[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83282] Linux version of LibreOffice locks open documents in a way incompatible with MS Word running on Wine

For a .doc file opened by Word 2013 on real Windows through samba (version 2:3.6.6-6+deb7u5), it shows me this: write lock start 2147483539 len 1 write lock start 2147483559 len 1 write lock start 2147483599 len 1 For a .doc file opened locally in Libreoffice writer, it shows this: write lock start 0 len 0 This is roughly what I expected. For completeness, I also tried the 'flock' command, and it succeeded in taking an exclusive lock in both cases. I still have to do a test opening the same file with both, which requires setting up NFS to the server running samba. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74693] PRINTING: Footnotes text appearing above footnote separator line
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74693 --- Comment #13 from pub...@hunstig.net --- I agree that this is an error and hope that it will be fixed some time. It cost me quite a lot of time and nerves to get a 450 pages document with around 2400 footnotes into a correct PDF. The problem seems to be related to Postscript output - it appears in exported PDFs as well as in Postscript files generated via print to file. The workaround using letter spacing worked in some cases, but also often produced ugly text. My preferred workaroung was to add empty lines where LO added empty space between text and footnote separator line. This seems to give LO less freedom to shift footnotes around and thus avoids the jumping separator line. Actually, I have seen to different forms of what seems to be the same problem: a) footnote separator line remains where it should be, but the page below this line is empty b) footnote separator line jumps down a bit (or footnotes jump up?) so that the line runs through the footnote -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88371] Proposal for Expanding Headers in Navigator with Double-Clicks
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88371 --- Comment #5 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Sorry, I'm kind of missing why these widgets are even coded with double mouse click selection/action? Seems like a single mouse click to select, and a second single mouse click to perform the action would be more consistent with keyboard navigation and selection actions. Also, presently single mouse click on the plus icon widget expands/closes the listing. Keyboard navigation follows F10, F6 and all cursor movments, and selection is with Enter. Expand/Close is with cursor R or L respectively. That aside, other than using the double mouse click for selection/action, as Harold reports the only thing that seems amiss is the double mouse click opening/closing the lists. We could fix that, of just replace the double mouse click selection/action with two discrete single mouse clicks. At least we do have the same behavior in F5 dialog, or in the Sidebar implementation of Navigator. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89714] Orphan and widow control should be on by default
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89714 --- Comment #7 from rbruen...@spectruma.de --- Not sure which gets priority when both are checked active, but they don't seem to conflict. I'd agree with change that both Orphan and Widow text flow should be checked on by default. Fine that we agree on this aspect. I do not believe that both settings interact in a non-predictable way. In the past 10 or more years, I never noticed any problems having both checked so I presume that the code is already working properly. It is probably best to view both features as algorithms to alter the position of the page break within a paragraph. And they both work in the same way: move an additional line (in the case of n = 2) to the next page when the respective constraint is violated. There is only one case where they both perform changes: a paragraph covering 3 lines and the need to put a page break within the paragraph (orphan-lines + widow-lines - 1 as a general formula) This causes either 2 lines on the first, and 1 line on the second page or vice versa. However, both cases resolve cleanly: 2 + 1 case: a) widow rule applies moving one line to the new page b) then, orphan rule kicks in moving the first line to the new page as well 1 + 2 case: orphan rule applies moving the first line to the next page. Result is the same: the entire 3-line paragraph is completely moved to the next page instead of leaving either an orphan or a widow. What I tested : - LibreOffice 4.4.1.2 and 4.3.5.2 on Windows 7 - tested with different master documents of one page - tested with two .ods sheets coming from different documents - mailing is done by selecting a database with Edit-Switch Database, then inserting fieds from the data source (F4), and then merging with Mailing assistant Please let me know if I can provide more informations, YvanM -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Place any text object in it, in the first or any subsequent page Now start the slideshow from any page: text instead in the age you're starting with is NOT SHOWN AT ALL. Text in the following slides is shown correctly. If you start with a slide, then move to the second one, then go back to the first, text in the first slide, which did not show at the beginning, is now visible. I have tried a lot of fonts, stiles, colors etc. but the problem is always there. This is a regression which has an easy workaround (start from a slide, then very rapidly go the the 2nd and back to the first before beginning your presentation); however if you're not aware of it you can easily panic in public presentation situations where it could be very annoying. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89783 Bug ID: 89783 Summary: sal_uint16 counters for containers exceed during mailmerge Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: chrl...@googlemail.com Created attachment 113828 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113828action=edit main document containing 32 frames Lot of containers for elements in writer are internally managed by SwVectorModifyBase class which has an old method 102 sal_uInt16 GetPos(Value const p) const 103 { 104 const_iterator const it = std::find(begin(), end(), p); 105 return it == end() ? USHRT_MAX : it - begin(); 106 } see http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/inc/docary.hxx#102 This means: In all concrete element container implementations/managers using this methods, only 65536 elements can be managed in a safe way. Adding more elements than 65536 may cause LibreOffice to do undefined things (in the conrete scenario it freezes). This limit can easily exceed in particular during mail merge. I attached some example documents that can be used as main documents for mail merge and a datasource with 2048 datasets. They contain just 32 elements of one type and can't be processed by mail merge with more than 2048 datasets (32*2048 = 65336 -- 16bit limit) In my tests the following elements were causing troubles (and maybe others, too): - main document with 32 sections - main document with 32 text frames - main document with 32 lists - main document with 32 different header definitions (=page styles) - main document with 32 tables The 16bit limit needs to be eliminated. The container behind SwVectorModifyBase is already a std::vector (which has no 16 bit limitation), but the old Method GetPos is referred from many places of the code (700 hits for git grep GetPos) How to reproduce the issue: 1) open one of the attached 32xxx.odt files 2) use tools-mail merge wizard 3) select 2051datasets.ods as datasource (in step 3 of the wizard) 4) run step 7 of the wizard (personalize document) -- in most cases LO freezes after 2048 datasets -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
