IMHO this would be a good solution. Long-time Mac users like me are used to the native blue progress bar, of course, and we should stay with it in (most) other places, but in the splash screen and in the about box many applications use custom controls and special effects (to show what the programmers are able to do), so it seems OK to use a custom progress bar there. (And our custom progress bar looks very nice in the new splash screen, of course! :-) I think the culprit is NativeProgress = 1 in the Mac equivalent of sofficerc – ít seems to do nothing on Windows Linux, but on Mac apparently draws a native progress meter. I am not quite sure how to set that from within the source code repo and can't really try either (lacking a Mac). Thorsten will know best about these implementation details. You see translations of old master pages. In rc1 it will be fixed, either you will see tooltips in English, or correctly localized. It is a problem, that in some places the string IDs are not descriptive, i.e. we have STR_TEMPLATE_NAME1, STR_TEMPLATE_NAME2, etc. instead of STR_TEMPLATE_NAME_ABSTRACT_RED. This way old translations can be paired to new/changed English string. Such errors disappear when I update po files with latest templates, which I do regularly, but when a feauture is integrated in the last minute, I have no chance to do that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51869] FILEOPEN: LibreOffice crashes opening big MS Excel 2003 XML file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51869 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW CC||b...@eikota.de Version|3.5.4 release |3.4.5 release --- Comment #6 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-07-10 09:49:56 PDT --- REPRODUCIBLE on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel) German UI with * LibreOffice 3.5.4.2, Build-ID: 165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18 * LibreOffice 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID: 3e2b862) When I try to open Alexey's sample file (crash.xml.xls) with these LibreOffice versions, LibreOffice takes a long time to open the file and crashes while still in progress of opening the file, before opening a document window. Additionally, on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel) German UI with * LibreOffice 3.4.0, OOO340m1 (Build:12) * LibreOffice 3.4.6, OOO340m1 (Build:602) just report a General input/output error. when I try to open the file. However, Apache OpenOffice (AOO) 3.4.0 on the same machine opens the file without problems (but it takes a long time!). The log files generated by MacOS X 10.6.8 for the crash with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 and 3.6.0.0.beta3 both look just like Alexey's crash report, but I will attach the crash log file for 3.6.0.0.beta3 for the sake of confirmation and completeness. NB: Changing the file name (e.g., to crash.xml) does not change the situation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51869] FILEOPEN: LibreOffice crashes opening big MS Excel 2003 XML file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51869 --- Comment #8 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-07-10 09:57:32 PDT --- Looks like this is a file size/row count problem: if I delete almost all rows from the file, so that there are only three rows (with 5 cells each) left, LibreOffice 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID: 3e2b862) opens the file without any problems. And all the rows are identical (empty), of course, no strange invalid UTF-8 characters or something similar (I have checked with a text editor). But I don't understand why this file is so big that this should cause any problems for LibreOffice: there are only 710 rows with 5 cells each. This is much for a human being but should be easy to handle for a modern computer application ;-) At least, there should not be any crash. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

But even if it is confined to a single platform, the bug is still of some importance because it leads to a crash and it is hard to say why LibreOffice crashes on this big, but very simple file (AOO does NOT crash, but opens the file without problems!). Just create a new Writer document, type some text and try to set the text color and/or the background color. As Florian Effenberger wrote, it is not possible to set any other text color/background color than the pre-defined Red text color and Yellow background color (and even this does not work always in my tests). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50849] SIGSEGV: ODBC to PostgreSQL, renaming column in SELECT list
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50849 Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|ASSIGNED AssignedTo|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |lio...@mamane.lu |desktop.org | --- Comment #13 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-07-10 14:13:13 PDT --- (In reply to comment #11) (In reply to comment #10) Does this suggest that it would be good to look into why LO is doing the call with null table name? Or into why LO is doing this extra call at all? Ah yes, I had missed that; I was so focused on the CatalogName and SchemaName NULL vs empty string. Fair enough; LibO should not call it with empty string for TableName, and this should be fixed. This *also* has its roots in an ODBC driver problem. The structure is as such: For each column in the query, LibO: - asks the driver which table does this column come from by calling SQLColAttribute(m_aStatementHandle, 1, ident, | |75 (SQLPOINTER)pName, | |76 nRealLen, | |77 nRealLen, | |78 NULL | |79 ); | - store the answer in sTableName - calls SQLSpecialColumns(..., sTablename, ...) A funny thing happened on the way to the crash: In PGAPI_SpecialColumns, info.c line 2783 detects the null table name, so line 2785 does SC_set_error and then line 2786 returns SQL_SUCCESS. SQL_SUCCESS sounds to me like an outright lie. If in SQLSPecialColumns I fudge the return value to SQL_ERROR, then LibreOffice ... (*) Goes on to call SQLSpecialColumns with good catalog, schema, and table names. This call looks very much like what I remember from the successful query. (*) Goes on to display the table data. The SQL_SUCCESS sounds to me like a candidate for reporting upstream, as does the segfault itself. LEM, do you agree? Yes, the segfault, with the explanation about SQL_SUCCESS/SQL_ERROR should be reported upstream. Could you do that (and CC me)?
