[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56937] EDITING: freeze when drag and drop from top input field to anywhere
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56937 --- Comment #6 from cedric h byteju...@free.fr --- Hello thanks for your well documented answer. You're right, I have BetterTouchTool installed (version 0.91). I tried to disable/enable features to narrow the bug down and I was successful. :) When I disable the BetterTouchTool functionality named Enable window snapping, LibreOffice doesn't freeze. While I'm doing this, System Preferences Universal Access Enable access for assistive devices is still enabled (as it is required by BetterTouchTool) I'm really glad I could help you and the LibreOffice team. You're doing a fantastic job … keep on going :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So inherited from OOo, and so definiteively not a 3.5 MAB (but may be an enhancement request). AOOo decision: WONTFIX (because of conflicting interests?) I removed target information due to facts. Steps how to reproduce (creeating a sample document similar to Cor's): 0. Open new Spreadsheet from LibO start center 1. If necessary, menu 'View - Toolbars - Form Controls' 2. Insert a Push button covereing cells C4:E7 3. Click B9 4. Menu 'Insert - Comment', type Text This is a commt with some very long text in it (or similar) 5. Click on an empty cell to leafe comment Small comment mark is in cell B9 6. Move mouse pointer into B9 over comment mark As Expected, comment becomes visible 7. In Form Controls toolbar disable Design Mode 8. Redo step 6 Problem: Comment now appears behind the push button With active 'Show Comment' the problem also is visible while Form Controls are in Design Mode. The question is how a solution should look? Comments visible in front of form controls can make form controls unusable, but invisible Comments are not very useful. My suggestion: Normally Invisible Comments always should appear in front of buttons. Normally they are hidden and do not cause access problems for the form controls I can't understand why the creator of a spreadsheet inserts Normally visible Comments what conflict with push buttons? But if the user activates enduring visibility it is ok that the comment appears behind form controls to keep access to form controls. But an Enhancement could bring the comment to the forgeground when the user moves the mouse pointer to the Comment mark? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57361] New: Can't resize wide columns; mouse scrolling is also broken
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57361 Priority: medium Bug ID: 57361 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Can't resize wide columns; mouse scrolling is also broken Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.5.4 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 70356 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70356action=edit Video showing resizing and scrolling problems with wide columns After loading a spreadsheet with a column which is wider than the window, it is impossible to use the mouse to resize the column. It is also impossible to scroll left using the scrollbar. Reproducibility: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Load a spreadsheet with a column which is wider than the window. (Easy to reproduce with CSV files by exploiting Bug 53026.) 2. Scroll to the right using the horizontal scrollbar using any of the usual ways (dragging the drag box, clicking on the track, or clicking on the arrow). One of four things will happen: 2a. The window will scroll a little bit farther within the wide column, in which case repeat from Step 2 to trigger the bug. 2b. The window will scroll to the end of the column plus a little bit farther, in which case try resizing the column to make it as narrow as possible by dragging the column slider to the left. Then scroll left, and repeat from Step 2 to trigger the bug. 2c. The window will scroll a little bit *past* the end of the wide column. You've now triggered the first problem: it's now impossible to resize the wide column by dragging (since the border between it and the next column is never exposed). 2d. The window will scroll a *lot* past the end of the wide column -- so much so that it skips past the following column. You've now triggered the first problem described in Step 2d above, as well as a second problem: it's impossible to resize or even view the column to the right of the wide column. 3. Once you've triggered the first problem in Step 2c or Step 2d above, try to scroll left using the horizontal scrollbar using any of the usual ways (dragging the drag box, clicking on the track, or clicking on the arrow). This action has no effect; the scroll bar doesn't change and the window doesn't scroll. The attached video demonstrates all three problems (inability to resize the wide column, right scroll skipping over the following column, and inability to scroll left). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57348 --- Comment #4 from Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com --- (In reply to comment #3) (In reply to comment #2) the Manage Conditional Formats dialog and ... Is where :-) ? Format-Conditional Formatting-Manage It has been introduced in 3.6 to allow a better overview about conditional formatting and is a better tool to edit conditional formatting. What I see now is that I can apply conditional formatting to a range and then select one cell and with the same dialog apply extra conditional formatting. Correct? Until 3.5 a cell could only have a conditional formatting that was a cell property. 3.6 moved to range based conditional formatting to allow formats that are no longer only local to the current cell but take into account all the other values in the range. For 4.0 I now made it also possible that a cell can contain several independent conditional formats. Imagine you apply a conditional format to A1:A4 for color scales which means that the range the conditional format is applied to is important but you'd like to format A2:A3 also with anothe conditional format. This is now possible by just defining an additional conditional format for A2:A4 which will in contrast to older behavior not overwrite the old conditional format (till 3.5) or change the conditional of A1:A4 ( in 3.6 ) This is a major improvement that was one goal for range based conditional formats. This improves interoperability with MSO and removes nearly all known limitation od conditional formats that we had until now. Together with the new conditional formats in master they are now a universal tool to improve the look of complex spreadsheets. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57199 --- Comment #14 from Petr Mladek pmla...@suse.cz --- Marc, I am afraid that you misunderstood the request. We can't track bugs in the mailing list because it would be a nightmare. We need to track bugs in bugzilla. We want to ask users to triage (sort, approve) the existing bugs. The text will be displayed the users her own bug using a wizard. Joel, I am afraid that the steps are too easy. I miss some important things: 1. Make sure that the bug has clear steps how to reproduce it. It does not help if an user spend one hour on reproducing and then just move the bug to the step NEW. 2. Prioritization. What would happen if the bug is really annoing and nobody escalate it via the MABs, CC-ing developers or severity flag. We need to expect some results after the bug is moved in the state NEW. Export of a .odt file with such font into .doc appears to be working, and the resulting .doc file appears correct when opened by LibreOffice. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57199 --- Comment #15 from Marc Pare m...@marcpare.com --- (In reply to comment #14) The idea is not to track bugs in the mailing list, which would not be the right way, I agree that the bugzilla is the only tool to track bugs. It sounds more like there should be mentor oversight; the user would be sent off to a Joel's beginner page, but, along with the possibility of mentorship to help the user gain triaging skills with help from an experienced QA member. As an idea, maybe we should look more at establishing a QA mentorship group who would be tasked with training new QA arrivals. They could then help/train new QA members until their skills were adequate to do triaging by themselves. With a good beginner's page and coupled with mentorship, it doesn't have to be a long process for the mentors. This would make for a more effective triaging group. Once new QA triaging team members prove their competency, they could then take up some of the mentorship and leave the more experienced QA members to do other work. After testing various 3.6/3.7 daily builds, we got it: The bug is NOT reproducible with LOdev 3.6.2.0+ (Build ID: cfbfa26; pull time: 2012-09-07 10.35.10) But it is FIRST reproducible with LOdev 3.6.2.0+ (Build ID: c303961; pull time: 2012-09-11 08.49.57) i.e. the bug was introduced by some patch committed to the 3.6 branch between 2012-09-07 10.35.10 and 2012-09-11 08.49.57. But the most important changes in that short time frame where the two fixes for bug 47368, which fixed many other problems related to Mac OS X accessibility. So I fear that -- horribile dictu -- this present bug is a negative side-effect of one of our two important patches which fixed bug 47368: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3234b715b5a6d13ee673b41066eb565706be5ec9 or http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=9b9d45e35103e6884e0a87c35c07c74899f40614 just like bug 55671, which seems to have been introduced by one of these patches, too ... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57199 --- Comment #16 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- I updated the page, what I didn't want to do is have an explanation for how to do most annoying bugs (block, enter code, leave a comment over on MAB explaining why). So instead what I put is another point that says; If the bug seems particularly annoying -- such as a crash or some other bug that results in loss of data or the inability to produce professional quality work -- please email all of the QA Experts which can be found here (link) with the subject being FDO#bug number I agree that it should be a mentor program, unfortunately I'm not positive that's realistic as our QA team really is 5 or so consistent people all of whom probably have 3 people worth of work on their plates already. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57176] FORMATTING: CONDITIONAL FORMATTING lost on Paste Values or Delete, doesn't show up in Undo/Redo menu
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57176 --- Comment #2 from rh_li...@bmharding.freeserve.co.uk --- Created attachment 70378 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70378action=edit Example balance sheet / cash till float spreadsheet Thanks. I tried version 3.6.4RC1 and after my PC hung on me mid-install leaving a 'program' folder with no access and no owner which I cannot delete or take ownership of even as administrator, I managed to install it in a different folder. (Windows 7 Professional 32 bit on AMD Turion 64-bit processor with 4GB RAM) Still have some problems, so I attach Cash_Check_test.ods saved using that version of LibreOffice Calc Cells K2 to K13 have three-way conditional formatting depending on whether lower, equal or higher than cell N2 to N13. For example, change K4 from 30 to 40 and notice it becomes light-blue. Change it to 20 and it becomes light-red (pink). Set it back to 30 and it becomes green. Now, still on K4, hit Delete. It's treated as zero, and goes light red. Hit Undo, and it reverts to 30 and green. Now select two cells, K4:K5 and hit delete. This time all formatting is lost. Not to worry, you might think, just hit Undo. The values return. But, Oh, where has my conditional formatting gone!? It seems to lose the Conditional Formatting when deleting a multiple selection and the Undo doesn't realise it has gone, so I don't think it's an intended feature of hitting delete on a multi-cell selection. There doesn't seem to be a problem with Paste Special / Numbers changing the formats now, but at least I can demonstrate a bug of the sort I mentioned with steps to try to replicate it. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57381] New: CRASH when saving Avery 8164 template document as a DOCX file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57381 Priority: medium Bug ID: 57381 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: CRASH when saving Avery 8164 template document as a DOCX file Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: lowcountryro...@gmail.com Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.3.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Starting from new document, using built-in Avery 8164 template for labels. Synchronize Contents turned on. Regardless of content (even if document is completely blank), when saving as a DOCX, LO crashes with an unexpected error message, and attempts to recover data. Document recovers, but label formatting is messed up, with right-hand column of labels pushed into second page (only one column of labels per page instead of the proper two columns). Note that page formatting settings (margins, etc.) have not changed, but the recovered document pushes the right-hand column to a second page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
