[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77482] Writer: Inserting multi worded autotexts adds unnecessary line break
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77482 --- Comment #4 from a07cd040897db54e1...@spambog.com --- (In reply to comment #3) Hello Laurent, I cannot reproduce with Autotext New. I can only reproduce if I select Autotext New (Text only) which is the same as bug 53023. You are right. This seems to be the same bug. As you can see in attachment #97395 i also used New (Text only). For my case I can *NOT* workaround this issue by using Autotext New because this also adds the current formatting of the text. As we use many different preformatted document templates with styles+formatting templates these two kinds of formatting would produce inexpected results. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

As draw couldn't import or open PDF, I opened the PDF in Impress, selected all, copies and pasted it into draw, duplicated and move it to ful fill the requirement. After print I saw some unusual character spacing that wasn't seen in the Original PDF). The test case is this: I have a PDF produced with Inkscape in Linux and exported to PDF (Cairo, I think). When Opening the PDF in Impress, the problem manifests as the word Signature(s) being shown as Signa tures(2) (It seems there are other artefacts also, but I'll concentrate on that one). I'll provide a sample PDF file as well as partial screen shots, trying to show that the problem is not the PDF file. I also tried opening the PDF on the same Linux platform that created it (to rule out a missing font issue), but the result is the same. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I will test the daily build in a day or so (allowing time for the fix to propagate there). Note that the issue is not fully fixed yet. I'm pushing incremental changes to master, and some robot is setting this issue's whiteboard target when it sees commits that mention this issue's ID. I will make note here once the issue is fully fixed on master. The whiteboard indicates the fix is targetting 4.3.0. Since this problem more or less makes 4.2.x a non-starter in a business environment (where preservation of access modes is important), is there any chance it could be pushed into a 4.2.x maintenance release as well? It appears to be a fairly important bugfix to me, at least as far as Linux users are concerned. Depending on the ultimate fix, backporting could be somewhat tricky. And given that this issue is reported against LO 3.6 (and is probably even older than LO itself), I'm not sure how pressing a fix for 4.2 vs. 4.3 actually is overall. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59699] RTF: INCLUDEPICTURE image not shown
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59699 --- Comment #5 from Albrecht Müller albrecht.muel...@astrail.de --- Using a very old installation of Star Office 9 I was able to convert a .rtf file containing linked pictures into an .odt file. LibreOffice displays the converted file correctly. There are some flaws however: A more then 15 years old version of Word, Word97, shows the pictures in some reasonable default format, e.g. it scales larges pictures in a way such that they fit on a page. The .odf file seems to contain the pictures in their original size. This requires substantial work to format them by hand, and I think the related dialog box is confusing and lacks a feature that allows to change the scaling while maintainig a fixed aspect ratio, especially the aspect ratio of the original picture. I would expect that LibreOffice scales big linked pictures such that they fit on a page while maintaining the aspect ratio of the original as a default behaviour (the .rtf file may specify something else). A feature that allows to scale a picture using a fixed aspect ratio would be helpful. GIMPs user interface contains this kind of scaling transformations. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78151 Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||t...@libreoffice.org --- Comment #3 from Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com --- So, here's a video of how to achieve what you want to do with the current UI. http://youtu.be/Guqjv_uKadA Here's what I think we could do (without looking into the implementation details to see if thats plausible yet). 1. In the master slide view modify it so that any changes in formatting to the preview is automatically synced up to the outline level style. So formatting an outline level 2 preview changes outline level 2 style 2. Disallow changes to the preview which aren't logical, e.g. can't delete a paragraph from it, can't insert a paragraph, etc. Seeing as we aren't currently supporting custom text for the click-here to edit, disallow changing the text two and automatically select the entire paragraph and not allow partial selections of the paragraph. caolanm-thb: Does this sound plausible to you ? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78703] New: SLIDESHOW: fading slide transitions start with a white `flash'
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78703 Priority: medium Bug ID: 78703 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: SLIDESHOW: fading slide transitions start with a white `flash' Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: rene.sed...@gmx.at Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.4.2 release Component: Presentation Product: LibreOffice Problem description: The slide transitions `Fade smoothly' and `Fade through black' produce a white flash (like one frame of a video, sometimes the white screen is interrupted with black bars) before starting. The following slide is normal. Steps to reproduce: 1. Choose a background color of the previous slide (the one from which the effect starts from) which is different from white (otherwise the effect is barely visible but still there). 2. Set slide transition to either `Fade smoothly' or `Fade through black'. Already the preview shows the white flash but it gets really obvious on the presentation 3. Look at the transition in the slide show and `flash' your audience Current behavior: Slide transitions involving a fade start with a white flash or burst before operating normally. Expected behavior: The first frame of the transition should equal the starting slide without any glitches. Remark: I have Fedora 20, on kernel 3.14.3, x64 on an Asus UX51V with NVidia+Intel card (The intel card is active with nouveau as driver, glx active). Java, opengl, flash, etc. work usually correct without errors. The flash effect looks like if a non initialized page is simply displayed before the first rendered frame. Fill in A into B4 2. Fill in B into C7 3. Fill in C into C8 4. Fill in D into B8 5. Select the 4 fields, top left B7 to bottom right C8 6. Cut the fields 7. Select field B4 8. Ctrl+V (Paste) Current behavior: A prompt appears that warns you, that data will be overwritten and you can select Yes or No Expected behavior: I think there should be a third option merge data (and then the options should be Overwrite, Merge and No). In the original dataset the place for A was empty. In my opinion there is no need to overwrite field B4 in this case which a non-data field. I discovered this issue in a more complex context, but the principle stays the same. I can imagine, that this can get pretty complex, especially when things like borders, (background) colors etc. come into play, but I think the described enhancement is better in any way, you could still use the old behaviour using the Overwrite option if you prefer that. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78711 tmacalp tmac...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Severity|normal |enhancement CC||tmac...@gmail.com --- Comment #3 from tmacalp tmac...@gmail.com --- Just to make sure I understand this, you're proposing a third behavior where the selection stops when ANY of the cells on the front of the selection range collide with a empty/non-empty cell? Basically, it perform a select to block margin on each cell in your currently selected range and stop at the first collision? For instance, if we have a selection of A1:C1, and we press ctrl+shift+down, you want it to stop when we encounter ANY change in columns A, B, or C? In certain situations, that behavior would make things MUCH less efficient than even the non-legacy mode. For instance, if you had lots of randomly populated columns, it would render ctrl+shift+arrow entirely useless. I don't have any way to test this under MS Excel, but is this behavior really the new standard? I see no use for this behavior unless it already is an established standard and is implemented as another option for compatibility. Even if that is the case, it would still be an enhancement request. I will mark it as such. Whatever is decided, please do not modify the newly implemented Use legacy cursor movement behavior when selecting. I understand it will no longer be checked by default starting in 4.3, but that's fine as long as it's easy to enable. I still see it as the only useful selection mode available. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42535 --- Comment #9 from tmacalp tmac...@gmail.com --- As described in bug 62436, this bug seems to stem from all move to block margin operations immediately following a paste being wonky. Essentially, immediately after you paste into a cell, your next select/move to block margin operation(ctrl+arrow or ctrl+shift+arrow) will be erroneously based from cell A1 instead of the real cursor cell. My test: 1. Start a new spreadsheet 2. Insert a number in A10 3. Select any cell (C15 in this case) 4. Copy (Ctrl-C) 5. Paste into same cell (Ctrl-V) 6. Ctrl+shift+down Expected: We were in C15 when we performed the select to block margin action, so ctrl+shift+down should select the range C15:C1048576 Actual: Selects range A10:C15. This is because it selects from the cursor cell C15 to the cell ctrl+shift+down'd from A1. Since in step 2 we inserted a number into A10, it selects the range A10:C15. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
