[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86408] In Persian, it's impossible to see the full characters vertically, no easy right-to-left line order, and bugs in bilingual lines

(In reply to Urmas from comment #8)
Do you have 'Options/Language Settings/Languages - Complex text layout'
 checkbox set?

Thank you, No, it wasn't set (it is now) and CTRL-SHFT-A/D works, and the icons
are in the toolbars (after restarting the Writer of course).

So, the only thing not resolved yet (if I remember correctly) is (3):
In bilingual lines, the line becomes LTR immediately after typing the first
western charcter.

Thanks again Urmas

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87260] New: StaticLibrary libglxtest compilation problem

2014-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87260

Bug ID: 87260
   Summary: StaticLibrary libglxtest compilation problem
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ktamat...@dataways.gr

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to build libreoffice sources from the following wiki:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnLinux

My system is a debian jessie 32 bit and my configure is this:
./autogen.sh --with-system-libs --enable-mergelibs --without-x --without-java
--without-junit --disable-gconf --without-doxygen --disable-postgresql-sdbc
--without-boost-date-time --without-boost-iostreams --disable-firebird-sdbc
--disable-orcus --disable-lpsolve

All dependencies are ok and compilation starts until it breaks at this point:

libreoffice/solenv/gbuild/LinkTarget.mk:522: *** used LinkTarget
StaticLibrary/libglxtest.a not defined. Stop.

I hope you can help me.
Kind Regards, Kostas.

To bypass this bug comment into

the line
X-KDE-Protocols=

I have no idea if this could open furhter limitations or not.
This is a WORKAROUND to open files shared with smb protocol on linux platform.

What do you mean under testcase? List of steps how to create such file with
  bug?
Yup. More simple the steps to repro bug, more easy for dev to identify
 problem fix the bug.

Another dependency! Steps to reproduce:
1) Create xls file
2) Insert formula (X^2 for example)
3) Save it
4) Open again and try to close - you will be asked if you want to save changes

I agree with Ivan.

IMHO the .rtf format really sucks, however it is still very used in many
countries (not only Russia but also Italy) and bad interoperability can prevent
LibO diffusion.

I added this bug and it's fellow bugs to Bug 81234 - [META] RTF filter issues
 to give them more visibility

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71437] Dead keys not working

2014-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71437

--- Comment #15 from Josef josef.dalco...@gmx.net ---
Just tested with the new backport update (from today) for kubuntu, e.g.
LibreOffice 4.2.7.2 buildID 420m0(Build:2)

The problem is still there, though pay attention that typing with dead keys
works initially, but stops working after a couple of minutes. I am using a
US-international keyboard and try typing German umlauts with it.

It seems that it shifts to a different keyboard layout after a minute or two.
It is still possible to type the Umlauts, but they are now accessible with the
AltGr key and are located near (not on) the corresponding a,o,u keys.

I am amazed to get a backport update without this fixed. After all, if you need
to type German (or many other languages) with a US keyboard you probably want
to use the US international layout and LibreOffice is pretty much useless if
this does not work.

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to build libreoffice-4.3.4.1 sources. My system is a debian jessie

All dependencies are ok and compilation starts until it breaks at this point:

--- Comment #2 from Robinson Tryon (qubit) qu...@runcibility.com ---
(In reply to Urmas from comment #0)
When exporting in Word 97/2003 format, the result file has the FibBase::nFib
field set to 0x101. According to spec, the maximum value for this field is
0xC1. The following versions should be stored in FibRgCswNew struct (absent
 in LO file).

Word binary format spec:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc313153.aspx
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/4/8/24862317-78F0-4C4B-B355-C7B2C1D997DB/%5BMS-DOC%5D.pdf

According to Section 2.5.1 Fib (pp 50, 51):

The Fib structure contains information about the document and specifies the
file pointers to various portions that make up the document.

It goes on to mention cbRgFcLcb (2 bytes): An unsigned integer that specifies
the count of 64-bit values corresponding to fibRgFcLcbBlo and give a table
that includes the following rows:

  Value of nFib cbRgFcLcb
  0x00C1 0x005D
  ...
  0x0101 0x0088
  0x010C 0x00A4
  ...

From the table, it appears that nFib can be 0x101, as well as an even larger
value. Of course, this is all based on my quick read of the spec.

Urmas: Where did you read that the max value of nFib is 0xC1?

The new 4.2.7 version also shows ths misbehaviour. So the last LO version

 Correcting Uwe's observation:

 4.2.8: working

So I see a couple possibilities here:
1) Uwe is in error and 4.2.7 is working properly

3) Inconsistency of repro steps

There's a bug that allows to overrride the 0.07mm limit sometimes but not

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87266] New: FILEOPEN: CSV (Text Import) data type Text incorectly guessed as Numerical (Standard) while data begins with zero

2014-12-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87266

Bug ID: 87266
Summary: FILEOPEN: CSV (Text Import) data type Text incorectly
guessed as Numerical (Standard) while data begins with
zero
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.4.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jackvig...@yahoo.com

When opening a .csv file (FILEOPEN: CSV)
the Text Import tool launches (in background... see bug ID 73751 not resolved)
every column has a data type, the standard type makes th program guess the type
(theorical reminder)
when the type is text a database primary key may begin whith zero (i.e. 01234
is a text, 12345 is numeral), but the data type Text is incorectly guessed as
Numerical by the Standard methid. Therefore the zeros are truncated (01234 →
1234) and if user saves the file, data is altered.
This column should be recognised as a Text data type.

Note that this bug is unherited from the original Excell, maybe because primary
keys can't begin with a zero in the USA... However they do begin in with a zero
around here in Europe at gouvernemental agencies, this is serious.

Thank you.

Sample dataset (.csv EOF=End of file):

pk;city;zipcode;name;
01001;L ABERGEMENT CLEMENCIAT;01400;L'Abergement-Clémenciat;
EOF

this was fixed in 4.1.2 by this commit:

fdo#67930 work around fdo#68024

don't emit string-value attribute

but master towards 4.2 has a different commit:

commit fc92c1abebcfe9b18649d35b76bf22e001e332da
Author: Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu
AuthorDate: Mon Aug 12 18:41:44 2013 +0200

fdo#67930 don't use variables for formattedtext in header/footer

I don't know why it was going through variables.
Instead, put the value where it is supposed to,
like for formattedtext in detail section.
Try it, and if something breaks, we can revert.

This also works around fdo#67930

... apparently that one had some unintended side effects leaving
this scenario unfixed.

--- Comment #8 from Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com ---
sigh... retyping comment since bugzilla ate it...

that we import the field for value-type=float or value-type=void
sounds like a bug to me.

ODF 1.2 19.385 office:value-type is quite clear that the value
from office:string-value takes precedence over the element content.

the value of the table cell would include any fields or other
formatting in the element text, which obviously can't be
encoded in an XML attribute.

so from that it doesn't make sense to add an office:value-type
attribute on a cell that has content that isn't just plain text.

another point of view would be that the ODF spec has a bug here
and that office:string-value should not take precedence over the
element content.

office:value-type=string already differs from the other types
in that for the other types the *-value attribute is mandatory and
the element content is merely a preview text rendering for dumb
consumers with some particular # of digits etc.,
which is not a concern if the type is string.

--- Comment #4 from tmacalp tmac...@gmail.com ---
I'm updating the description, since this bug isn't limited to Changing
paragraph spacing (above/below), but applies to any setting used in the
format-paragraph dialog. Also, it doesn't require the whole table to
trigger, just as long as your selection passes a repeated heading row. As soon
as you open the paragraph dialog, your selection is lost and you'll notice your
selection has been limited to the contents of the first cell in your original
range. In the original description, this happened to be the header row.

I have bibisected:

@Jesper,

You've done as much as can be done. As Adolfo and MM say, notifying Avast of
the false positive is the quickest way for this to be resolved.

Using Bugzilla functions, and for a bit more hand holding the project maintains
a Bug Submission Assistant, but at the moment that is out of service. None the
less, thanks for reporting--you did fine and it was seen by the correct folks.

(In reply to Urmas from comment #3)
 From 2.5.2:

nFib (2 bytes): An unsigned integer that specifies the version number of the
 file format used.

Footnote #12 sounds like they made the application and documents first, and the
spec 2nd:
12 Section 2.5.2: A special empty document is installed with Word 97, Word
2000, Word 2002, and Office Word 2003 to allow Create New Word Document from
the operating system. This document has an nFib of 0x00C0. In addition the BiDi
build of Word 97 differentiates its documents by saving 0x00C2 as the nFib. In
both cases treat them as if they were 0x00C1.

*shakes head*

Superseded by FibRgCswNew.nFibNew if it is present. This
 value SHOULD be 0x00C1.

Anyhow, I agree with Urmas' read of the spec here.

Status - NEW

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72486] EDITING, TABLES: Edit Select All directly selects the entire document on a document beginning with a table

--- Comment #7 from tmacalp tmac...@gmail.com ---
I don't know why this bug was marked with a severity of enhancement, but I've
set it to major because it's an obvious regression and they warrant higher
severity. It is also much more annoying than the comments here seem to
indicate.

If you trigger this bug, your selection will expand to the table plus all of
the content below it. This makes it impossible to apply any table properties
from the table dialog. It will simply ignore you. You might wonder why you
are unable to set border thickness, background color, etc...

Also, attempting to set any paragraph styles will only apply the styles to the
non-table selected content below.

Even worse, if this bug is triggered, it ruins select-all from any frame/table
in that document. Trying to select-all on content in the frame/table will
select everything outside of the frame/table.

This is really quite an annoying bug and is something that I'm sure people run
into all of the time.

I bibisected:

Thank you Alex for your work on bug 81759!

I am using: LO Version: 4.3.4.1
Build-ID: bc356b2f991740509f321d70e4512a6a54c5f243
and

OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1

I have no success using dictation as so far.

As Uwe lastly reported dictation works with the same OS X 10.1 and LO 4.2
series on the iMac of my wife. Therefor she is still using LO 4.2.7

sincerely Detlef

For the test, could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Mac_OS_X) and give it a new
try?
