https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68566 --- Comment #19 from MICKRU i...@michael-krueger.org --- Fair enough - I do not understand what the original bug was. It can't be that the bug is that one feels that its unexpected that referenced cells worked as in 4.2.6 which was that sorting was updating references. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84505] Writer: unicode music flat sign displayed as rectangle or exported to PDF as rectangle
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84505 Zhong Qiyao lo...@ms2.url.com.tw changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #6 from Zhong Qiyao lo...@ms2.url.com.tw --- Dear Owen and Tommy, I am using MingLiU, not PMingLiU. When MingLiU sees a mis-placed charecter (see below), PMingLiU and MS Mincho (Japanese) do not seem to. Please open the attachment file used to show the problem. It has the original file (created in 3.6.2 as a new file, but text pasted in using 4.2.1 or 4.3.2), PDF exports, and JPG exported from the PDF (having the same look as the PDF). Because the unicode music flat sign appears the same in all three fonts, font substitution may have been used. Is there a way to find out which font is being used, or which is the proper font to display the character? On LibreOffice 3.6.2, this character has a wider space around it. But 3.6.2 is the most stable version. On LibreOffice 4.2.1 and 4.3.2, the character has a more natural size of space around it, but it may be displayed with two looks, one with a larger loop, and one with a smaller loop. On LibreOffice 4.2.1 and 4.3.2, the problem is the same, but not constent. It does not happen every time, sometimes different places on the same document, sometimes different openings of the same file. Sometimes, the problem disappears if you change the font size (and change back), or rescale the display ratio of the document (and rescale back). So, it may be a problem of the UI rendering engine, which seems to be also used by PDF export. The follow problems may happen, but not every time. 1. Becomes a rectangle (not necessary the bold font). 2. Becomes mis-placed. When this happens, the character has a smaller loop that when it is displayed normally (a different substitution font may have been used). If you copy text from the mis-placed PDF, and paste, then the flat character goes to the end of the line. Thanks. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84785] New: Writer: dot above or dot below, exported to PDF, is a little too high and a little to the left
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84785 Bug ID: 84785 Summary: Writer: dot above or dot below, exported to PDF, is a little too high and a little to the left Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.2.2 release Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lo...@ms2.url.com.tw Version of LibreOffice: 3.6.2 or 4.3.2 Language of Libreoffice: Chinese (traditional) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Language of Operating System: Chinese (traditional) I may have reported previously either in LibreOffice or OpenOffice that for a character with dot above, if exported to PDF, the dot is too far away (hits the underang of letters on the line above it) and a little bit to the left (looks a little misaligned), but I could not find my own previous submission of the problem. Now, actually, both for dot above and dot below, the exported PDF file has the dot a little too high and a little to the left of its original position. That is, those dot above is a little farther, and those dots below are a little nearer, than their original positions. If you set line spacing to 1.5 lines, then the export can be viewed without much problem. 1. Type any letter or digit. 2. Select Format Character Effect Highlight Dot Above or Dot Below. 3. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68566 --- Comment #20 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbfa...@libreoffice.org --- (In reply to Joel Madero from comment #18) This is literally like asking for a bug to be reintroduced into LibreOfficeKohei was nice enough to add an option for users to bring the bug back if they so choose. I disagree. It is _not always_ a bug. The difficulty is to know when in which case it is a bug and in which case it is a feature. That is the reason why a configuration option was necessary. Please try again my test file in bug 81633. I asked the ESC to consider the decision to revert this commit for branches 4.2 and 4.3. Best regards. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80724] FORMATTING: Underline problem with malayalam font
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80724 Sooraj Kenoth soorajken...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|NOTOURBUG |--- --- Comment #7 from Sooraj Kenoth soorajken...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Jay Philips from comment #6) Sorry for the late reply. I was trying to solve this issue from the font developer side. According their arguments, underlining is not a part of glyph. They are simple lines. The designers usually set only guide line or notional markings to define the position and width of underline. The actual decision has to be taken by the document processor or the application which uses the font. I agree with these arguments. Because the shape, size and position of underline is defined by the document and not by the font. The position and size of an underline depend on the settings in the font which mention where the underline must go as well as how thick it should be, so yes the zigzag would be a normally thing if you have the same font but with different font sizes and font formatting (bold, italics, etc). This what I am trying communicate. According to my current knowledge level this is a bug. If you find that libreoffice's font behavior is different from other word processor on linux (calligra words, abiword, etc) or different between libreoffice versions, we would be able to investigate that issue. I didn't check it with other word processors. But I found this as a very common but a serious issue. Also I think libreoffice is much more than a simple word processor. I am from Kerala, India. In our context multilingual document is fairly common. Almost all local language document will contain at least one more language generally it is English, especially while writing abbreviations or technical terms. Some older posts on same issue, https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7t=31726 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68573 https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=89284 For the time being I found a work around for this. But is not a solution. In Libreoffice4.2 there is a feature called character border in character settings. There I can create a border only at bottom position, then it will look like an underline, with adjustable position and size. I just created two styles, one with border at bottom and other without any border. Also set two short-cuts to apply these styles. But this has lot of limitations. I wish the libreoffice team will take forward this issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

When I am searching for some data in table, I don't care in which direction search is going (up or down) - I want to find the data in my spreadsheet. After the searching is done (in BOTH DIRECTION), dialog searching is done could be shown. There is really no need for asking me to start from beginning. It could be a dialog, but there are another ways of informing you. Secondly, speardsheets are not primarly used to make make financial decisions. The bug only happens when working on our large price list and we don't update it that often. However it just happend to me again and I can now provide an mostly anonymized document. Download example document: http://www.file-upload.net/download-9643203/Temp-Bug.zip.html Password is LibOBug To answer your questions: a. Windows 7 x64 SP1 with latest updates + LibreOffice 4.3.2 b. I don't know how to reproduce the problem, however in the document provided the bug has already happened. It seems like when opening a file images where the position is NOT fixed sometimes get stretched. You can find two stretched images in line 135 and 141 in the document. They are stretched vertically and are now the size of two cells. Also on another note: The bounding box which you see when dragging an image is completely off. The file looks correct but if you preview it, print it etc. you will see that the image positions are completely off. Basically the document is ruined. I'm sorry if I can't give a way to reproduce this bug, it happens just too random. Maybe you can work on the document a bit, resize images, remove some lines etc and then save and reopen the document. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45600 --- Comment #29 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- @brendel, *, (In reply to brendel from comment #28) follow up : this is still a problem with LibreOffice 4.3.0.4 running on a Windows seven professional 64 bit : even when a file is opened by doubleclicking (so not from within Libreoffice), it will not appear on the jump list. I just verified this is functioning correctly in Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit en-US with correctly installed current release build Version: 4.3.2.2 Build ID: edfb5295ba211bd31ad47d0bad0118690f76407d We'll assume that your LibreOffice installation went correctly, i.e. Run as Administrator and not done in parallel as an /A administrative install. Have you configured Taskbar and Start Menu properties on the Start Menu tab, checking in the Privacy box one of the display options -- Start Menu, or Start Menu and Taskbar. Also, with the Customize button to open its dialog and checked that Recent items is selected and that at the bottom set the spinner Number of recent items to show in jump lists? Then, for the Start Menu launchers for LibreOffice, have you pinned them to the Start Menu (the jump list will be the right pointing triangle) or to the Taskbar (where the jump list will be the popup context menu listing). Finally, rework for the Jump lists was done under bug 35785. This issue was closed as a duplicate of that bug. Please review its specifics of configuration and function of the Jump lists. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80960 --- Comment #17 from Olibuntu olibu...@arcor.de --- (In reply to Jan Holesovsky from comment #3) For the record, the last cursor position is stored in config:config-item config:name=ViewLeft config:config-item config:name=ViewTop in settings.xml. I saved a document in 4.3 and opened it with 4.2: the cursor was at the top although I saved it with a different cursor position. Then I moved the cursor somewhere else and saved the document in 4.2. After reopening the document in 4.2 the cursor was correctly at the stored position. Afterwards I compared the two instances of settings.xml and realized the following: In 4.2 the config items ViewLeft etc. were of type int, whereas in 4.3 they were of type long. (More precisely, all items of type int in 4.2 were of type long in 4.3.) Then, for the hack of it, I replaced all occurences of int with long and 4.2 opened the document at the right cursor position saved by 4.3 (although the display of pages was a bit bizarre). Reason: in former version LibO uses german translated field names - and all mail-merge fields are now fixed to these names. the actual version now uses englisch field-names - so merging is not possible. I added an aktual sceenshot witch may explain the differenz. So the question is: What was changed? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
