[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85646] LibreOffice Writer crashes 10 times per minute and from debug logs looks like Python initialization problem
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85646 --- Comment #5 from grofaty grof...@hotmail.com --- I have made a test marathon and downloaded several old versions from subdirectory: http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ to figure it out in which version this crash started to appear. In bellow tests I always uninstalled LibreOffice, manually clean install leftovers from C:\Programs\LibreOffice4 (my install dir), delete profile (so having clean profile): 1. LibreOffice 4.3.1.2: Python crash. 2. LibreOffice 4.3.0.4: Python crash. 3. LibreOffice 4.3.0.2: Python crash. 4. LibreOffice 4.3.0.1: Python crash. 5. LibreOffice 4.3.0.0.beta2: Works fine. 6. LibreOffice 4.3.0.0.beta1: Works fine. It looks like LibreOffice was working fine in 4.3.0.0.beta2 and the crash introduced was in LibreOffice 4.3.0.1. In LibreOffice 4.3.0.1 (the first version crashing) I started LibreOffice Writer and starting a debug with WinDbg. Move cursor to LibreOffice and press letter d and Python crash appeared. This is the record pressing only one key and crash. Additional info, in debug I can see there are also! exceptions in 4.3.0.0.beta1, 4.3.0.0.beta2 and also in previous release 4.2.7.2, but LibreOffice does not crashes. Exception are like for example: (b78.a98): C++ EH exception - code e06d7363 (first chance) appears in debug every time I press any key, I only pressed English letters. I am attaching: - LibreOffice 4.3.0.0.beta2 with exceptions, but still no crash. - LibreOffice 4.3.0.1 with Python crash error. Hope this helps debugging the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I tried this solution to generate a sort of clickable index in a large spreadsheet. If the alignment is left, the index works fine, each link is connected to its area. If the alignment is center or right, all the links in the cell result identical to the first one. This happens both using manual formatting or cell styles. The problem seems to be easily reproducible. I attach an example document. Note that OpenOffice has the same problem and MS Office don’t allow multiple links in a single cell. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85478] Libreoffice 4.3.3.2 RC systematically segfaults on closing application
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85478 --- Comment #7 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com --- Strange, because every single machine I have now seems to show the issue. As a matter of fact, it is most likely related to the initial launcher. I am in fact noticing that in some cases it is enough to start libreoffice, see the laucher screen with the small document thumbnails and close libreoffice without doing anything else to see the crash. Then, if I erase all the documents in the launcher, I do not see the crash in this way. Are you sure you have languagetool installed? If I disable languagetool 2.7 I do not see the crash. In any case, it really looks like the problem is confined to the laucher. My only wish would be to be able to disable the laucher to avoid filling my home with crash reports and most important to avoid the ubuntu crash report tool firing up all the time. Let me try to recap how I systematically see the issue: 1) Install languagetool I suspect it has nothing to do with the issue, but by causing java to load early it may trigger it. 2) start libreoffice with libreoffice watermark.odt and immediately exit it. This is in order to put the demo file in the launcher screen. At the exit there should be no issue. 3) start libreoffice with libreoffice in order to open the launcher 4) click on the watermark document thumbnail to open it 5) close libreoffice see the crash. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66540 --- Comment #9 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com --- So - really no idea what's going on; I believe sysinternals has a file monitor app - if the problem goes via files we can use that to get a handle on what is going on there (perhaps). Beyond that - you could attach windbg and try to reproduce the problem, and break inside LibreOffice when its consuming time and get a stack trace or two. I assume that we see a chunk of CPU time coming from a soffice.bin process while the hanging is going on ? [ or is it all inside outlook? ]. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85614 Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #21 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com --- Luke. When I asked for a new bug - you re-titled the existing one. You also continued to use extraordinarily inflamatory: THE FACTS: shouting assertions of your view point which is (clearly) not shared by many others. This sort of behavior leads to extraordinarily irritating developers. That in turn leads to de-prioritising your request; do you actually want an accelerated release of 4.3.next ? I assume you do. I considered actually filing a new bug - but really our release process is not tracked in bugzilla; so lets close this guy, and I'll add it to the ESC agenda. Cloph - any chance you can look at making some pre 4.3.4 builds speculatively - preferably with just this revert in them. Luke - I still have -no- answer however, on whether this bug is truly fixed; and doing endless (extremely expensive) rounds of releasing without an answer there would be extremely lame. I spent the weekend testing 4.2.8, and it doesn't fix anything as it defaults to the new behavior and introduces even more sorting bugs. Um - this data point is pretty useless to me; what is 4.2.8 ? what git hash were you testing ? did it include Andras' back-port etc. ? We -badly- need to get some hard data on this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I noticed that from a distance ;) (In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #0) I suggest that F11 will go to the previous pane of the side bar. Sounds like an interesting idea, but what about when the previous state of the sidebar was hidden, should the sidebar return to its previous state or go to the previous pane. Ah good question. That will allow to make the choice - for those not working with styles - at the very moment that they set the bullet/number. Yes i had suggested toolbar drop downs in my toolbar proposal (attachment 103175), though i also suggested merging the two together. :) (In reply to Maxim Monastirsky from comment #2) Hi Jay, Hi Maxim, I would agree here with Cor. Why not simply port the sidebar popup to the toolbar? (And adding this to the context menu has a downside, that you can't put a preview there, and a title like Diamond is not enough because you can't know how this diamond actually looks.) Yes porting the sidebar popups would make it less important to be in the context menu, as that is what is found in most office suites (MS, WPS, WordPerfect, Google Docs, Calligra). (Of course we could always add small icons to the submenu entries to show how they look :D) So i'm closing this and have opened bug 85804. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85807 Bug ID: 85807 Summary: Remove merged cell restriction on sorting Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: than...@earthlink.net Created attachment 108841 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108841action=edit Sample document. Simple sample attached. Select A1:B3, then attempt to sort by column A descending. If you have the Include formats sort option selected, you get the message Ranges containing merged cells can only be sorted without formats. If you uncheck Include formats in the search options, the sort completes, but the bold status of A3 stays in A3 instead of following the value to A1 as it should in any sane sorting scenario. There is no logical reason for sorting with formats to not work simply because there are some merged cells involved. If there are some arcane edge cases that cause bad results, then simply throw up an (optional) warning to that effect. Don't block the sort. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81264] Calc is not accessible to screen readers if sheet is modified [a11y]
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81264 --- Comment #20 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- David, *, (In reply to David Goldfield from comment #19) However, at that point if I press ctrl-alt-N to exit and restart NVDA and place focus back into the Calc spreadsheet, cell coordinates and data within the cell speak reliably. Does that information provide any help? Thanks helpful. On Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit en-US with NVDA 2014.2 and a current 4.4.0.0alpha1+ build of master. Not sure why but the ctrlalt+N cycling NVDA correctly establishes the rendering of IAccessible2 content. If NVDA is running when LibreOffice is launched the Calc sheet content is not reliably gaining focus, although all the menus and toolbars seem to have no trouble. Are we assigning an incorrect role to the sheet (a drawing layer) and its cells? Once we gain focus of the sheet, all seems correct. The relaunch of NVDA seems to do it most efficiently, more so that the F2 and esc I'd been using. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
