Hi,
The bug is still present on RC1

I created 2 ods files (see Comment #5 and Comment #6):
 - created_with_3.6 : original file created with 3.6.4 used to perform the test
 - created_with_3.6-saved_with_4.0rc1 : to show the result

1) load the original file created_with_3.6
2) open it with LO 4.0.0.1 - Sheet 3 (section) is presented
3) move to Sheet 2 (pleine section) without changing anything
4) Save As with a new name
5) reopen this new file

Current behaviour (you can see it with the second attached file):
charts were moved:
 1st sheet: nothing
 2nd sheet: charts 3-4-5
 3rd sheet: chart 2
 Chart 1 has disappeared

Expected behaviour:
charts are in the same position as the original:
 1st sheet: charts 1-2
 2nd sheet: charts 3-4
 3rd sheet: chart 5

Important: Notice that the result is different if at point 3 you move to
another sheet than Sheet2

Version 4.0.0.1 (Build ID: 527dba6f6e0cfbbc71bd6e7b88a52699bb48799)on Vista and
W7

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59239] FILESAVE: Automatic file name extension is never enabled on Save As

2013-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from E Ridderby paddla...@gmail.com ---
Hi mariosv ,

I have now tested to remove everything under ~/.config/libreoffice.

Now I have a slighly different behaviour: the add extension is remembered but
the extension is never added.

This is what happends:

1. Open Writer
(The document name in the header is Untiteld 1 without extension)
2. Write some.
3. Click Save ICON
4. The Save As dialouge appears with the Automatically select file name
extension checked
5. The file is saved as Untiteld 1 without extension.

1. right click source_LibO364_mso97.doc (created with LibO 3.6.4.3)
and check for title, subject, Author, will be available anywhere
2. right click target_LibO364.odt and check for title, subject, Author,
BUG: Missing in Details, but available in Statistics

Will be similar with Win XP, see Screenshot comparison!

A suspect might be that info has been lost when source_LibO364_mso97.doc has
been saved as target_LibO364.odt, but you will see that info will reappear in
OS properties dialog when you save the target as target_LibO364.doc

The problem is already visible with .odt from AOOo 3.4.1 and OOo 2.0. so
inherited from OOo.

What's with other OSs?
I will check other ODF document formats

LibreOffice offer two OpenXML filter to choose from. E.g. for Writer it's
Microsoft Word 2007-2010 XML and Office Open XML Text which is much worse
than the first one. Maybe someone should make clear up and kick off worse

When the document is not saved (untitled), the screen shows that the page

As has been pointed, this problem continues with 4.0.0 rc1, however, I've found
a fix! Actually, it's more a get-around than a fix.

The default for anchoring charts is to cell and, with that setting, charts
get shunted around willy-nilly after closing and re-opening the document.
However, when I changed all the charts to be anchored to page and shut and
re-opened the book, the charts stayed on the original pages.

Problem description: A dot is missing in a PDF file generated by LibreOffice
4.0.0.1. However, in LibreOffice 3.6.4.3, the dot is present. This is a
software regression.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The operating system used is Linux debian 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Sun Sep 23
09:49:36 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux.
2. The LibreOffice versions involved are:
- LibreOffice Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) (LO3.6.4)
- LibreOffice Version 4.0.0.1 (Build ID:
527dba6f6e0cfbbc71bd6e7b88a52699bb48799) (LO4.0.0.1)
3. The document involved is:

http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/FOUR/trunk/docs/Preliminary%20Report.odt

4. File - Open - (that document)
5. File - Export as PDF - PDF/A-1a - Export
6. Use DiffPDF to compare the PDF files of the same document.
7. Copy and paste the text in a text editor to see the difference.
8. On page five of the PDF files,

In LO3.6.4
FIGURE 1: SAMPLE MAZE (COURTESY OF W. D. BISHOP, LAB 4
SLIDES)1
48 dots are present.

In LO4.0.0.1
FIGURE 1: SAMPLE MAZE (COURTESY OF W. D. BISHOP, LAB 4

After looking into the state of the OpenGL transition code for non-X11
platforms, not really surprising. I suggest we turn the feature off for Mac OS

for Windows.)

Did the OpenGL transitions ever work nicely in any older OOo / go-oo release
on Mac OS X?

Hi,

i disabled the duden plugin and did not experience any issues afterwards in the
same document.
I also contact the duden support about that, hopefully that helps, did not get
a reply yet.

Thanks you anyway for looking into that. From my prespective, it seems related
to the bugs you added to see also.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59284] New: FORMATTING: Make it easier to apply borders to cells

2013-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59284

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59284
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Make it easier to apply borders to cells
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: emir_s...@msn.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.3.0 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Hello,

IMHO, the current cell formatting/borders dialog makes applying borders to
cells very hard in general. It looks confusing, outdated, and lacks ease of use
(also functionality). Let me explain:

- There are no visible-at-first-glance border definitions, user has to chase
through a drop-down menu.

- The definitions in this menu are confusing, they all look the same, user has
to define thickness via setting it manually.

- When selected multiple cells with different borders, it is very complicated
to set a batch border setting, and this does not respond quite well, for
instance in Excel this responds quite well to user behaviour.

- Dotted borders look blurry and outdated. So as thick borders.

Possible improvements:

- Set predefined borders, so user would choose thicknesses at first glance.
This includes fixing border widths, so it would not disappear when selecting a
cell. I recall there was a bug report about this, I'll add it here.
- Hide thickness width selection under a button, so user would not get
confused.
- Improve border rendering, so it would look stylish (especially dotted ones).
- Border preview box could be a little bit bigger, so it would be easier to
apply borders by mouse clicks.

Feel free to add any suggestions under this thread.

\'%Name\' does not work on this computer.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: s...@arcor.de
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.1 rc
 Component: Extensions
   Product: LibreOffice

File

  desktop/source/deployment/gui/dp_gui_dialog.src

contains a generic error message

String RID_STR_UNSUPPORTED_PLATFORM
{
Text [ en-US ] = The extension \'%Name\' does not work on this computer.;
};

This message is triggered, e.g., when installing Duden Korrektor 6.0 in
LibreOffice 4.0.0 RC1 on Linux. The reason is probably described in bug 59237.

Now, there's clear evidence that Duden Korrektor extension does indeed work on
the computer, by installing it in, e.g., LibreOffice 3.5. So the error message
is wrong, at least in the case of Duden Korrektor.

I'm not sure if that reasoning is generally true, but I propose to change the
error message to something less dogmatic, e.g.,

The extension \'%Name\' could not be installed.

or

An error occured while trying to install extension \'%Name\'.

an possibly giving a little more information about the kind of error, if such
information is available. Something users can throw at their favourite search
engine.

Thanks,
Stephan Hennig

also. i updated to LO 4.0 RC1 and tested it again. no problem with
configuration or stability, but sometimes (as when i tried to remove beta2)
there is a file 'soffice' which persists running in the ram after LO has been
closed (and in case people get errors such as 'another instance running').
closed it with system monitor.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59288] New: FORMATTING: Copying conditional formatting

2013-01-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59288

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59288
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: FORMATTING: Copying conditional formatting
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: spam...@gmx.net
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

The following 3 bugs occur when copying conditional formats. They are probably
closely related or even share the same cause, so I put them into one combined
bug report.

Remarks:
a) The behavior is deterministic and fully reproducible.
b) This bug might be related to bug bug 58921, although the observation is
somewhat different.
c) The following scenario deals with conditional formatting that is applied to
single cells, not to cell ranges.

Steps to reproduce:
1.) Create a new spreadsheet in Calc
2.) Create a new format style to use for conditional formatting
(Here: Style Red, derived from Default, with font color set to Light red)
3.) Add a conditional formatting rule to a single cell (e. g. A10):
Example: If cell value is equal to 5, apply style Red
4.) Copy A10 to A11:A13 so that each cell receives the conditional format

Bug #1:
---
5.) Copy the entire cell range A10:A13 to B10:B13 (via copy/paste)

Expected behavior: All cells in B10:B13 now also have the conditional format.

Observed buggy behavior: At first, all cells in B10:B13 behave as if they
correctly received the conditional format. But if you open Format/Conditional
Formatting/Manage..., the conditional format is only listed for cell B10.
Consequently, after saving and re-opening the spreadsheet file, all other
cells B11:B13 have lost the conditional format.

Bug #2:
---
5.) Select the entire cell range A10:A13 and transfer its formatting to B10:B13
with the Format Paintbrush toolbar button

Expected behavior: Same as with bug #1
Observed buggy behavior: Same as with bug #1

Bug #3:
---
5.) Insert a new line 11 below the existing line 10

Expected behavior: The newly inserted cell A11 receives any and all formatting
from A10, including the conditional format.

Observed behavior: At first, cell A11 behaves as if it correctly received the
conditional format. But if you open Format/Conditional Formatting/Manage...,
the conditional format is only listed for A10, A12, A13 and A14. Consequently,
after saving and re-opening the spreadsheet file, A11 has lost the conditional
format.

Hi SalcefiX,
you are trying to enter a date like a formula, and you get the of division
operations not a date.
To enter a date, you must enter the date directly in the cell (not as formula)
and format the cell with the date format you like. You can reference this cell
with a formula.

I thin it is not a bug, writer is not calc and have not the same capabilities.
You can see in the help, Calculating in text documents.

Please if you are agree, change the status to RESOLVED NOTABUG.
