[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44135] Some PDF viewers are unable to render shaded objects from Libreoffice with transparency when exported as PDF (writer and draw verified)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44135 --- Comment #53 from jwoithe jwoi...@just42.net --- Further to comment 51, it seems that Libreoffice 4.1.3 can successfully print the Minimal ODT test case to illustrate this bug (attachment 75023) on CUPS 1.5.4 under Slackware 14.0. As per comment 51, this same CUPS version failed when used with Libreoffice 4.0.2. It would appear that Libreoffice 4.1.x changed something which happens to make this version of CUPS happier. However, the issue is not resolved yet because I note that the PDF exported by Libreoffice 4.1.3 still fails to render correctly under xpdf 3.02. Problem description: In a new DOC file, with A3 landscape format and two columns, the column break in page 1 isn't saved by Writer, so i save and close the file with the column break inserted, after i reopen the file and the column break is not manteined. I resolve if the DOC file has been saved in ODT, RTF or DOCX format, then re-saved in DOC file. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new Writer file 2. Set A3 in Landscape and 2 columns 3. Insert a column brake in page 1 and text in column 2 4. Save as .DOC file 5. Close the file 6. Re-open the file 7. You'll see that the column break has been deleted, and the text is all in column 1. 8. Re-open the document, re-insert the column break and save the document as RTF,DOCX or ODT, finally close it. 9. Open the document and you'll see it mantains the column break. 10. Save as DOC format and exit. 11. Re-open the document in DOC format and you'll see that is ok. Current behavior: The column break is not manteined by Writer, only if i work from the beginning in DOC format without using any other format. If i first save in ODT, DOCX or RTF format, then i re-save in DOC, the problem doesn't occur. In any case, I have now done a test on an OS platform similar to what you're using, and found that the bug does occur in that test setup. The cumulative distribution calculates well to a maximum value of 1, but the probability density has values of ~18 at the highest point. If you add the values for the probability density you get a number 1000 higher. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probability_density_function a probability density function is a function that describes the relative likelihood for this random variable to take on a given value. I'd therefore assume that return values for our version of this function would be in a range like [0, 100] or [0, 1]. Our Help docs don't specify the range of the function: https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Statistical_Functions_Part_Four#NORMDIST ...so at the very least this is a case of missing documentation. If the output range is supposed to be [0, 1], then a return value of 18 is also a bug in the implementation. If your document contains sensitive data, please clear that or replace it with random information. A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue is most helpful and will help to speed up the processing of this problem a lot. I see repro steps already but I'm very unsure what you mean exactly. 1) Copying images from PDF? How do you do that? Please describe every exact step. Do you make screenshots? You mark them and then copy paste? That does not work for me. 2) I suggest rather creating a screenshot or extract the image otherwise and then add the image to impress via menu Insert Image From file ... Please create an impress file showing the issue and post exact steps of what you are doing, then we can see if the behavior is reproducible. Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided. After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks :) Ok I send a small video that explains that situation. https://s3.amazonaws.com/partilhar/copypastemovie.mp4 What I found is that if I use ctrl instead of cmd key for the same function - to re-size the image in a overall way, this doesn't happen. Bug is marked as an enhancement; so far, so good. Current behavior: When sending e-mail text, the system sends as an attachment. Expected behavior: I would like the text or spreadsheet to be sent in the body of the email and not as an attachment. This sounds like a limitation of your email client/the email system you're using. Looks like Outlook might offer some kind of integration for this: http://www.ehow.com/how_5937512_send-excel-spreadsheet-email.html As LibreOffice does not include an email client or related email tools into the project, this appears to be outside the scope of what we could implement in our office suite. I have noticed the following behaviour maybe since I switched from Version 3 and it did not work correctly since then, but it did before (Can't remember the exact version, but it has been a year or so since it last worked). In the database there is a Form where I can enter Date+Time in the following Format: DD.MM.YY HH:MM. When just entering DD.MM (e.g. 31.12 (no dot after month!) for Dec. 31st of the running year) it used to work and Base would fill in the Date to 31.12.13 00:00 (in this year 2013). But it does convert 31.12 to 02.01.31 00:00 ! 31.12. (with the dot) works as it should. The Language setting for date recognition is set correctly to D.M.Y;D.M.;D.M (German Version), so as I understand it it should work, but it doesn't. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72919] New: Other: UNO-API PDF Mass Export breaks layout
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72919 Priority: medium Bug ID: 72919 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Other: UNO-API PDF Mass Export breaks layout Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: h...@9tw.de Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.0.4 release Component: Printing and PDF export Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 91043 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=91043action=edit Sample Eclipse project reproducing the error under windows Problem description: We are using LibreOffice as a server for PDF generation. We load a template (Which is a regular .odt file), do some things with it and save it to pdf format. When doing this under Windows, the PDF-Files Layout gets corrupted after some repeats. With more complex layouted files, this problem occures earlier, when using some simple styled document, it takes a bit longer to occure. This is happening with Libre- and OpenOffice. We tested Versions from 3.5 up to 4.2, the error is the same in all Versions. This error does not occure on Linux Systems, which use the CUPS-PDF-Printer for this task. Therefore I blame the internal PDF Converter in the Windows Version as beeing the source of this error. Steps to reproduce: Prerequisites: JRE and Eclipse 1. Unpack PdfTest.zip 2. Start Eclipse 3. Import... Existing project into Workspace 4. Select unpacked PdfTest folder 5. run programm as Java Application 6. check PDF Files beginning with template under C:\Users\Username\AppData\Temp\ for corrupt Layout. 7. If no files are corrupt, run the programm again, without restarting soffice.bin, check again. Current behavior: After 200 ~ 2000 generated PDF files, the Layout of the PDF files degenerates. In the test file this means the bold and italic Formating is missing, Arial Font becomes Times New Roman. Expected behavior: Layout should not be degenerating when producing large amounts of PDF files. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72916] Precise Date and Time entry is not possible anymore since Update to 4.1
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72916 --- Comment #5 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- Hi Lionel, I can see it in official 4.1.3.2 on OSX with an embedded hsqldb. Sorry about the severity thing, I was in the process of resetting it. Is this linked to the new nanosecond representation of time which doesn't get converted precisely back for java's time struct ?
