Steve:
On pc Debian x86-64 with 4.1.3.2 Debian package, I can see the 4 sentences in
the file attached in the email you sent me in private.
BTW, with this link,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?bugid=73150action=enter, you can
attach your file in the bugtracker, so other people can give it a try.

About ppa, here are some explanation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Package_Archive

So you may just add LibreOffice ppa in your repositories and install a newer
version.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73151] Navigator, Gallery, StylesFormatting should open in the Sidebar

2013-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73151

--- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze heiko.tie...@user-prompt.com ---
Different actions to show sidebars floating or docked? Sounds like bad
usability, if I got you right, because it mixes enabling and kind of
visualization.
I suggest to always show the header for sidebars to indicates its features.
This could be an improvement to the Navigator but must not be shown with the
standard toolbar.
The default state of 'major relevant' toolbars should be docked, which might be
Samuel's intention. Some other 'minor relevant' toolbars are shown rather
floating by default, e.g. Extras. I guess the actual behavior, some toolbars
are docked right now others are not, is done by hard coding.
Finally, keep in mind that sidebars are very handy for widescreens but with a
4:3 15 display I'd like to see all text. So my conclusion is to keep it as it
is but store last user setting (cf. ticket #55087).

Maurice reports by E-mail that he has removed his profile, and the problems
persist.

Maurice - can you confirm that you have no extensions installed ? This is not
the 1st instance of problems in calc around formula editing and Java - I
suspect that we attempt to use the scripting framework to check if there are
any scripts present in each language (or something similarly silly), and this
blows up with Java. what does Tools-Extension Manager show ? (another
screenshot would be awesome).

Maurice - can you report whether Calc continues to work if you hit 'ok' ? I
appreciate it throws up a scary looking dialog but ... it shoudl continue to
work.

It sounds like we've got some problem here rather than all of the installed
JRE's being defective of course :-)

What would be really helpful would be to get a better exception message out of
that beastie I guess.

Stephan - any thoughts ? marking a MAB anyway.

void SAL_CALL JavaInteractionHandler::handle( const Reference
XInteractionRequest  Request ) throw (RuntimeException)

is where the error comes from:

com::sun::star::java::JavaVMCreationFailureExceptione4;
...
else if ( anyExc = e4 )
{
if( !(m_bShowErrorsOnce  m_bVMCreationFailure_Handled))
{
// Java not correctly installed, or damaged
SolarMutexGuard aSolarGuard;
m_bVMCreationFailure_Handled = true;
#ifdef MACOSX
ErrorBox aErrorBox( NULL, SvtResId( ERRORBOX_JVMCREATIONFAILED_MAC
) );
#else
ErrorBox aErrorBox( NULL, SvtResId( ERRORBOX_JVMCREATIONFAILED ) );
#endif
aErrorBox.SetText(SvtResId( STR_ERROR_JVMCREATIONFAILED
).toString());
nResult = aErrorBox.Execute();
}
else

I guess we could try to provide / tunnel through more useful data here from the
exception ? then again there is no useful information in the exception as it is
thrown either.

stoc/source/javavm/javavm.cxx:

css::java::JavaVMCreationFailureException exc(
OUString(JavaVirtualMachine::getJavaVM failed because Java is
defective!),
static_cast cppu::OWeakObject * (this), 0);
askForRetry(css::uno::makeAny(exc));

I guess (?).

Thanks !

Hello Thomas,

thanks for the links, so i was able to learn :)

Anyhow, since (AFAIK) LibreOffice should be a common tool (not just for
typesetters typographers) and these terms are really hard terms for the rest
of the German speaking world, i'd suggest to at least indicate that these words
are professional jargon like e.g. (mind the important (typ.))

Regel für Schusterjungen (typ.) and
Regel für Hurenkinder (typ.)

But just closing the bug like apache and offending (from the users point of
view) the big majority of the product's target audience wouldn't be an option
for me.

Regards,
Tom

P.S.: Whatever comes out here: Since i know how much work it can be to work
voluntarily on an OSS-project like this, i want to take the opportunity to
thank you all for your efforts!

Can you please use https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ and try to create
more informative bug reports. The way you currently report is not too
constructive since lots of info is missing. Every good bug report has exact
repro steps. If we can't reproduce it's almost certain, your bug won't get
fixed any time soon.

Basically: the better the report, the faster the issue will be fixed.

So: Can you please provide a test document so this can be tested against and

clear that or replace it with random information.

A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue is most helpful and

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73164] Page number does not 'continue' after Page Break with Page Style

2013-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73164

--- Comment #2 from miker...@googlemail.com ---
I am still seeing some problems in the master build.

If you use the attached test document, right click the first paragraph on the
second page and set the Page number to 1 then OK. You will see the the
footer on the second page is now Page 1 of 4 (even though there are only 3
pages).

Now if you edit the first paragraph on the second page again and set the page
number back to 0, it will show Page 0 of 3 in the footer. However closing the
file and opening it will sort things out so the second page correctly becomes
Page 2 of 3.

Just to make sure I am testing with the correct build, this is the information
from the About dialog.

Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: fed8a0b291eca0565071da27d6fb7c7c5f331dcd

Theodoros:
try the raw method:
- uninstall LibreOffice/Apache OpenOffice
- remove any related directories in Program files
- rename (or remove if you don't need it) LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows)
- clean your Windows registry with a free tool (eg: ccleaner)
- download last LO package from official website
(http://www.libreoffice.org/download)
- install the package
- try again

If your antivirus still detects a pb, please contact the editor of antivirus
since it's certainly a false positive.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73186] New: FILESAVE does not remember color settings to objects

2013-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73186

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73186
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: FILESAVE does not remember color settings to objects
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: johan.haspesl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 91360
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=91360action=edit
illustrates the color changes after reopening the file

I attributed a new color gradient to an object in Draw. The color gradient is
saved in the list as 'kleurovergang 10' (I am using the Dutch version).

When saving the Draw file and reopening it later the gradient color changed to
the default blue of LibreOffice.

In the file attached you can see what happens. You see a drawing of a printer
with a blue rectangle at the top left. What I intended is a color gradient with
yellow pastel. I applied this color gradient to the bottom left printer
drawing. But after saving, closing and reopening the file the rectangle turns
blue like the top one.

I included a screen snapshot in the file just before closing the file. There
you see the yellow pastel at the bottom.

I noticed when reopening that a new gradient was created with name 'gradient
10' containing the original libreoffice blue. Perhaps the cause is to be looked
at the localisation (as gradient is the english for kleurovergang).

2013-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #6 from Mirek2 maz...@gmail.com ---
This is one of the problems that the sidebar brings -- now there are two
Navigators, two Galleries, and two Style panels. The benefit of individual
panels is that two can be open at a time, while the Sidebar includes features
not found in individual panels.

Ideally, the panels unique to the sidebar would be turned into separate panels,
and panels in general would be allowed to be stacked into tabbed groups, much
like panels in GIMP (or Adobe's tools).

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73187

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73187
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: FILEOPEN: Opening .odt file from Windows Share starts
LO Math instead of Writer
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: ulrich.mo...@zpk-moser.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

I use a NAS-Server that exports its directories as Windows Shares and I access
them using the smbclient. When trying to open a text file directly from the
share LO 4.1.4.2 always invokes Math instead of Writer. This did not happen in
LO 4.1.3.2. Copying the file to a local directory and trying to open it works
as expected.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.1.4.2 release
Last worked in: 4.1.3.2 release

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73168] Crash with a message JRE is Defective

2013-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73168

--- Comment #4 from Maurice Glover maurice.glo...@gloverco.com ---
Michael

This will obviously sounds completely stupid but what extension are you
talking about.

The screenshots pdf attached (131231 Bug report 73168 screenshots) shows
a number of extensions which I have not myself consciously installed.

Going bacck to my crashing spreadsheet, When I had pressed OK to the JRE
is Defective message it did not crash immediately
but as soon as I tried to put in an = formula, up popped the message. I
then pressed the ESC key
and up popped the Runtime Error!:

Program:

This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I then pressed Okay and it automatically and instantaneously closed
Libreoffice

I recovered the spreadsheet and sods law but I can't now get it to crash!
Yesterday several different calc files were crashing.

Very puzzling!

 Stephan - any thoughts ? marking a MAB anyway.

 void SAL_CALL JavaInteractionHandler::handle( const Reference
 XInteractionRequest  Request ) throw (RuntimeException)

 is where the error comes from:

 com::sun::star::java::JavaVMCreationFailureExceptione4;
 ...
 else if ( anyExc = e4 )
 {
 if( !(m_bShowErrorsOnce  m_bVMCreationFailure_Handled))
 {
 // Java not correctly installed, or damaged
 SolarMutexGuard aSolarGuard;
 m_bVMCreationFailure_Handled = true;
 #ifdef MACOSX
 ErrorBox aErrorBox( NULL, SvtResId( ERRORBOX_JVMCREATIONFAILED_MAC
 ) );
 #else
 ErrorBox aErrorBox( NULL, SvtResId( ERRORBOX_JVMCREATIONFAILED )
 );
 #endif
 aErrorBox.SetText(SvtResId( STR_ERROR_JVMCREATIONFAILED
 ).toString());
 nResult = aErrorBox.Execute();
 }
 else

 I guess we could try to provide / tunnel through more useful data here from
 the
 exception ? then again there is no useful information in the exception as it
 is
 thrown either.

 stoc/source/javavm/javavm.cxx:

 css::java::JavaVMCreationFailureException exc(
 OUString(JavaVirtualMachine::getJavaVM failed because Java is
 defective!),
 static_cast cppu::OWeakObject * (this), 0);
 askForRetry(css::uno::makeAny(exc));

 I guess (?).

 Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34472] Paragraph indent cannot work well in using char unit

--- Comment #8 from A stgohi-lob...@yahoo.de ---
Thanks for your feedback.

Now I understand you had enabled SHOW UI ELEMENTS FOR EAST ASIAN WRITINGS under
TOOLS - OPTIONS - LANGUAGE SETTINGS - LANGUAGES.
Because otherwise you will have under TOOLS - OPTIONS - LIBREOFFICE WRITER -
GENERAL in the SETTINGS part for MEASUREMENT UNIT only the following
alternatives: Milimeter, Centimeter, Inch, Pica and Point, but no Char.
But with the East Asian elements I have now the chars.

And I can reproduce (LO 4.1.4.2, Win8) if I set the indent to 1,00 char (in
BEFORE TEXT) under FORMAT - PARAGRAPH - tab INDENTS SPACING with font size
12 and then change the font size to 20 the indent stays as before.
But because I have no knowledge about this char indent can anybody else
reconfirm this issue?

Hi Ulrich,

I'm sure that it has nothing to do with bug 72460, since accessing FTP and SMB
involves completely different code. Instead there are some known problems with
SMB, and in order to identify what exactly problem do you have, please answer
the following questions:

- What version of Ubuntu do you use?
- Which file manager do you use?
- What the source of LibreOffice packages that you use? Ubuntu repositories,
PPA, or downloaded from http://www.libreoffice.org/download?
- And do both 4.1.3 and 4.1.4 are from the same source?
- In case the packages are from Ubuntu repositories or PPA, please open the
package manager (like Synaptic) and check if you have 'libreoffice-gnome'
package installed.
- In case the packages are from http://www.libreoffice.org/download, check if
you have 'libgnomevfs2-extra' and 'liborbit2' packages installed.

Thanks.

Hello,
I opened a file (written with LO 4.1.4.2) with LO 4.2.0.1 and Math baseline
alignement checked.

All formulae are in a wrong position with VertOrientPosition = 0.

To my mind, it's not possible to release LO 4.2 with such a bug.

I hope somebody could find where is the problem and so fix the bug.

Happy new year to everybody who read this comment.

Apparently, this bug persists in debian releases later than 3.5.7.2.

This demo file contains five paragraphs; the third one is formatted as hidden
text.

On a 64-bit release, you will only see paragraphs 1, 2, 4 and 5 when toggling
with CTRL-F10 or clicking the '⁋' icon on the tool bar.

On a 32-bit release (if you can still find such a machine), the third paragraph
will alternately appear and disappear as you toggle.

Did you install any LO specific extensions? No

Do you reproduce this with a brand new file? Yes

Do you have accessibility components enabled? Don't think so, how would I
check?

Do you reproduce this after having renamed your LO directory profile? (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#GNU.2FLinux) After a quick try,
it seems to work, will let you know if it recurs over the next few days, as I'm
in the process of writing something that will necessitate quite a bit of use.
However, even if it does fix the problem, since it seems to be a frequent event
(judging by the number of times it's happened to me), surely there must be a
permanent fix that doesn't require regular renaming of the user folder. I'm not
a naive user, but it must be a major problem for those that are, given that
I've noted this on 3 separate computers (all running Ubuntu, but probably not
all using 12.04, as I resisted for some time, lol).

Could you give a try to a newer LO version by using ppa repo? (see
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa) I'll leave this until I am
sure the previous fix didn't work.

I can confirm that this issue still exists in the current 4.1.4.2 release.
Apparently the default style in LibreOffice was renamed from Default to
Default Style since this bug reported in LibreOffice 3.5.5.3. In order to
reproduce this bug with the new version, a slight modification to the above
Steps to reproduce is required:

1. Change interface language to German and restart office.
2. Create a new text document, add some text.
3. Add a new user defined style called Default Style. Do this by opening the
Styles and formating window (F11). Right click on the style called Standard
and click New... (Neu... in german). Set the style name to Default Style.
Then change this new style's font to Verdana. Note that this don't change
anything in your document as in german the default style is called Standard.
4. Save the document as .ott.
5. Change interface language to English and restart office.
6. Open the .ott file. Your document default style now has Verdana set as
font.

--- Comment #28 from Maxim Monastirsky momonas...@gmail.com ---
The bug with opening UOP consists of two problems:

1) The xsl files were written with Xalan in mind, and they don't work with
libxslt (which is what LO uses currently). Just try it yourself:

This will output several errors in xsl files:
$ xsltproc --output out.fodp
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/xslt/import/uof/uof2odf_presentation.xsl test.uop

But this will output a valid Flat ODF presentation:
$ xalan -in test.uof -out out.uof -xsl
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/xslt/import/uof/uof2odf_presentation.xsl

2) The output fodp file doesn't contain
office:mimetype=application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation, so XML
detection code can't detect it.

(In reply to comment #28)
 2) The output fodp file doesn't contain
 office:mimetype=application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation, so XML
 detection code can't detect it.
In fact it should detect the uop (there is no fodp file), so it's not a bug.

On Win7 and LO 4.1.4.2, I can confirm this.

Jesus: I think updating fragments (see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?q=xlsproject=coredefs=refs=path=filter%2Fsource%2Fconfig%2Ffragments%2Ftypeshist=)
may help but I'm not sure and don't know how to test this.
Any idea?

test 4.1.1 - I can't download it in this version at present. Will

 Hello Vince,

 I have downloaded the database and tested with some data. The bug you
 reported
 appears here only with versions LO 4.1.0.0beta1 up to LO 4.1.0.4.
 I doesn't see the bug with Version: 4.1.1.1
 Build ID: a990db030b8125868501634ff662be1d89d0868.

 In your report you have written, that this is the version the bug appeared
 with
 your system.

 I can't reproduce the bug with my system (OpenSUSE 12.3, 64bit, rpm-Linux)
 and
 the version you described. The bug, which appears here, had been bug67235,
 which had been fixed in 4.1.1

A page not found error is not an os, browser, or firewall error. It is a
linking or server error on the website.

All versions showed this error. It appears to have been a temporary server
error because today the links work.

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73188
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: EDITING: Report-Builder: Submenues of Buttons won't
open (fontcolor, backgroundcolor etc.)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.1.0.0.beta2
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 91372
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=91372action=edit
Database with a report. Try to change the color of a labelfield by using the
icon.

Open a database, for example the attached database.
Mark a textbox or a labelfield.
Try to set, for example, the color of this field by using the symbol, which
shows an arrow for opening a submenue.

The submenue doesn't open since LO 4.1.*. Couldn't test with 4.1.0.0beta1,
because reports couldn't be opened with this version, but with 4.1.0.0beta2 and
all versions after this version it doesen't work. Lo 4.0.5.2 and all versions
before open a submenue for the fontcolor, the backgroundcolor and the shapes
(if the symbols are shown ...)
