Hm, currently it seems only Urmas suffers from this problem, or did I miss
something?

I can't remember tho have seen any broken dictionaries.

I found some other similar bugs without mandatory relation to this bug:
Bug 37561 - Failed installing extension: Duden-Korrektor 5.0/6.0
Bug 43707 - FILEOPEN PDF brings up (ASCII) filter selector instead of opening
document

Searching Mailing lists with Google also shows many results, but none of them
really matches with Urmas' result.

@Urmas: Translated error message also is Status of this extension is unknown
in 3.6 screenshot [EN dict] ?

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: IA64 (Itanium)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

Situation is a lot like bug #53653
Try to open large (7 MB) excel-formatted large spreadsheet, hangs for a
long time, maybe permanently. Impossible to stop or kill
process - to get rid of the hanging spreadsheet, a reboot
is necessary.

--- Comment #4 from Rainer Bielefeld libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de

I think it's a bug by definition to offer FILESAVE as .csv from Writer

Worked fine until Server installation (own profile) of LibreOffice 3.5.6.2
German UI/Locale [Build-ID: e0fbe70-5879838-a0745b0-0cd1158-638b327] on German
WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), so 3.6 regression

I think it's simply wrong to offer save as .csv for a writer text document
from Writer.

Already broken with
- Server installation of Master LOdev 3.6.0alpha0+ – WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: a502549] (tinderbox: Win-x86@6-fast, pull time
2012-05-31 07:33:55)

Still worked fine
- MinGW build 2012-08-26 what already has new style LibO File Dialog, tho this
problem seems not related to new dialog.
- with Server installation of Master LOdev 3.6.0alpha0+ – WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 475d0c5-829fc92-39746e8-206648e-fefd87]
(2012-02-14)

@Jean-Baptiste Faure
If Auto Name extension is activated that xxx.txt.csv might be more or less
expected

@Michael:
I currently see this one as a WRITER problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37964] Formula's copies become no italic after editing.

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37964

--- Comment #10 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-08-19 07:37:34 UTC ---
(In reply to comment #9)
You should insert a formula in a document IA writer

OK, so I have tried it again with LibreOffice 3.5.6.2 (Build ID:
e0fbe70-dcba98b-297ab39-994e618-0f858f0) and with LibreOffice 3.6.1.1 (Build
ID: 4db6344), both on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

My steps:
 1) Start LibreOffice
 2) Create a new Writer document
 3) Type Text A
 4) Choose Insert Object Formula
 5) Type f(x)
 6) Click after the formula; the formula is italic (correct)
 7) Double-click the formula and change it, e.g. to y = f(x)
 8) Click after the formula; the formula is italic (correct)
 9) Type Text B
10) Click on the formula and press Command + C
11) Click after Text B and press Command + V, to get a copy of the formula
12) Double-click the formula and edit it, e.g. to y = x^2 + 2 x + 1
13) Click after the formula; the formula is still italic (correct)

So I can’t confirm this issue, sorry; for me, everything works as expected. (Of
course, only the variables are italic, like 'x' and 'y', but this is correct;
constants like the numbers (figures: '1', '2', etc.) and operators ('+', '='
etc.) and functions ('sin' 'cos' 'tan') should never be italic.)

@ Víctor Hugo Suárez Candal:

I really like to help you via confirming this issue, but as said above I can’t.
Can you please try to explain if you do something different; i.e., where is the
difference between my steps listed above and what you do until the formula is
no more italic?

Thank you very much again!

Just opening the file, selecting the block indicated on the screenshot

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.6.1.1 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 4db6344]

It takes a minute or so until progress bar reaches 80%, then LibOO stops
responding. That's some better than AOOo 3.4, what stops responding ag 20%
porgress bar, but mich worse than MS Excel Viewer, what opens the document
within 10 seconds.

Parallel installation of Master LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ - WIN7 Home Premium

I will still do some additional tests.

There is no 'normal' workaround, frames are hell to use except in toy documents
with a handfull of titles only

This RFE intends to make it a paragraph style property, which *is* a lot easier
to use (and change) than frames that all need manual positionning

bt + console logs on master sources

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I reproduce the problem.
I attached console logs (just 1 specific trace) + bt with symbols.

I don't reproduce the problem with 3.6 sources updated yesterday but I notice
that it's very long before being able to browse.

With 3.5 sources updated yesterday, no crash and the browsing window appears
without delay.

Finally, with 3.5 and 3.6, I got this trace 4 times:

@Kendy, @Astron:

I just stumbled over this old enhancement request which still is valid. And,
what is really important: The reporter has already provided an improved set of
default gradients (see link in comment #0) which is IMHO at least much better
than the present one and also harmonizes well with the UI changes in
LibreOffice 3.6.

So please have a look at this report and at the reporter’s suggested new
default gradients. Couldn’t we integrate them (maybe with some minor changes)
into LibO 3.7?

Thank you very much!

Also reset the Version field according to comment #0. Please note that the

i can confirm this happened to me too.
on mac osx 10.7.4
upgrading to libreoffice 3.6.0.4, from i forgot what version (i always upgrade
when there is a new stable version)

when i tried to use my macros in my toolbar, i had an error message saying

the following basic script could not be found
library: Standard
module: Module1
method: mymethod
location: application

i think this is a CRITICAL problem, a 23KB Module1.xba was replaced with a
default 300Bytes Module1.xba
the toolbar icons for the macros i use were intact and not replaced.

luckily i had my backups so i restored Module1.xba and all was back to normal.
as a workaround/safety, I renamed copied all the standard module1.xba to a new
library/module afterwards.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49145] EDITING: Form-Wizard should propose listfields for foreign keys in a table

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #9 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk 2012-08-19 09:44:37 UTC
---
(In reply to comment #6)

In fact I wasn't thinking of the form-wizard. I was thinking of the plain
grid-like table data editor: I was thinking of enhancing it to become an
intelligent grid, containing listboxes in some columns, plain text boxes in
other columns, ...and in the future perhaps also dropdown-calendar boxes for
 date fields.

Something like what is possible in MS Access or FMPro then ?
In other words, having data aware controls in the table view or the grid
control.

I know that this has already been requested in the past (I would need to look
up the bug number(s)), certainly at least for OOo, or on the previous OOo dba
mailing lists, and I seem to recall that Lionel Mamane, the main base dev of
the LO project had also considered that as one possible enhancement to the Base
feature set.

However, I would imagine that that would be no mean feat, as it would probably
require extending the current model-view-control paradigm.

I'm not utterly convinced that this would be confusing for users, since other
db UI programs seem to do OK out of having such functionality, and it is
hypocritical of us to say that we would be blurring the lines between data
presentation/maniuplation via the form paradigm and simple data display via the
table paradigm, when a user can actually enter data directly into the table
anyway. If one were to be really strict about the separative approach, a user
would just be able to create a table by hand or with the wizard, and then BE
OBLIGED to create a form to enter data into it. At the moment, that simply
isn't the case, and certainly doesn't represent what happens in other
equivalent products.

I would say that this is a valid RFE, but IMO it is a duplicate of one that is
already somewhere in the system or at least has been discussed on the dev list
(or IRC) previously.

Sometimes you want to cut all text, and I don't see why you shouldn't be able

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53412] Silent fail on RTFD file open attempt

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53412

--- Comment #1 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-08-19 10:16:04 UTC ---
Created attachment 65764
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=65764
A simple RTFD sample file (compressed as ZIP archive to allow me to attach it)

REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.6.1.1 (Build ID: 4db6344), German langpack
installed, on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

When you try to open a .rtfd file, LibreOffice shows in in the file selection
dialog (suggesting that it is able to open that file!), but if you click OK
nothing happens.

IMHO we would need an enhancement request for the ability to open .rtfd files
(there is no guarantee that LibO can open them, so it is not a bug that it
can’t do so ;-); but it is a *bug* that LibreOffice just fails silently on any
attempt to open them -- therefore I leave this as bug report.

To find out more about .rtfd files, see
   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFD

A .rtfd file (Rich Text Format Directory) is not a simple file, but a
bundle, i.e. a special kind of directory, which contains both the main RTF
data (in a file called TXT.rtf) and all images, just as image files. Insofar
.rtfd files are similar to .odt files, just that they are not compressed and
are based on RTF, not on XML.

Matt Rosin is right that .rtfd files are common on MacOS X, and therefore it
would be nice if LibreOffice could handle them.

I see three possible stages of .rtfd support:
a) Give a meaninful error message on attempts to open .rtfd files, instead of
failing silently. This is a really important bug fix.
b) First enhacement level:
On attempts to open .rtfd files, just open the TXT.rtf file inside of
them, to recover at least the text and formatting.
This should be rather easy to implement.
c) Second enhancement level:
Open the TXT.rtf file inside of the .rtfd file AND insert all images from
the .rtfd file directly into the resulting document (embedding images
instead
   of linking them).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53704] New: EDITING: Locks on first edit

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53704

 Bug #: 53704
Summary: EDITING: Locks on first edit
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fengl...@fastmail.fm

Problem description:

When doing the first edit in a new document, Libre Office locks up for a number
of seconds, causing the busy wheel to occur. It's annoying and reminds of
buginess each time one use Libre Office.

Perhaps this bug is specific to OS X. Perhaps it's some form of resources that
are initialized (such as perhaps plugins loaded from disk), that causes this. I
would try to do it asynchronously with low priority and no matter what do it as
early as possible. Even if it cannot be done asynchronously I would do it at
the beginning of opening the document. Better it occurs then rather than when
the user tries to work.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Libre office
2. Open a new text document
3. Do any form of editing in the document, such as type on letter.
4. Libre Office will lock up so long that OS X busy wheel occurs.

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:

Platform (if different from the browser):

A 2011 Macbook Pro. That should be sufficient.

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_0) AppleWebKit/537.1
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/21.0.1180.79 Safari/537.1

 @Roman : I haven't tested 3.6.0.4 with a French language pack, did you notice
any problems with your German one ?

No, I didn’t; no problems installing the German language pack with LibO 3.6.0.4
(nor with 3.6.1.1) on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

So we need to test with the Spanish language pack ...

@locotux:
Thank you very much for your bug report!
Please answer two important questions:
1) Which kind of Mac do you use -- an old (PowerPC, PPC based) one,
or a new (Intel, x86 based) one?
2) And which version of MacOS X do you use (10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, or 10.8)?

@Thorsten Behrens:
This is an interesting MacOS-related bug report. Please take a look at it.

It could be considered as an enhancement request, but I agree with the original
reporter that at least the _silent_ fail on any attempt to open an .rtfd file
is a bug and should be fixed; we should either not allow to open .rtfd files at
all (disabling them in the file open dialog) or display a meaningful error
message. It would be even better, of course, to actually open the .rtfd file,
at least the simple TXT.rtf file inside of it ...

Please consider:
Maybe we could make the first step (displaying a meaningful error message) into
an Easy Hack?

Thank you!

If, when adding records to table containing an autoincrement NOT NULL field,
the user enters data that does not match the requirements of the field
definition, with the result that the INSERT fails, then the autoincrement
counter is automatically incremented by 1 for each failed operation until the
insert succeeds, at which point the current incremented value is written to the
table.

This should not happen, failed INSERTS (haven't tested UPDATE) should not cause
the autoincrement counter to increment itself.

I will test earlier versions to see if problem present there, or if this is a
regression.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53708] EDITING - hsqldb, wrong autoincrement counter inserted after failed INSERT

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53708

--- Comment #2 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk 2012-08-19 11:35:36 UTC
---
How to reproduce :

1) Create an embedded (default) hsqldb database file, with a table containing
the following fields :

- autoincrement NOT NULL id field which is also primary key (default behaviour
in LO)

- a text field with a string value length set to 10,

2) Save the table as Table1, then open the table for editing, then tab
(tabulation key) from id field to text field, and enter a data string longer
than 10 characters, say 20 characters, then try to tab into a new record.

3) You should get an error message indicating that your string length exceeds
the definition allowed by the table.

4) Edit the string to delete 1 or 2 characters, and try again.

5) The message will repeat itself until the string length matches that defined
in the field (all of this is normal).

6) When you finally get a string which is not longer than that defined, the
INSERT will succeed, but the autoincrement field will contain a value that
corresponds to the failed number of attempts.

Expected behaviour : the autoincrement field should only insert the default
value, ignoring any failed INSERTS, i.e. the counter shouldn't be updated for
each failed operation.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I reproduced the problem
with the first attachment.
I noticed these console logs during docx opening:

repeated many times each

and during odt export:

warn:legacy.osl:20874:1:/home/julien/compile-libreoffice/libo/sw/source/filter/xml/xmltble.cxx:979:

both repeated a dozen times each.

 @Rainer:
what should we do with this bugreport: WONTFIX or DUPLICATE (of what) or
 ...?

Jochen,

IMHO you can't say WONTFIX until a dev has had a chance to say something about
it, or until we can show that a decision has been made by the dev group to sort
it out or ignore it.

If you want to see whether it is a duplicate, search in bugzilla or the dev
mailing list (ESC minutes ??) for data aware control or something like that.

It is a recurring request, and has been since OOo days. The fact that nothing
has been done about it is irrelevant, other than an indication that to
implement the desired features requires more work than would appear on the
surface.

Example document

Problem description:

I tried to delete 2 cells (A7:A8 in the sample). They contain formulas.
- Cell A8 compute the SUM from A1 to A4: =SUMME(A1:A4)
- Cell A7 compute the SUM from A1 to A4 minus A8 = SUMME(A1:A4)-A8

By deleting both cells with the formulas, LO will crash!

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new spreadsheet
2. type any Numbers in the Fields from A1 to A4
3. count the SUM in one of the fields below
4. count antother/the same SUM minus the result of step 3 in the field below
5. Try to delete both fields at the same time! (Just by mark them and hit
delete)

Current behavior: LO crash!

Expected behavior: delete the cells...

Reading this :

http://api.libreoffice.org/common/ref/com/sun/star/form/DataAwareControlModel.html

would seem to indicate that the API only supports data awareness via the
FormControlModel and the FormComponent service.

If that is really the case, then I would guess that implementing the requested
feature for Table View editing would require a new API or a modified API of the
MVC used for Table Views.

Also note that data aware controls in general for LO are being worked upon,
albeit for Calc for the time being :

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-commits/2011-December/024675.html

+// Need to flesh this out, currently we will only support data-aware
controls for calc
+// and only handle a subset of functionality e.g. linked-cell and cell
range data source. Of course later
+// we need to disambiguate for writer ( and others ? ) and also support
the generic form (db) bindings
+// we need some more work in xmlscript to be able to handle that

So, it is definitely do-able.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53636] : Problem with language pack install on OSX

2012-08-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53636

--- Comment #4 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk 2012-08-19 13:05:38 UTC
---
(In reply to comment #3)
Earlier reports about problems with langpack installation on MacOS X:
 * Bug 33682 - MacOS(X) langpack_zh-TW install failed (Chinese and Portuguese)
 * Bug 35717 - Error installing Estonian language pack (Esthonian)
 * Bug 36712 - problem when installing Spanish (Spanish)
 * Bug 43392 - Problem with installation of langage pack (French)
 * Bug 45621 - Corrupted characters in langpack installers under Mac OS X PPC

Maybe we could mark some of these reports as duplicates, but most (all?) of
them are not reproducible (easily) ...

And most were with PPC machines, if I remember correctly.

The feeling I got from previous discussions with devs on this issues was that
the pack could be manually installed from the command line, so it was not a
really problematic issue in the end. Of course, if there are so few PPC users
out there, it makes it hard for us in QA to try and move this forward.

file in attach 1 can´t be used - connection to datasource
 ReportBuilder_Textfields_without_Contentmarker can´t be ... (s. attach 3)

Hi Jochen,

I have just downloaded attachment 1. Can be opened and editited with LO 3.3.4
and LO 3.6.1 RC1. No Problem with that file.

The Function [priceadd] is a user-defined-function in the report of attachment
1. You can't see it in another report.
