[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42082] [META] Make LibreOffice shine and glow on OS X

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42082

--- Comment #22 from Tor Lillqvist tlillqv...@suse.com ---
Those are technical problems that can be solved. It is not entirely sure to me
if it is also prohibited to enable an *optional* use of Java. After all, Java
is not used for any really essential features. (And for Python, we include our
own Python, so that is not a problem.) (We could also build and include an own
Java, I think there are suitably licensed ones.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68367] Problems with managing index entries

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68367

--- Comment #1 from Ulrich Windl ulrich.wi...@rz.uni-regensburg.de ---
I forgot one thing: The non-modal dialog to add index entries doesn't close
when adding an entry, but it doesn't update properly:
If you double-click (select) some word, then use the menu to open the index
entry dialog, the current selection is suggested for addition.
If you keep the dialog open and double-click (select) another word, the
proposal in the dialog is not updated.
Therefore it makes little sense to keep the dialog open after adding one entry.

As another note, I found that bug 43530 (items 1 and 2) had reported similar
issues than I did.

There's no reason reacting this way... You should have said before that Apache
OpenOffice did not have this interaction bug with Word. No such information is
present in your previsous posts.

I change status to REOPENED because of the new information provided.

Probably there should be one more button in popup that actually does show
entire column. It could be labeled Show all rows or Remove filter rule
to avoid confusion with All checkbox.
I agree, the use of two buttons could be a very good solution, easy to
understand for users.

Seems to be corrected with 4.0.4+ (Win7). however there is a scaling problem

Please keep hunting ;)

BTW, we did have a loss of grouping and of grouping_and_comments (all cell
comments on a sheet). I can't tell if we experienced loss in more than one
sheet at a time, especially as we didn't know what caused the loss and loss in
more sheets could have been caused by more than one undo action.

sample odt with paragraph borders

Problem description:
Under certain circumstances, paragraph borders are not merged which can break
document layout and cannot be reverted by Undo command. The bug has been
present since OpenOffice.org times.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the sample document. There are blank paragraphs (some of them with 10pt
font size) followed by two paragraphs (first paragraph and second
paragraph) formatted by a style. Border option Merge with next paragraph is
checked.
2. Insert a blank paragraph (by pressing Enter) before the bordered paragraphs.
The second paragraph moves to the second page.
3. Delete the paragraph that you just inserted.

Current behavior:
The second paragraph still remains at the second page.

Expected behavior:
The second paragraph should move back to the first page.

This cannot be reverted by Undo, you need to delete end of first paragraph
line and make it again by pressing Enter.

think my changes are responsible. the problem propagates from
SvxRuler::ApplyIndents() to SwTextShell::Execute so the problem is somewhere
here.

the cause for the IO error is apparently:

fdo#64448: Don't get type name from incorrect filter.

This causes wrong format type to get detected when testing for a
completely different file format type.

... but it was also broken before, just differently:
instead of an IO error the subs.srt file was loaded with
a wrong filter (HTML) instead of plain text
in all versions i tested back to OOo 3.2.1,
so it is not really a regression.

you can still load the file by manually selecting
the Text filter in the file dialog.

I have successfully managed to build a 64bit OSX version of LO master :
Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 22d1beb78a475e4846af945afde1c4d6c263b5d6

Note that 64bit OSX builds are not yet produced by TDF for public consumption,
be it as dev daily packages, or stable releases.

With the version above, after entering my login credentials, I can see the list
of tables, so this is now WFM.

However, double-clicking on any one of the table entries gives an error
message, and the table view mode fails to show any contents. I will enter a
separate bug report for that.

Closing this as WFM.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39484] All Outline groups of sheet lost while editing

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39484

--- Comment #74 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
Another interesting data-point is that this is exclusive to cut/paste,
copy/paste doesn't suffer from the same issue; so back up to:

bool ScViewFunc::PasteFromClip( sal_uInt16 nFlags, ScDocument* pClipDoc,

The more I read this the more I marvel at what is going on - it looks rather
fragile. It appears that the code wants to preserve formulae on ~all sheets so
we can undo the effects of cut/paste.

Unfortunately, the CopyToDocument method has two modes of operation: one where
every tab is present (when it really copies the range you pass), and another
when tabs are not present (when it only copies to existing tabs).

First we try to CopyToDocument with a limited set of (the selected) tabs - to
just copy that data for undo; so we only copy the outline data for sheets that
are active.

// all sheets - CopyToDocument skips those that don't exist in
pUndoDoc
 SCTAB nTabCount = pDoc-GetTableCount();
+if ( bCutMode )
+{
+// fdo#39484 - needs to be done before the CopyToDocument to
preserve
+// outline other data on sheets that we're not
viewing.
+pUndoDoc-AddUndoTab( 0, nTabCount-1 );
+}

fixes that; but of course it then starts to copy far too much.

Then unfortunately, we do another copy into the pUndoDoc here:

pRefUndoDoc-CopyToDocument( 0,0,0, MAXCOL,MAXROW,nTabCount-1,
IDF_FORMULA, false, pUndoDoc );

Which is presumably intended to preserve formulae, however this was again not
constructed for all tabs, so it now overwrites the outline data with NULL dummy
data.

So ... it seems that the basic problem here is a mis-understanding of how
CopyToDocument interacts with outlining. We pass the IDF_FORMULA flag, but the
code then operates on far more than just formulae.

Having fiddled a fair bit here; I think the best sol'n is to add an IDF_OUTLINE
- or IDF_NOOUTLINE bit to add in there, to allow the IDF_FORMULA mask to only
mutate formulae. Or worse - add some IDF_FORMULAONLY - which would suck ;-)
I'll try to come up with something pleasant.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68425] New: Spreadsheet with protected cells does export nicely to .xls, but not to .xlsx

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68425

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68425
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Spreadsheet with protected cells does export nicely to
.xls, but not to .xlsx
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: gerry.trep...@googlemail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

The attached spreadsheet (missing-export-of-protected-cells.ods) contains
protected cells. All the cells where you see #REF! are protected and
therefore cannot be changed unless the user unprotects the sheet.
However, there is a problem with the export of this file:

This sheet exports nicely to .xls including the protected cells (attachment
missing-export-of-protected-cells.xls).
However, it does not export nicely to .xlsx. The cell protection is lost and
the user can edit the cells (which should not be the case). (attachment
missing-export-of-protected-cells.xlsx )

I assume that protected cells are not handled properly in the XLSX-Export.
Please add support for protected cells in .xlsx-files.

Files tested in MS Office 2010

thanks 4 the attached files. they will help a lot.
unfortunately I don't have MS Word to test so I ask help from other QA guys.

modified the summary notes to make clearer that the PDF export has to be done
with MS Word

just some final questions for you (please reply, feedback is important):

1- which Apache OO version did you use?

2- have you tried exporting to PDF with Word an .odt file with a Draw shape? is
there still different behaviour between AOO and LibO?

3- why not opening the original .doc file with LibO Writer instead of MS Word?
I suppose you know that LibO can read and save .doc files as well. Again, see
Comment 3, I don't understand why using Word instead of Writer to open a file
just to paste elements from Draw... you could do the whole thing with just one
software.

changing status to UNCONFIRMED again.
when the bug will be independently reproduced by another user status can be
changed to NEW which means the bug is confirmed.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified

Status: NEW

Problem: Default autocorrect setting Automatic *bold* and _underline_ changes
the character format, but it doesn't disable the bold or underline character
formatting after the second *, or _. Workaround: pressing Ctrl-B/Ctrl-U fix
this autocorrection in the actual document.

Test case:

1. Open a new empty document in Writer.
2. Type

*bold* and _underline_ text

The word text in the result bold and underlined instead of normal text, see

@Floater
1- I have reverted version from 4.1.0.4 to 3.5.6.2
please note that the version field should always indicate the earliest release
where the issue appears which is 3.5.6.2 according to your first post.

2- basically the bug is that the 2nd letter changes aspect after entering other
letters... I tested the demo .odp file and I see that you cancel the 3rd letter
the 2nd one changes aspect. so I think issue is confirmed. setting status to
NEW.

3- is this issue happening just in Impress text boxes or does it affects
digiting such asian letters in Writer as well?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68432] New: MS WORD conversion error with numbering

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68432

Bug ID: 68432
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: MS WORD conversion error with numbering
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: orwe...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 84452
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=84452action=edit
File was created in LO - numbering was TimesNewRoman, opened and saved in
MSO2010 - broken numbering

If I use in .odt file numbering (customized is Position and options) and save
the file as *.doc, reopen it in Ms Word (2010), save it and reopen it in LO,
the numbering charakter format changes from Times new roman to Wingdings (or
Symbol) and has to be manually changed back to TNR.
These causes a lot of problems if you work on one document with somebody who
uses MSO.

I add 4 files.
1. Files is original clear .odt file I use from a self-created template.
2. File is the same file saved as .doc in LO.
3. File is the same file saved as .docx in LO.
4. File is reopened and saved file .doc in MS-O 2010. - IF YOU OPEN THIS FILE
IN LO, you can see how the format of numbering has changed.
5. File is reopened and saved file .doc in MS-O 2010.

Summary:
1. Open a clear .odt file.
2. Use numbering (I think and hope it should not depend on customized numbering
or customized template).
3. Save the file as *.doc.
4. Open it in MS-O and SAVE IT.
5. Reopen the file in LO.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68275

--- Comment #3 from Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com ---
Hmph, so (without debugging it properly yet) IIRC we had a valgrind warning on
an initialized nByte1, so that was presumably in TIFFReader::ConvertScanline
where there is only one use of nByte1 outside of the initial construction
so I guess that suggests that the ancient...

if ( nByte1 == 'I' )
pt++;

where nByte1 was a random number and never happened was accidentally the right
thing to do all along.

I wonder if it wanted to set things up to do some byteswapping foo, but I don't
see a need for any there ?

So, best it probably to revert my fix and add removing the use of the then
uninited nByte1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67899] MS Word can't export to PDF a .doc file with a pasted shape from LibO Draw

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67899

--- Comment #14 from Reinhard Weber reinhard.we...@a1telekom.at ---
(In reply to comment #13)
thanks 4 the attached files. they will help a lot.
unfortunately I don't
have MS Word to test so I ask help from other QA guys.

modified the summary
notes to make clearer that the PDF export has to be done with MS Word

just
some final questions for you (please reply, feedback is important):

1-
which Apache OO version did you use?

2- have you tried exporting to PDF
with Word an .odt file with a Draw shape? is there still different behaviour
 between AOO and LibO?

3- why not opening the original .doc file with LibO
Writer instead of MS Word? I suppose you know that LibO can read and save
.doc files as well. Again, see Comment 3, I don't understand why using Word
instead of Writer to open a file just to paste elements from Draw... you
could do the whole thing with just one software.

changing status to
 UNCONFIRMED again.
when the bug will be independently reproduced by another
user status can be changed to NEW which means the bug is confirmed.

My last satement to clarify this issue: I've to write my thesis based on a
Microsoft Word template. Writer cannot be used for this need, because it
doesn't handle the styles correctly (but this isn't part of this ticket).

My drawings are all done with Libre Office Draw. These drawings are copied from
a Libre Office Draw document ([CTRL] + [C]) into Word ([CTRL] + [V]. After
that, it isn't possible to save the Word dokument as a PDF or XSP with the
original build in Microsoft export feature.

When I open the same Draw ODG file with Apache Open Office 4.0.0 and copy the
same sketch from the ODG file to the Word document it IS possible to save the
Word document as PDF os XSP ...

This proofs, that there is a difference of handling enhanced meta files between
Libre Office Draw and Apache Office Draw because using Apache the build in
feature of Word to export the document as PDF (or XSP) still works ...
