Another possibility would be to add this information to the string printed by libreoffice --version. Sounds like a command line thingy? We WIN users hate that. If my assumption is correct, it's not easy to get that info. I have lots of links to lots of server installations of builds, and when I want to get that info, I would have to check the path where the .exe are, cmd, go to path, run command, br. And sometimes I have several builds running simultaneously for comparison, currently I have to copy the Build IDs and search a hand made listing for that ID; in the list I also have the pull time / date. Not a big problem, but irksome. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48835] Provide an application menu in GNOME 3
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48835 --- Comment #5 from Allan Day allanp...@gmail.com 2012-04-23 04:42:56 PDT --- (In reply to comment #4) I wouldn't recommend removing the window decoration without removing the menu bar first (under GNOME 3, at least). It is hard to see how we can collapse all our menus down into a single top-level entry, Right, that wouldn't work. All I'm suggesting is to move a small number of application specific items (as opposed to window specific menu items) to the app menu. and the reviews of Epiphany hiding a number of menu items under some other button elsewhere were not so wonderful. Epiphany is in a transitional state. The plan is to dispense with the menu that is in the toolbar - see https://live.gnome.org/Design/Apps/Web#Tentative_Design So - unless we can put all of our menus in the shell bar, it's unclear what benefit this brings really; There are two main benefits that I can see: * Consistency with other apps in a GNOME 3 environment - we are aiming to ensure that all our apps present their app menu options here in the same way. * A more logical menu structure - splitting out options that affect all windows into their own place. doing that is a reasonably achievable goal I think, we have an abstraction for it - but the shell doesn't want that. Yeah, I don't think that modifying the top bar is a good idea. The purpose of the top bar is to: * Be the presence of the system (as opposed to applications) eg, by providing access to the overview and indicating system status. It delineates the system from applications. * Provide a visual anchor that is always present - it's a consistently available way into the system and remains in position despite other changes in state and view (inside/outside the overview, screen rotation, etc) More information can be found on the GNOME Shell design wiki page: https://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/#Top_bar Anyhow - I'm most interested in people improving this area; cleaning up menus, and/or presenting / simplifying their functionality / putting it somewhere else is fine by me; but we'd need some reasonably coherent approach to that. Thoughts on what works best here much appreciated etc. To be clear - I'm not trying to solve the design of LibreOffice's menus. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48941] xlsx document created with master can't be opened by excel
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48941 --- Comment #9 from Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com 2012-04-23 05:39:37 PDT --- (In reply to comment #8) So, I guess, the behaviour is right then? Obviously saving it in OOXML would make it difficult to open in MSO 2007 and easier in MSO 2010? Which should be fine? No. Excel 2010 can open both exported files and excel 2007 can only open files created with our export filter for Excel 2007/2010. The difference in the file is only one entry in an url but this prevents excel 2007 from opening these files. IMHO we should default to the excel export and only export perfectly standard conform files if the user requests them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Writer becomes grey and either closes or hangs. I must exit by pressing X on the upper right corner of the windows. This problem doesn't appear in Calc or Impress. During a few days, I could use the search box which was a floating box on the screen (in Impress and Calc, it's a bar on the bottom of the screen). I'm also using VirtualBox and I changed a key combination in it : the original host key is Ctrl right and I moved it to Ctrl left. It seems to me that was the begining of the problem. I moved back to initial key configuration, but without any effect. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42428 --- Comment #8 from dE de.tec...@gmail.com 2012-04-23 06:52:50 PDT --- (In reply to comment #3) As described by the title, and as explained in the discussion for issue 31481, this is not a duplicate of 31481. In 31481 people want to view 2 documents, in this issue people want to view 2 (or more) different parts of the same document. Please revert the status of this issue. Note that one can already view a document in 2 windows, and even scroll one of the windows so one is looking at different parts of the document. However, as soon as something is done in one window the other window is automatically scrolled to display the same part of the document, which defeats the purpose. No, that's not the case. I get independent scrolls here when a duplicate document is opened via Windows New Window.(In reply to comment #7) dE, Please go to the discussions/links listed in my previous comment for the reasons of the need of having a split screen instead of two windows. This is a serious one, since a pdf produced in such a way will be readable by evince for example (the usual application under linux), but not by adobe reader (the usual one under windows). Had a nice long bug report all typed up for it, but before posting tried different shortcuts... Sure enough, I could assign them to Alt-B and Alt-F, but not Alt-Left and Alt-Right :p A little more experimenting and it seems that no matter what one assigns to these combinations, all that happens is the cursor moves left and right completely normally: their shortcut function isn't activated at all. I haven't upgraded to the 5.x series yet for a number of reasons (including Bug 47764 and Bug 46155) so I'd appreciate if someone else could check that this bug still exists in the newest versions :-) Steps to reproduce: In LibreOffice Writer: 1. I see the same problem with LibO 3.5.2.2 on Linux. This an annoying regression, though not too hard to work around this problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49094] New: FILEOPEN: LibreOffice crashes on .pps files
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49094 Bug #: 49094 Summary: FILEOPEN: LibreOffice crashes on .pps files Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Presentation AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: xtr806...@xtra.co.nz LibreOffice 3.5.2 crashes shortly after opening a .pps file. There is also apparently no sound, although this may be because the program crashes too quickly. I tried the same files under 3.5.0, 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 and all crash. I have also tried the files in LibreOffice on Windows XP SP3 and Vista but all crash. If the file extension is changed to .ppt the pictures will display but no sound and if a Slideshow is started, LibreOffice crashes once more. The only error message is An unexpected error etc. Removing the Use hardware acceleration View setting does not cure the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I have tested it yesterday at 4 PC´s. One of them failed again and lost all file associations like .doc .odt .xls and so on.
