[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75175] UI: Options get cut off because window is too small

2014-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75175

--- Comment #4 from Jeff jdorenb...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #2)
 tested under Win7x64 with 4.2.0.4
options menus are not cut off
 probably a Linux specific issue

  Version: 4.2.1.1
  Build ID: 420m0(Build:1)
  Operating System: Ubuntu
  Version: 4.2.0.4 release

are you reporting the bug against 4.2.1.1 or 4.2.0.4 or both?

I'm not sure why two versions were listed, but to clarify, the current
installed version I have is 4.2.1.1 and that's what I'm reporting this bug
from.

However, I've noticied this issue since I upgraded, so any version of 4.2.x
that I had installed was affected.

Line Number 1, Column 62:!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0

This suggests that the file was produced by internal HTML export, not the
XHTML XSLT export. But I have no idea how this could have happened if you
 really used export to xhtml...

I am surprised as well... :-)

I tested using attachment 78645 [details] from bug 64067. I had trouble
opening the file in the GUI, so I did the conversion headless on the command
  line:

  ./soffice --headless --convert-to xhtml index.html

This produces well-formed XHTML file here. Could you attach your output?

Output compressed and attached as index.xhtml.zip

It's already broken in OOo 3.3.0
Lately in LibreOffice the menu Edit Paste special has been disabled.

However, it's a very convenient view to work in with texts, but pasting when

So I set this to normal and to proposed easy hack.

Prblem with API storeToURL, is not converting files with special characters is
generating corrupt files, if files is not having specail characters is not
converting to pdf properly.

If API is able to convert all the possible character to pdf and not special
characters file names then above comments are strange observations

  +{COMMENT, ROLE_SYSTEM_WINDOW /* ?FIXME? */ },
  +{COMMENT_END, ROLE_SYSTEM_WINDOW /* ?FIXME? */ },
Jamie, what are the best mappings for these two?
First, ROLE_SYSTEM_WINDOW probably shouldn't be used by anything else except
oleacc. This role generally refers to the window itself, including the
non-client areas such as the title bar, system menu bar, application menu bar,
etc. If you need a fallback role for text stuff, I'd probably go with
IA2_ROLE_TEXT_FRAME.

As for these two, the best I can come up with for now is IA2_ROLE_NOTE. We've
never had to map these before. If it becomes an issue, we may need to try to
get new roles into the IA2 spec.

mark is beside the words. And the spaces between lines of the same paragraph
are different. Typed Characters are displayed after a long delay. (See fotos on
comments 9 and 10.)

But if I export the Document to PDF or make a Screenshot, everything is right.
If I use the Frutiger with XeTeX everything is OK.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75252] New: Allow to select a new default for Edit-Paste in Edit-Paste Special

2014-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75252

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75252
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Allow to select a new default for Edit-Paste in
Edit-Paste Special
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: fabian+deb...@greffrath.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.4.2 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Dear LO devs,

I am currently preparing a Writer document in which I include a lot of graphics
from the Internet, e.g. from Wikipedia. For this I right-click on the graphic
in my Browser (Firefox/Iceweasel), select Copy and then right-click on the
target location in my Writer document and select Paste. By default, however,
and against my expectations, not the actual graphic gets inserted into the
document, but merely a hyperlink which references the graphic URL and loads it
over network on demand. Since the performance when rendering my document
suffers from this and I furthermore want to make sure the document is ligible
even without an internet conenction, I make a detour and select Edit-Paste
Special-Bitmap instead. Now, imagine having to do this for 100 graphics...

What I am missing is a check boy in the Paste Special window that allows to set
my next selection, i.e. Bitmap in my case, as the new default format for the
general Paste action *for this data type*. So my suggested work flow would be:

- Copy graphic in browser
- Edit-Paste Special in Writer
- Set target to Bitmap
- *Check Select as the new default box*
- Click OK
- Copy graphic in browser
- Edit-Paste
- Repeat...

Thank for your consideration!

 - Fabian

--- Comment #6 from Vikram j.vik...@samsung.com ---
Hello

w.r.t comment #5
Also retry with LO 4.2.0.1 please
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

An excel file of 100 MB is itself not opening on Libre Office 4.2.0.1 version.
Libre office closes while opening the excel file itself.

Now when using SDK to convert the same file to PDF, is not able to convert it.

It seems to be memory limitation issue.

Regards
Vikram

--- Comment #2 from Alex Labram a...@m2cc.co.uk ---
Hi Sophie,

Per my original bug report, there is no obvious way to get in touch with the
maintainer of this extension. The extension page doesn't list any contact
details, and neither does the extension source code.

The extension is clearly actively maintained - last update Oct 2013 - but I
have no way of finding out by whom. So labelling this NOTOURBUG puts me in a
bit of a catch-22.

Should I be refiling this as an infrastructure bug? (Lack of contact info on
extension pages.)

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Fabian,

thanks for the issue and your idea. I think it would be a useful addition.
Set to Enhancement and version to inherited from OOo (behaviour as is, is
here for a long long time).

For time being, you might consider the following:
  - Ctrl+Shft+V (opens dialog)
  - B(sets focus on Bitmap)
  - Enter(triggers OK)

;)

See Attached document, which is an ODT. Open this file with LibreOffice 4.1.1
(but prob also in 3.5.x), and save it as DOCX.
Try to open this DOCX in MS Word (2010) and see that you get an error about
invalid XML in 'footer3.xml' file.
Checking this XML file indeed reveals that some tags are not closed (t:r, t:c
and t:tbl), probably because it's a table in table situation.

Hi.

Under WORD, the frame has style d'habillage=Encadré and Positionnement du
texte=Des deux cotés (sorry, I have W97 in French), and only the first indent
(Positif 1,27 cm) of your sentence Artistically positioned text is taken into
account.

UNder LibO 4.2.0.4 on Win7, the frame has Wrap - Page wrap, and both indents
(Before text 5.08 cm and First line 1.27 cm) of your sentence are taken into
account.

In both cases, the horizontal ruler seems inconsistent with your sentence's
placement when the caret is in it, but drag the text box to the right, you will
notice that it is not the case.

Related to bug 71319.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75259] New: FILTER Auto filter on imported database range does not work on columns of data type text

2014-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75259

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 75259
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILTER Auto filter on imported database range does not
work on columns of data type text
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: gdna7...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 rc
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:
* Connect an exiting database.
* Press F4 and drag a query including a field of type text into Cell A1 of a
new spreadsheet file (ods).
* from cell A1 press Ctrl + Shift + End to select the whole range
* Data -- Filter -- Auto Filter
* Select an existing entry from the drop down menu ON A FIELD BEING OF TYPE
TEXT AND INCLUDING NUMBERS. e.g. the string 36000.
Expected behavior:
*Filter applied
Actual behavior
*Nothing is shown (all entries are hidden).

Worth noting:
1.Selecting the whole range and copying it into a new document, the filter is
working as expected.
2. Saving and closing the document -- filter is working. However if you insert
a new query in the document and repeat the above steps, it is not working until
saved, closed and reopened.
3. This is a regression compared to 4.1.5 and prior (I did not install 4.2.0,
since my experience with .0 was seldom good) and the usecase should not be too
seldom for people using base and calc, which is why I classified it as major.

Unfortunately I cannot provide a document, as:
1. As described under worth noting, it would not show the bug,
2. The documents I experienced this with, are used for work and contain
sensible information.

Reproduced with LibO 4.2.0.4 on Win7.

After the crash, the recovery is announced as successful, but it is not the
case, the recovered text is on a page 2 while the original text had only one
page. So the misbehaviour may be tied to the precise content of attachement
94431 (a mix of text, tables and pictures).

Visually one can see that the select all doesn't select all, it doesn't
select the pages header ans footer, nor the table line beginning with Replace
with dates (from - to)

No crash when tried with a NEW document, filled with simple lines. I cann't yet

This report is a summary of what I think are the most important points this
improvement. Currently each master slide applies a single background and text
styling to a slide. In other suites, a single 'theme' contains multiple slide
backgrounds, each with its own text layout and styling. I downloaded a theme
from the a microsoft powerpoint theme library, and as you can see in the
attached picture, it loads, though with many interprobility (unsure of spelling
of that) errors. If you look at the upper right corner of the attached picture,
you can see that each design is displayed as a separate master slide. Though
with massive amounts of work it can be worked around, in day to day use, it
feels tedious, inefficient, and downright annoying. If a set of designs could
be integrated into a single set of master slides, displayed as a theme and with
the background being automatically changed with layout (choosing centered
text layout changes to the background associated with centered text). With
this upgrade would come the need for separate preset text styling for each
layout.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. open a LibO (writer) document. Copy and paste from within that LibO
(writer) document to within that LibO document.
2. Open a web page or non-LibO document and copy web page text or url
3. Past that text/url into the still open LibO (writer) document

Current behavior: The copied text from step 1 is pasted into the document

Expected behavior: The copied text from the web page/non-LibO document should
be pasted into the document.

Current work around is to close all LibO documents, which clears the LibO
clipboard. Re-open the LibO document and paste before doing any cut/copy from
within LibO

Previously reported in Bug 62196 which does not appear in current known bug

So to reproduce :
- open a writer document
- go under Tool Options Language setting linguistic
- under User define dictionaries, click on New
- give a name to the dictionary, check Exceptions and close
- select the new dictionary in the list and click Edit
- in the dialog that opens, enter Foo under the Word field and Bar under the
Replace by field.
Close all the dialogs to go back to the Writer document.
Type Foo in the document, if it doesn't exist in your language, the dictionary
check will underline it. Right click on it, the first proposition in the list
will be Bar. If the word exists, no suggestion will be made as there is nothing
to correct.
== my conclusion, you can't expect a spell checker to make a suggestion when
there is nothing to correct. Instead, the replacement table is done to handle
those cases or press Ctrl+F7 to bring a list of synonymous.
Closing, as imho it should not be handled by the spellchecker and can be
already set. Sophie

Hello Christian,

Thanks for reporting this.
This behaviour was previously reported in

Hi, could you join the original odt and the pdf document that is not printable
otherwise we won't be able to try to reproduce your issue. Also what is your
operating system and the pdf application you are using? Thanks -

I'll focus on just preserving the Excel line types during opening and
re-saving. The rest are different issues that should be handled in different
bugs (due to the larger scope of the whole border line issues).

A small note: removing accents in ΌΠΩΣ is the font's duty. Capitalized words
should be stored in their normative spelling, with accents.
