Not a valid bug report, might be one of our update problems or a user error

@pupolesno:
I still have absolutely not idea what your problem might be. You write down
some observations, but so what? Is that good or bad what you see? And Why?
Without a clear description what you expect and reasoning why you expect so we
can't find out what your problem is.
And what is so difficult to write a meaningful summary? Is Wrong is
completely useless, all reports here are about somehow wrong.

I am still waiting for your sample document.

Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you can contribute requested document
and information.

@Radek:

Here some extract of mails in lib-dev list, between me and Thorsten:

* goal of this patch and the fact it is the suspect:Answer from Thorsten:

well the goal was to decouple live cycles of Outliner and ViewShell
- sadly the change mixes a lot of reformatting with that fix. Hard
to tell if that is now causing some ripple effects. :/

Later I wrote:
---
I locally reverted
bdfbbb33a491f3ce34375de14ba33436b04
[..]
I can confirm this is the origin of the problem.
[..]
I also have to say honestly that fixing this patch is beyond my knowledge of
LibO code in this area. So if you say OK, I will push my revert to master. This
is not the most polite way of fixing it. destroying your correction, but the
one that fit to my knowledge there.

Or have you time to investigate it and fix it ? Sorry, this sounds not very
constructive, but in this period I do not have a lot of free time, so I can not
offer more.

So if you have time / knowledge to do it, it would be the best. Else reverting
it would destroy the change mentioned above. But I think for users, this is
less problematic than the current status.

Your input?
Thanks

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51357] New: SVG: Add support for more shape effects to svg documents exported by Impress

2012-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51357

 Bug #: 51357
   Summary: SVG: Add support for more shape effects to svg
documents exported by Impress
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mrcek...@gmail.com

In order to add a shape effect you need to work with the JavaScript
presentation engine:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/filter/source/svg/presentation_engine.js
Don't be scared by the fact the file is really large you need to work only on
small portions of it.
We use the barWipe shape effect for illustrating the steps to follows for
adding a shape transition:

1) Choose the shape effect from here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/sd/xml/effects.xml.
For a visual description of the effect go here:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/REC-SMIL2-20050107/smil-transitions.html#TransitionEffects-Appendix

2) For a list of transition type constant look at:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/offapi/com/sun/star/animations/TransitionType.idl.
For a list of transition subtype constant look at:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/offapi/com/sun/star/animations/TransitionSubType.idl.

If not present add the constants related to the transition you want to
implement to the JavaScript engine: search for the BARWIPE_TRANSITION constant
in the JavaScript file, the list of transition types is there; then search for
DEFAULT_TRANS_SUBTYPE constant the list of transition subtypes is there.
Near to some type or subtype constant you can see a number commented out that
number is the value of the constant in the C++ file, please keep such constants
in the correct order.
You need to update aTransitionTypeInMap, aTransitionTypeOutMap,
aTransitionSubtypeInMap and aTransitionSubtypeOutMap accordingly.

3) You can get the transition parameters to be used here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions/transitionfactorytab.cxx
For the BARWIPE transition type with subtype LEFTTORIGHT we have:

{
// mapped to BarWipePolyPolygon:
animations::TransitionType::BARWIPE,
animations::TransitionSubType::LEFTTORIGHT, // (1)
TransitionInfo::TRANSITION_CLIP_POLYPOLYGON,
0.0, // no rotation
1.0, // no scaling
1.0, // no scaling
TransitionInfo::REVERSEMETHOD_FLIP_X,
false, // 'out' by subtraction
false // scale isotrophically to target size
},

You need to port such transition info to the JavaScript engine: search for
aTransitionInfoTable, and create the correct info entry for your transition
effect. For the barWipe transition effect we have:

aTransitionInfoTable[BARWIPE_TRANSITION][LEFTTORIGHT_TRANS_SUBTYPE] =
{
'class' : TRANSITION_CLIP_POLYPOLYGON,
'rotationAngle' : 0.0,
'scaleX' : 1.0,
'scaleY' : 1.0,
'reverseMethod' : REVERSEMETHOD_FLIP_X,
'outInvertsSweep' : false,
'scaleIsotropically' : false
};

Note that there is no need to port the first two info entries (type and
subtype).

4) Now we need to modify the createClipPolyPolygon method. First off look at
the C++ implementation here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions/parametricpolypolygonfactory.cxx.
Then search for the JavaScript createClipPolyPolygon function: you will find
the lines:

case BARWIPE_TRANSITION:
return new BarWipePath( 1 );

For the transition effect you want to implement you need to add the related
case for the transition type and if it is needed also for the transition
subtype (look at the pinWheelWipe transition case).
Now the final implementation step.

5) Create the class that implements the transition effect you have chosen.
Transition effect classes can be found here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions.
For instance barwipepolypolygon.hpp and barwipepolypolygon.cxx implements the
barWipe effect.
You need to port the class related to the transition effect you want to
implement to JavaScript.
For the barWipe effect the JavaScript class is named BarWipePath.
In order to create or precompute the initial base path you can utilize helper
functions such as PathTools.normalizePath and PathTools.createPathFromEllipse,
give a glance to the EllipseWipePath class.
You can read more on how slide and shape transition has been ported/implemented
here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GSLPSIWRGSDTSi69dT9Te8tRyTJcAekxT7scoCoGO2M/edit?pli=1#heading=h.zak45bwtec07.

6) Now you need to create a presentation with Impress that utilize the
transition effect you have ported. Please be sure that the

I only understand problem described by Piotr Kowalewski.
Reducing bug to that problem it's a DUP of Bug 34467 - FORMATTING Fit to Frame

Creating text boxes due to
http://help.libreoffice.org/Draw/Adding_Text#Fitting_Text_to_Frames
works for me as expected with OOo 3.1.1 and still with AOOo 3.4, so this one is
a LibO specific regression I already observe with LibreOffice 3.3.3 German

I am not sure whether I understand your expectations. Fit to Frame is
completely broken due to Bug 34467,

Can it be that your intention was to select Fit height to Text so that box
hight will be increased as necessary?

Fit to frame should change character size of text in box when you change text
box size.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50118] calc UI Use English function names not as it should be

--- Comment #1 from joaquin narebeest...@yahoo.com 2012-06-23 04:59:29 PDT ---
Same for JAREN() instead of YEARS(), still there in release 3.5.4

How to reproduce:
- install LibreOffice
- install the Dutch language pack (and or other languages)
- start LibreOffice
- select Use English function names under LibreOffice Calc - Formula
- create a spreadsheet and use some functions e.g.

=YEARFRAC(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();1)
=YEARS(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();0)

- save the spreadsheet
- change the Language of User interface in to Dutch under Language
Settings - Languages
- restart the application
- open the saved spreadsheet
- see that the formulas now look like:

=JAAR.DEEL(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();1)
=JAREN(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();0)

So there is a mixture of English and translated function names. It does not
matter when you change the Formula preference, the combination of English
function names and a different language for the UI is not showing/using 100%
of the function names in English.

Other languages tested:

Afrikaans (seems to have no translated functions, Afrikaans without Use
English function names gives the same result):
=YEARFRAC(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();1)
=YEARS(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();0)

German:
=BRTEILJAHRE(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();1)
=JAHRE(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();0)

Spanish:
=FRAC.AÑO(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();1)
=AÑOS(DATE(2002;6;3);TODAY();0)

== seems unrelated to the default decimal separator: Afrikaans is using a .,
zo is the combination Spanish with a regional setting of Puerto Rico (or any
Spanish-speaking north- or middle American country, Mexico - Panamá) instead of
Spain or any Spanish-speaking continental south American country, it still
shows años.

Does this depend on the UI translation? Can this not be implemented independent
from the selected UI? In fact, al languages should behave the same as Afrikaans
;-) (i.e. like there are no translated functions available at all).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51358] New: SVG: Add support for more slide transitions to svg documents exported by Impress

2012-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51358

 Bug #: 51358
   Summary: SVG: Add support for more slide transitions to svg
documents exported by Impress
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mrcek...@gmail.com

In order to add a slide transition you need to work with the JavaScript
presentation engine:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/filter/source/svg/presentation_engine.js
Don't be scared by the fact the file is really large you need to work only on
small portions of it.
We use the barWipe slide transition for illustrating the steps to follows for
adding a slide transition:

1) Choose the slide transition from here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/sd/xml/transitions.xml
For a visual description of the effect go here:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2005/REC-SMIL2-20050107/smil-transitions.html#TransitionEffects-Appendix

2) For a list of transition type constant look at:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/offapi/com/sun/star/animations/TransitionType.idl.
For a list of transition subtype constant look at:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/offapi/com/sun/star/animations/TransitionSubType.idl.

If not present add the constants related to the transition you want to
implement to the JavaScript engine: search for the BARWIPE_TRANSITION constant
in the JavaScript file, the list of transition types is there; then search for
DEFAULT_TRANS_SUBTYPE constant the list of transition subtypes is there.
Near to some type or subtype constant you can see a number commented out that
number is the value of the constant in the C++ file, please keep such constants
in the correct order.
You need to update aTransitionTypeInMap, aTransitionTypeOutMap,
aTransitionSubtypeInMap and aTransitionSubtypeOutMap accordingly.

3) You can get the transition parameters to be used here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions/transitionfactorytab.cxx
For the BARWIPE transition type with subtype LEFTTORIGHT we have:

{
// mapped to BarWipePolyPolygon:
animations::TransitionType::BARWIPE,
animations::TransitionSubType::LEFTTORIGHT, // (1)
TransitionInfo::TRANSITION_CLIP_POLYPOLYGON,
0.0, // no rotation
1.0, // no scaling
1.0, // no scaling
TransitionInfo::REVERSEMETHOD_FLIP_X,
false, // 'out' by subtraction
false // scale isotrophically to target size
},

{
'class' : TRANSITION_CLIP_POLYPOLYGON,
'rotationAngle' : 0.0,
'scaleX' : 1.0,
'scaleY' : 1.0,
'reverseMethod' : REVERSEMETHOD_FLIP_X,
'outInvertsSweep' : false,
'scaleIsotropically' : false
};

Note that there is no need to port the first two info entries (type and
subtype).

4) Now we need to modify the createClipPolyPolygon method. First off look at
the C++ implementation here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions/parametricpolypolygonfactory.cxx.
Then search for the JavaScript createClipPolyPolygon function: you will find
the lines:

case BARWIPE_TRANSITION:
return new BarWipePath( 1 );

For the transition effect you want to implement you need to add the related
case for the transition type and if it is needed also for the transition
subtype (look at the pinWheelWipe transition case).
Now the final implementation step.

5) Create the class that implements the transition effect you have chosen.
Transition effect classes can be found here:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/slideshow/source/engine/transitions.
For instance barwipepolypolygon.hpp and barwipepolypolygon.cxx implements the
barWipe effect.
You need to port the class related to the transition effect you want to
implement to JavaScript.
For the barWipe effect the JavaScript class is named BarWipePath.
In order to create or precompute the initial base path you can utilize helper
functions such as PathTools.normalizePath and PathTools.createPathFromEllipse,
give a glance to the EllipseWipePath class.
You can read more on how slide and shape transition has been ported/implemented
here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GSLPSIWRGSDTSi69dT9Te8tRyTJcAekxT7scoCoGO2M/edit?pli=1#heading=h.zak45bwtec07.

6) Now you need to create a presentation with Impress that utilizes the
transition effect you have ported. Please be

Designers of M$O are not рукожопые макаки who cannot read specifications for
shit, unlike LO's ones.

Meanwhile, you can fix that document by removing \f7 from document body and
the font table (the entire {\f7\.} fragment inside \fonttbl.

Already [Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.3.3 German UI/Locale [OOO330m19
(Build:301) tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) and
OOo 3.2-dev, so inherited from OOo.

Can be easily reproduced with an own document:

1. open new Writer Document from LibO start center
2. insert unlinked.jpg by menu 'Insert - Picture - From File'
Picture will be visible at top left corner of the document
2.1 I increased size, but I doubt that that will matter
3. Save as document1.odt, close
4. Reopen document1.odt:
Looks fine
5. Save as document2.docx (MSO2007), close
6. Reopen document2.docx
Looks fine
7. Save as document3.odt, close
8. Reopen document3.odt:
   Bug: 2 identical pictures, new one does not respect margins

Still [Reproducible] with parallel installation of Master LOdev
3.7.0.0.alpha0+   - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 8d39b7]

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51359] New: FORMATTING: Chart type Stacked Columns and Lines is unstable

2012-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51359

 Bug #: 51359
   Summary: FORMATTING: Chart type Stacked Columns and Lines is
unstable
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rkeune...@t-online.de

Problem description:
Chart type stacked columns and lines changes accidentally.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a chart with at least three data series.
2. Choose chart type column and line
3. Choose sub type stacked columns and lines.
4. Set number of lines to 1.
5. Work with it for a while.

Current behavior:
Everything is looking fine in the beginning. Then overlap of data series
suddenly changes from 100% to 0% which modifies stacked columns to normal
columns.

Expected behavior:
Chart type remains stacked columns and lines, overlap of columns remains
100%.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1

Not much more in the way of details to provide.

I tried deleting all the Microsoft C++ redistributable packages and
reinstalling. Again, the installation completes just fine.

The error occurs when LibreOffice is run for the first time. It is trying to
configure dictionaries enabling and disabling and other configuration tasks
that are performed on first run.

I believe it may be a permissions or security issue, but that is not the error
that is presented.

I had to remove 3.4.4 in order to install 3.5.4 because the 3.5.4 installer
kept complaining that 3.4.4 was open or the quick start was running. Neither
was true.

I removed 3.5.4 and reinstalled 3.4.4. Now I get the same error that the
program has stopped working when first trying to run 3.4.4. So I uninstalled
3.4.4 too.

Now there is no instance of LibreOffice on the system. Need to get this solved.

We never had such a launch slideshow function as requested

I don't think that we should do so. In Slide Sorter View the double click opens
the slide edit view, why should a double click start a presentation?

We already have the overly with Start Slide Show function, what will start the
Show at the slide in what's thumbnail the start icon has been clicked. I doubt
that an additional Slide Show start function is useful. Why only on thumbnail,
not also from Navigator? And may be also a double click on the Slide itself
could start the slide show?

I see this one WONTFIX

@reporter:
May be you want to discuss that on

The extension of the Original file in docx should be tar.gz, not tar.bz

Then, I reproduced the problem on Pc Debian x86-64, with master sources
updated.
I tried several conversion so here they are with corresponding size
original docx : 472793
docx - rtf : 15727102
docx - odt : 325384
docx - odt - rtf : 16017100

Finally, I removed the picture :
docx without picture : 472793
docx - odt :  324209
docx - odt - rtf : 9779

So it seems the problem comes from the management of the picture by rtf
conversion

@Sasha: this is not a bug. When you press the Help button or press F1,
LibreOffice invokes the help with the help ID of the UI element that currently
has the focus. Just try, press Tab to move the focus somewhere into the General
dialog. The correct help page will come up for the Help button.

The real documentation bug here is that the help page is not accurate, it
describes removed features and does not describe added features.

 Cannot reproduce it, an example document would be appreciated.

I attached an example file. It is a bit pointless as I can reproduce the bug
even on an empty document. The same problem with any and all documents I open.

I found a workaround though. If I highlight the entire document and click on
the beginning of the page where it says the language, I can then change it to
what I want.

The described bug still exist though.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51367] New: : Irritating Installation file name change

2012-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51367

 Bug #: 51367
   Summary: : Irritating Installation file name change
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: librele...@gmx.de

Problem description:
During Installation of 3.5.4 German on Win7 the user is asked if he is ready
for installation of files not identical to the ones downloaded.

Steps to reproduce:

1.Download the German x86 Windows two necessary files at
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.5.4/win/x86/LibO_3.5.4_Win_x86_install_multi.msi
and
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.5.4/win/x86/LibO_3.5.4_Win_x86_helppack_de.msi

2. During installation of the first file (the main programme file)
LibO_3.5.4_Win_x86_install_multi.msi asks if the user wants to install the
downloaded file 298bdb.msi
It happens after the programme has checked the necessary size on the hard
drive.

3. During installation of the second file (the language help file)
LibO_3.5.4_Win_x86_helppack_de.msi the programme asks if the user wants to
install the downloaded file 29a890.msi

Current behavior:
The programme opens a new window during step 2 and 3. Usually I am able to take
screen shots during installation but with these windows open I unfortunately
was unable to do so. The text in the new window seems to indicate that a file
different from the installation files has been downloaded by the installation
procedure (which most probably was not the case as it would have taken a
while).
The user installing the programm might be irritated by this window opening and
stop installation as the files he downloaded had a different name (see step 1)
than the one he is now asked to confirm fir installation.
I assume the downloaded files were unpacked and renamed in one step.

Expected behavior:
The programme should install only files the user has downloaded and not rename
them during installation. Or the programme should explain what happens.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows 7

Sorry for not beeing able to explain better or deliver a sreen-shot. I
installed on a computer of a third person.

I installed 3.6 beta 2, but the dialogue of the C++ run-time error is displayed
and cannot start at all today.
All the run time is installed.
3.5.* can start without a problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51368] New: FORMATTING: Libre Office Calc 3.6 Merge Hidden Cells Causes Crash

2012-06-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51368

 Bug #: 51368
   Summary: FORMATTING: Libre Office Calc 3.6 Merge Hidden Cells
Causes Crash
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.0.beta1
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: stefanma...@gmail.com

Created attachment 63389
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=63389
Problematic document. See Clothing Gear Tab, Cells E28 and E29.

Problem description: I have a situation where I am attempting to merge two
cells. A dialog pops up and asks Should the contents of the hidden cell be
moved into the first cell? If I press No the merge goes on as expected and
doesn't crash libre office. If I press Yes Libre office closes immediately.

I've attached a sample file, as I cannot reproduce this with a new spreadsheet
(I don't know how to make a cell hidden). They are things I plan to buy for
my motorcycle, it isn't formatted purdy!

Steps to reproduce:
1. In the file klr_Shopping_List.ods (attached), on the tab Clothing Gear
(tab 6 of 8) cells E28 and E29 are the suspects here.
2. If you merge these two cells together (same problem occurs if you delete the
contents of the cells before merging) then answer yes to the Should the
contents of the hidden cell be moved into the first cell? dialog, then
libreoffice immediately shuts down.

Current behavior: LibreOffice closes immediately without warning

Expected behavior: Two cells merge. Libre office does not close.

Platform (if different from the browser): Open Suse 11.4, Libre Office Version
3.6.0beta1 (Build ID: 1f1cdd8)

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0

[REPRODUCIBLE] in official 3.5.0 beta2 and 3.5.3
[NOT REPRODUCIBLE] in official 3.4.4

regression, also set version field accordingly

Thanks for the bug report!

I didn't test this, but as Masaki can confirm this bug, I set this as NEW.

Also, I change the version and platform fields because (1) version field should
be the earliest version with the problem, and (2) we don't have 64bit version
for Windows.

 Thanks for the bug report.

Thanks for your reply. I started to be helpless that there's no response to my
report. In fact, I only tried to save to ods format. I just tried the other
formats, I got the same result.

Hope that you'll find a patch to this bug.
