I guess it's Linux only bug.

In addition to Andy's questions, local or network printer? If networked, I ever
experience similar issue using samba, try using IPP/cups instead..more
reliable.

Is the print job sent? Status?

Please inform your printer model also, perhaps someone here ever experience
similar issue with same printer.

I don't understand this bug.
Yes, libmerged is just a huge shared library. It should fail the same way if
you split it into many smaller.

So - is LO crashing? Can you provide any backtrace?
Or any way to reproduce this problem?

(In reply to comment #25)
There was an error in the installer which has been fixed now. Please try
 again tomorrow.

Today I tried
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-4-2/Win-x86@42/current/libo-42~2014-06-26_00.38.42_LibreOfficeDev_4.2.6.0.0_Win_x86.msi
The installer works again.

With this version, the WebDAV issue seems to be fixed. When I open a Doc via
WebDAV, save and close it (quickstart is still running) and re-open it, the Doc
opens like expected. Thanks.

Can please one of the others, who had this bug, confirm, that it works in their
environment, too?

As I said the hardware is fast:
- Intel Core i7-4750HQ CPU
- SSD 480GB (Crucial M500)
- 16 GiB RAM
And I double checked the test by saving files in /tmp, which is configured to
use tmpfs, so it's using RAM.

Since Debian Testing is updating things all the time, my current version of
LibreOffice is : Version: 4.2.4.2

Some more information:
I also use a VM with kubutu, which uses an other version of LibreOffice
(Version: 4.2.3.3), which doesn't have this issue. So it cannot be the
hardware.

The same goes for having parenthesis at before the period.

Regarding the all caps word at the end of the sentence, i believe that if

following sentence. I tested this with where are you going tomorrow JIMMY.

Confirmed in 4.1 and above on Linux Mint. In the DOCX file, there are two

expanded rather than vertical. In 4.0.6, it doesnt expand the frame vertically

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80346] Preferred default fonts for Asian and CTL documents should be Libre fonts

2014-06-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80346

--- Comment #5 from Adolfo Jayme f...@libreoffice.org ---
Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. Well, it would depend on the exact script
you’re talking about; again, the input of native readers of the language in
question is extremely valuable for a decision to be made.

But one must also take into account:
 1) Will the new fonts render well* under Windows (where LO is most used)?
 2) Will the users be happy about a potentially problematic change (e.g., doc.
reflow because of different font metrics) every time they create a new
document? Will they expect the change?
 3) Do the new fonts fix any bug (e.g., misdrawn glyphs or broken metrics)?
and so on...

When requesting a font change, a better rationale than “it’s a libre font” is
needed. But that’s just my opinion anyway, the ESC should be better prepared to

Monotype (supplies fonts for Microsoft). Although FLOSS has pretty much catched
up and there’s a tool called ttfautohint that makes fonts look awesome under
Windows.

i know i'm weird, but i click on the Edit File button a lot
to make an editable document read-only and thereby prevent myself
from accidentally modifying a document that i never intend to modify,
and also to remove the spell-checker underlines that distract when
just reading a document.

also, it prevents nag dialogs when opening the same file
with multiple LO installations, but probably that is something
only developers/QA do...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80297] Other: Partial LibreOffice 3.6.5 installation won't work after upgrade to 4.2.4.2

2014-06-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80297

--- Comment #9 from Olivier DAIAN olivier...@yahoo.fr ---
More tests done with Windows 7 64 bits... It seems upgrading from a partial
LibreOffice 3.6.5 install to LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 always crash.

Here are the tests results :

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual Typical installation of LibreOffice
4.2.4.2 (without MST) : OK

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual Typical installation of LibreOffice
3.6.5, then manual Typical installation (=upgrade) of LibreOffice 4.2.4.2
(without MST) : OK

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual partial (Draw + Impress) installation
of LibreOffice 3.6.5, then manual Typical installation (=upgrade) of
LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 (without MST) : NOK - App crash when opening LibreOffice
launcher, Draw or Impress (cf. crash 1)

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual partial (Draw + Impress) installation
of LibreOffice 3.6.5, then using comment #7 procedure (GPO) = NOK - Launcher
opens correctly but launching Draw or Impress gives a bluescreen and a reboot.

This behaviour of missing text is observed on windows build.
But on ubuntu it crashes.

(In reply to comment #3)
 I couldnt reproduce a crash in 3.3.0, 3.6 - 4.2, 4.2.6, 4.3 beta 2 or 4.4
alpha. But looking at reference number 43, none of the versions could
display the formula after 'UVA cost ='. But with 4.2 and above, all text in
endnotes after the formula arent being displayed, including the period right
 after the formula.

bisal: please confirm which version of 4.4 alpha that crashed and let us
know if it happens with the latest version, so that if it doesnt, we can
change the bug to the missing text issue.

doubt, it wasn't the intention to enlarge so-called 'labels'. I've switched it
to 'enhancement' and made a major edit.

The XP-version is currently the smallest in 4.3 RC1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80297] Other: Partial LibreOffice 3.6.5 installation won't work after upgrade to 4.2.4.2

2014-06-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80297

--- Comment #11 from Olivier DAIAN olivier...@yahoo.fr ---
Very strange, I suppose I made an error during some of my tests : Now all seems
to work fine when I apply the MST file that disable LibreLogo installation...

Tests (re)done :

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual partial (Draw + Impress) installation
of LibreOffice 3.6.5, then manual Custom installation (=upgrade) of LibreOffice
4.2.4.2 (without MST) deselecting LibreLogo : OK

- New Windows 7 64 bits install, manual partial (Draw + Impress) installation
of LibreOffice 3.6.5, then using comment #7 procedure (GPO) to upgrade to
LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 : OK (Yes... ?!?)

So, all seems OK for Windows XP, Windows 7 32 bits and Windows 7 64 bits.

Conclusion : Still this installer's behavior seems strange to me. If installing
full LibreOffice is the way to go with 4.2, I suppose upgrading should go the
same way by default, even if existing old version was only a partial
installation. For specific compatibility issues, using command line parameter
or MSI transformation (for GPSI usage) allows sysadmins to bypass this behavior
and deny MSI to install unwanted components. Is the LibreOffice 4.2 MSI
customization (parameters, values) documented in deep somewhere ?

I let big guys decide what status to give to this bug as my opinion is that
something should be made to help/guide sysadmins to obtain a working
LibreOffice 4.2 when coming from a partial old installation.

Hi Maarten - in the future please do not respond via email - it leaves a bunch
of extra text that clutters the bug comments :)

Ubuntu 14.04 x64

I cannot reproduce with 4.2.5.2 release nor 4.3 RC1

Attached is the pdf of my Print to file which should be identical result as
printing to a printer. That being said please:

1. Upgrade to 4.2.5.2 or 4.3 rc1
2. Reset your user profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

And then try again. If you could print to file and attach the resulting pdf
that would be great.

Marking as RESOLVED - WFM. If you do the above and you still get bad results
please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks!

Did you install any LO specific extension?
What's your Java version? (1.6, 1.7 32 or 64 bits)
Do you use specific fonts? (I mean fonts which are not out of box from Windows
or LO)

You can give a try to the raw method:
- uninstall LO
- clean your Windows registry with a free tool (like ccleaner)
- rename or remove (if you don't need it) your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
- install last LO version 4.2.5

Keep in mind that LO in Windows can only work with Java 32 bits (1.6 or 1.7).

Andras: Do you know if there's a problem with Pootle for slovenian part? I
don't understand why my screenshot could show slovenian translations and not
 the 4.3.0.1 from Miles.

Slovenians don't use Pootle. You use Linux. The bug occurs on OS X.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Open attached Demo-Hayden-Management-v2-chart.docx document in LO 4.2-4.3

I did find a temporary work-around (until the bug gets fixed).

If-I-Recall-Correctly :

In

OptionsUse OpenOffice Dialogue

change to uncheck Oo methods.

Re-Boot PC.

Now uses Windows(OS) methods instead.

Hope this helps -R

If we do go with C, and just drop NPAPI. I have a few follow up patches that
are in progress to do so (mostly done, but waiting for a decision before doing
more).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80571] New: Freezing caused by specific edit sequence (undoing CTRL+D of tab on a new line)

Bugged output (see beginning end of the middle line)

This causes LibreOffice to freeze beyond the ability to close out, and requires
the use of the kill command to clear up the orphan processes:
Indent a newline with a tab, use CTRL+Backspace to delete. If you attempted to
undo, it appends !!br0ken!! to the document and completely freezes. One can't
use the force close dialog that eventually comes up to quit, I instead have
had to use xkill, but this leaves orphan processes that I had to kill manually.

I am running a recently-installed Linux Mint 17 (Ubuntu version, not Debian
version) on a quad core system with 16 gb of RAM (no issues there). I ran a
full APT upgrade after experiencing the issue and rebooted, but no change.

I tried the sequence a few different time, and it only seems to occur if you're
using CTRL+backspace and the tab you're trying to delete is at the beginning of
a new line.

Bernard: pour information, la description des bugs doit être effectué en
anglais.
Je vais donc traduire.
(for your information, the description of the bug must be in English. So I'm
gonna translate).

Ubuntu system allows to remove a file opened in LO and during saving from file
manager.
Shouldn't the system block such behaviour?

Bernard: do you reproduce this with another application on Ubuntu (est-ce vous
avez le même comportement avec une autre application sur Ubuntu)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71550] Other: Empty backups

2014-06-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71550

--- Comment #6 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
If you only want to save the database-file when the file has just been opened,
try the following macro and link it to Tools → Customize → Open Document:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80072#c1

The macro copies one file of the opened *.odb-file to to the Backup-Folder of
LO. It will copy up to 5 files and then it will delete the oldest file with
copying a new with the same name.

So you will have a backup without copying the file by hand.

Could it be Bug80072 has the same intention as this bug?
