conversion. And they are not installed
by default under MS-Windows. Did you install them ?

That said LO should not crash but it should display an error message.

Hi Thomas!

I've been using OpenOffice since this report as the bug made LibreOffice
difficult to work with.

02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M96 [Mobility Radeon HD
4650]

Attaching Xorg.0.log -- this has been overwritten many many times since the
report because every time I travel between home and office I have to fully
reboot (twice per day on average). Some times, the system will fail to
completely boot or it'll hang shortly after KDE starts requiring a second
reboot. This has been occurring since I installed the 64-bit OS. However, I
wasn't running the 32-bit OS long enough on this new-to-me hardware to blame
64-bit for all my issues which make me feel like I'm running a really buggy
MSWindows95 again... (not trying to mix bugs; just adding additional info
because I've not yet got to a point where I can blame the hardware, the OS, or
both.)

I haven't installed additional filters. All the default components were
selected during the installation : any checkboxs have been unchecked.

It is not a bug, it is only that the tabulation size after the numbers is to
small. Setting it to 1.75 cm will solve your problem.

--- Comment #6 from gordon.l...@dsl.pipex.com 2012-01-22 04:13:56 PST ---
 shouldn't it be #8208 instead of 8209

No! As your quote notes, #8209 is the nonbreaking hyphen character, which
*is* what is needed here! That is a hyphen which is *always* displayed but
*never* breaks.

A soft-hypehn is one at an optional break which is only displayed if the break
occurs, while a hard-hyphen is one which is always displayed even if there is
no break - but a break is allowed. So both of these allow breaks. The whole
point of a non-break hyphen is to prevent breaking, while still displaying a
hyphen

I believe currently fix in 3.5 is sufficient because simple workaround (Paste

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45074] New: Failed symbol dependency from builtin libstc++ DSO

2012-01-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45074

 Bug #: 45074
Summary: Failed symbol dependency from builtin libstc++ DSO
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC1
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gordon.l...@dsl.pipex.com

The distribution of LibreOffice for 3.5.0RC1 contains it's own elibstdc++.so.6
DSO, and things are set up for that to be used ahead of the system
libstdc++.so.6.
However - this version is not the latest, and so libraries which are used from
the underlying system install (as the LO install does not include them) can
fail to load because of missing symbol version dependencies.
Hence this:

 [parent]: /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/soffice
 /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/../ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/libproxy.so.1)
 Failed to load module: /usr/lib64/gio/modules/libgiolibproxy.so

The supplied libstdc++.so.6 only goes up to GLIBCXX_3.4.9

Since I don't actually use a proxy this may not affect me directly (I was only
running 3.4.5RC1 to check out another bug) but it may well affect others, and
there may well be other library dependencies which would affect me.

Similar things have been reported before (see, e.g. Bug32852), but that report
has been closed a No a Bug. However, I reckon that if I can't load libraries
which are needed in certain circumstances then that *is* a bug.

Screenshot of dialog with bad encoding

Grammar checker for russian has bad encoding.
I found a solution to the problem with the encoding.
If you are using version 1.4.3 Lightproof development framework, then
obtain a usable extension with the correct configuration dialog.
Version 1.4.4 creates files with the wrong encoding.

Simply upload my fixed files to LibreOffice 3.5 to fix encoding problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45076] New: FORMCONTROLS: Form controls don't retain their position and size

2012-01-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 45076
Summary: FORMCONTROLS: Form controls don't retain their
position and size
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Gradual changes of control's position and size

Problem description:
After saving the document, and opening it again, form controls (buttons,
drop-down lists) aren't at the position they were at before saving, and their
size is changed. After repeating the proces several times, the position and
size are changed dramatically. This can be seen in screenshots attached, where
first image is document before closing and opening it again, and last one is
after 4-th saving/opening (I entered 1 in one cell, and erase it, just to make
the change).

Text on butons after 4-th opening/saving is almost unreadable. This makes my
document almost unusable.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a document, put some controls on it
2. Save document and close it
3. Open document - control positions and size is changed

Current behavior:
Controls change their position and size after saving and opening again

Expected behavior:
Controls should be at the exact same position where I left them, and at the
same size as I left them.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit, LibreOffice 3.4.5 from official PPA

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45077] New: External items in gallery extension have bad path

2012-01-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45077

 Bug #: 45077
Summary: External items in gallery extension have bad path
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC1
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Extensions
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: kami...@gmail.com

If you install gallery that contains external links (instead of embedding
vector graphic) to jpeg or png files the external files can not viewed from
LibreOffice. The path of such images has wrong value. For example:

The real path of gallery element is:
~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu1ik7gv.tmp_/OOOP-accessories-2.7.0.0.oxt/gallery/Draws/People/Baboo1.png
after the gallery extension installation however the LibO search it in:
~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/user/gallery/Draws/People/Baboo1.png that causes
uninsertable gallery element.

Few users also has same problem under windows too:

steps to reproduce

1- open LibreOffice Writer
2- open new document (Ctrl+n)
3- create a 1x1 table
4- save as .odt (or .doc)
5- export to .pdf

the upper border of the table is lost in the .pdf exported file.
this bug affects 3.4.4 and 3.4.5 as well.
was not present in 3.3.4.

see attachments.

I haven't tested in 3.4.0 - 3.4.3, so I can't tell exactly when the
regression took place in 3.4.x branch

I haven't tested it either in 3.5.0 RC1, so I can't tell if this bug
is still present in forthcoming new branch.

reproduced it with WinXP 32bit and WinVista 64bit.

--- Comment #1 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-01-22 06:23:30

This looks like bug 36677 (and its many dupes). See in particular comment 3 of
bug 43454:

It is impossible to fix this, because LibreOffice 3.4.4 is released and the
bug is in LibreOffice 3.4.4 installer. It was fixed for 3.4.5, see bug 36677.

Workaround: First you need to uninstall 3.4.4. It usually works in
interactive mode, or you can use uninstaller tools such as Perfect
 Uninstaller.

I suppose we now have another work-around: upgrade to LibreOffice 3.4.5 and
*then* upgrade to LibreOffice 3.5.

It remains very annoying that we cannot fix this in the *new* installer.

Ok, I did some more research.

It does not crash every time, but very often.
Maybe it depends on memory usage, but sometime it opens directly after a reboot
and sometimes not.

Is there a possibility to get more information about the problem?
Save the stack, core dump or so?

I hope Project Renaissance will be a reality for all platforms ASAP :)

I do like this motto:

Create a User Interface so that LibreOffice becomes the users' choice not only
out of need, but also out of desire

The attached image shows a screenshot while installing the MySQL Connector

Also after installing any other extensions, it looks like the extension-list

This is not a Windows specific change. Modified OS to All.

I'm not sure this is a bug. If the file is HTML it makes sense that it is
opened in the HTML editor.

Unless a rule is setup that if an HTML file only contains a table, then open in
Calc... Does that make sense?

You can still open the HTML file as a spreadsheet by opening Calc and choosing
Insert, Sheet from file and selecting the HTML file you know only contains a
table.

@Pedro:
Unless a rule is setup that if an HTML file only contains a table, then open
 in
 Calc... Does that make sense?
Partly, please see point 2.a in OP:
2.a under File type choose HTML Document (OpenOffice.org Calc) (*.html;*.htm)

This option (File type) is specifically there to open the file in Calc. Notice
also that this bug is a regression and it worked as described before.

It /could/ be that this is a knew expected behavior in 3.5, but I highly doubt
that because the File Type option (HTML Document (OpenOffice.org Calc)
(*.html;*.htm)) wouldn't make any sense then.

You can still open the HTML file as a spreadsheet by opening Calc and choosing
Insert, Sheet from file and selecting the HTML file you know only contains a
 table.
Yes, that would be a good work around.

Here's what I see in my system (Vista 64bit).
These is a comparative screenshot between the 3.3.4 .pdf (upper border present)
and the 3.4.5 .pdf (upper border missing) taken from Adobe Acrobat 8.

I redownloaded the same .pdf files I0ve attached before, so I confirm the bug
existing in 3.4.5 and not in 3.3.4. Why do you say that the 3.4.5 .pdf file is
better?

I doubt it's a matter of screen resolution since the 3.4.5 file has no upper
border in any zoom level I tried in Acrobat (even 2400%)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45088] New: : Macros from other Calc documents aren't executed when called

2012-01-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45088

 Bug #: 45088
Summary: : Macros from other Calc documents aren't executed
when called
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: zza...@gmail.com

Problem description:
I have a number of macros that open other calc documents, change them and call
some macros in them. Other calc document is opened like this:

Dim aOdsProps(1) as new com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
aOdsProps(0).name = MacroExecutionMode
aOdsProps(0).Value = 0
frame = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
MyDoc = frame.LoadComponentFromUrl(uPath, _default, 0, aOdsProps())

After some manipulation, a macro from opened document is called (the document
is called Pregled.ods, and the macro is FillIndexList):

uMacroUrl = macro://Pregled/Standard.Module1.FillIndexList
oDispatch = createUnoService( com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper )
oDispatch.executeDispatch( StarDesktop, uMacroUrl, , 0, Array() )

This works as expected in LO 3.3.3 and OpenOffice 3.3, but in LO 3.4.3, 3.4.4
and 3.4.5 simply nothing happens: macro isn't executed (macro should make some
additional changes, but they aren't done, this is how I know that it isn't
executed), and there isn't any error box that says that something is wrong.

Current behavior:
When called, macro from another document isn't executed.

Expected behavior:
After calling macro from another document, it should be executed.
