This could work if I whould create the document.
But in my case, I receive documents already created by others using Microsoft
Excel Office.
These excel documents have hundreds of links and I get updated documents every
week.
I thank you for geting envolved in this issue!

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89907

Bug ID: 89907
Summary: Text to columns only affects first line when width is
auto set
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.6.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oli...@redhat.com

Created attachment 113992
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113992action=edit
test_file

Text to columns only affects first line when width is auto set (double click in
between 2 cell headers)

to reproduce :
1. open the attached LO file
2. mark the column A by clicking on A
3. double click between column A and B to set the size of column A to match the
longest line
4. click Data Text to columns

You can see only the first line is considered, however LO still shows the whole
column marked.

If you do not do step 3, the whole column is considered as it should be.

--- Comment #3 from Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com ---
Tricky.. actually IF(range0;range) in array context produces an array of
logical values, with the special case here the FALSE-path being omitted. Asking
only for ScMatrix::IsString() in ScInterpreter::GetNumberSequenceArray() is
wrong as it doesn't catch the empty cell / empty path conditions. This seems to
be a regression of 104a1e641554be2e789758ae67c0e24620df8035 in master and
b9088afc9f4f93548c668d81dd55e9bb63f91d80 in 4-4, which introduced a special
handling for the string case to fix bug 88547 that should not be triggered in
this case.

@Winfried: thinking on this further, I reckon the change was wrong and should
be reverted, sorry for accepting it first hand ;-) The way how
GetNumberSequenceArray() is used (and was implemented) it indeed should ignore
all string and empty values like all spreadsheet functions do that expect a
number sequence as parameter. Actually this may spoil all sorts of things.. Bug
88547 needs to be fixed differently. I'll revert the corresponding changes and
reopen that bug.

I believe that palettes are search for in just user/config and that on first
start the shared ones are copied there.

We should

a) not copy them at first-start, but only on first-modify
b) search the shared and user location for palettes, with user overriding
shared

that will allow an admin to add a new palette system-wide to libreoffice and
everyone will then see it without any manual config work

In Impress, if a slide contains a comment, it is shown only as a mini-yellow
box in upper left corner (moveable but not resizeable?), and it is easily
overlooked.

Besides keyboard shortcuts for Next/Previous comments, it would be nice to have
either (or both):
1. Option for Expand/Collapse all comments, so they are shown in full size
(either in LO options, or in context menu of comment boxes).
2. List of comments in Navigator, similar to Writer.

commit c91bfb9ac7d110c5dca0ea34ec0e1668a985b34c
Author: Ashod Nakashian ashodnakash...@yahoo.com
Date: Mon Feb 23 22:33:27 2015 -0500

Fix crash while scaling large bitmaps.

Fast bitmap scaling overflowed the LUT used by the nearest-neighbor
algorithm.
When a bitmap has 46k pixel on a side and is enlarged, the scaling code
overflows the 32-bit long, resulting in negative indexes, which then
segfaults.

This isn't as rare as it sounds. At least in web-view in writer the
border/shadow
bitmap is as long as the document (which is an issue in its own right,)
which can overflow for large documents during scaling and segfault.

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89902

--- Comment #3 from Jacobo Aragunde Pérez jaragu...@igalia.com ---
(In reply to Tomaz Vajngerl from comment #2)
It is not so simple because background color can also be gradient, hatching
or bitmap. So we need to upgrade the color picker to handle all those too
 before we can exchange.

The solution chosen for the sidebar is using the new color picker when color
is selected in the fill type combo, and using the old pickers for the other
cases (gradient, hatching, etc.).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89908] New: Include Search field in the autofilter options

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89908

Bug ID: 89908
Summary: Include Search field in the autofilter options
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: marcosti...@gmail.com

This is in some way related to Bug ID 47412 (which appears a solved but is
not):

When applying auto-filter to a column there is no search field that
automatically narrows down the search (feature included in Excel since Office
2010).

Example: Let's assume in an inconsistently named list a have to search for the
model Golf. The possible results might be:

VW Golf GTI
Volkswagen Golf 1.9 TDI
Golf GTI
Vlkswagen Golf Diesel

A week later I find out that I missed V-Wagen Golf GTI

Imagine this list is hundreds of rows long, consisting in different car brands
and models. I'd have to search the whole list for any individual entry that
potentially includes the word Golf with the result of wasting an enormous
amount of time and the risk of missing one of them.
It might look like a small enhacement but for people dealing with larger list
needing to easily filter for a given content it is an absolute stopper for
using/switching from Excel to Calc.

Anyway, thanks for your time and effort and keep up with the good work.

There are still some old color choosers in some less used places of the UI. One
of these is the Drawing Object Properties toolbar. For more info, see: bug
45671.

How to get to see it:
* Open Writer.
* Add a shape with the Drawing toolbar or with the Basic shapes button.

Result: Drawing Object Properties toolbar appears on top, below the Standard
toolbar.
* In that toolbar there are two color selectors, one for the line color and the
other one for the background color. The latter still uses the old format.

You can see how this UI element should be in the in the properties sidebar,
where it's been already updated.

--- Comment #7 from Dennis Van Dusen dvde...@gmail.com ---
I tested the behavior in both .docx and odt.

The pattern is clearer:

open doc
open second window (window/new window cmd)
scroll both down to different pages
in second window, select and copy a row
paste the row into the first window.

(good so far)
NOW,
paste the row into a different page in the second window --- and first window
will scroll to that page.

I did it consistently 4 times in both formats.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89910] New: spellchecker works for one user not another

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89910

Bug ID: 89910
Summary: spellchecker works for one user not another
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.1.2 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: simonmarsh...@hotmail.co.uk

As a user with Windows 7 administrative privileges, I uninstalled an earlier
version of LO and installed LO-4.4.1.2. When I installed LO-4.4.1.2, I had
checked which dictionaries were installed, and various English, French and
Spanish dictionaries were selected.

For one non-admin user, the Writer spell checker works fine.

However, for another non-admin user, the spell checker does not work.

I've googled around and searched on ask.libreoffice.org and also here, tried a
few things such as wiping AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice for both non-admin users,
but without success.

I've tried to discover what the differences are between the 2 non-admin users.
In both cases:
- Tools Automatic Spell Checking (S-F7) is enabled
- Tools Language For Selection... is English (UK)
- Tools Language For Paragraph... has nothing set
- Tools Language For all Text... has nothing set
I've tried playing around with these settings, but, try as I might, I cannot
set anything for For Paragraph or For all Text for either non-admin user.
I presume these are set correctly.

The only difference I have found, is that for the user with a working spell
checker, when I do Spelling and Grammar (F7), the Text Language is a
drop-down list of various English, French and Spanish dictionaries as I would
expect. However, for the user with a non-working spell checker, the Text
Language drop-down menu is greyed out and inoperable.

This difference is not apparent when I do Tools Options Language Settings
Languages. For both users, the Default Languages for Documents Western menu
is a drop-down list of various English, French and Spanish dictionaries.

So, the bug _appears_ to be that not all users have visibility of the installed
dictionaries within Writer, even though they have visibility within the Options
settings.

I've attached snippets of Spelling and Grammar (F7) and Language Settings
popups for both non-admin users.

Please let me know how I can help with this bug.

That is because the entries for currencies without locales provide only the ISO
4217 currency codes. Note also the difference in the format codes. Also, only
the currencies' number of decimals is presented, no truncated formats. These
formats are commonly used for accounting and currency exchange purposes. You
get the same when selecting a locale's currency, but without cluttering the
list with further locale dependent formats that use the currency symbol.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89908] Include Search field in the autofilter options

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89908

Hi Cor,

now that was a quick reply!
You are only partly right. Actually, what this search field does in Excel is
apply a standard filter with the condition Contains. I agree that your
suggestion would be a way to narrow down a search but there are disadvantages:

It's much slower. Instead of just writing the element you need you have to:

a)click on standard filter b)click on condition c) select the condition d)
insert the word/letters d) click ok

Then, if you're not happy with the result you need to start again. What makes
this feature in Excel so powerful is that you have a direct feedback and can
adapt your search on the fly due to the autocomplete feature.

Let me give another example: In a list dealing with thousands of entries
related to printer models (7600, 7500, 4600, 6600, 5600) I'd like to filter for
those rows related to the 7600. Among others, model references are

HPI 7600
7600
Indigo 7x00/6
HP Indigo 7x00
Indigo 7600

In this case I'd quickly see that by typing 7600 I wouldn't get all the results
I need, so I'd start just typing 7. This would then also give me the results
for the 7500 but I'd maybe able to manually select the results I need.
The bottomline is: There are lots of situations in which you either are not
100% sure about what is the best search item and you need to test it, or you do
know it and want to quickly de-select those few that you don't need. In both
cases I consider the standard filter option far too slow.

Having said this, you can't image how this little feature has changed the way
for me and my colleagues to manage large lists...

Thanks for your feedback

Marcos

(In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #1)

Have you considered that when you click Standard filter,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72337] Other: Unable to open document on a network share

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72337

--- Comment #31 from AntonioGM cor...@antoniogm.com ---
Hello Norbert,

Qll the tests that led me to the right commit has been done on the same
computer and SMB/CIFS server described on comment 6. I don't recall to have
reported a broken LibO installation.

However, as I was not sure whether the problem is on LO or on my system, I
repeated the test with another computer (Windows 7), another CIFS server
(Windows Server) and/or another software (MS Office) to learn that the the
issue only happens on some CIFS servers and only on some LO versions (I have
never stated any issue on Windows servers).

So in order to guess which commit could be causing this, I repeated the FIRST
test (the one which worked with LO 3.6 and stopped after upgrading to LO 4.3.5)
with portable versions to guess the exact release where the problem appears.
After all tests, I can confirm that the issue started on 4.1.4.1 and didn't
dissapeared until the compilation made by Joel.

On the other side, I have never seen any Document in use neither broken
file error messages, so we are talking about completely different things. The
fact that a commit works fine for you doesn't mean that will work for everyone
else. I know that this doesn't happen on all Samba server, but if I'm
experiencing on my DSL Router, this could be happening to others users too as
this router is quite popular on Spain and France.

My worries is that probably the right solution won't be just reverting this
commit as it solved an issue to others too, so it could require a more complex
solution.

Hello,
This is a big problem when you recieve documents from customers who are not
familiar with PGP transfert.
The same problem was solved for docx documents (in this case the problem seems
due to a long password (too long ? ) more than 8 characters.

Thank you for you job.
Congratulations,
Alain.

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 89911
Summary: libreoffice freezing after Ctrl+C filename in Save-as

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)

Status: UNCONFIRMED

sometimes i use the same naming for directory and file, when saving a document
in libreoffice.
so, when first time saving a document, i type the new name into the file name
field in the Save as Mask.

Then, i copy these letters to the clipboard with Ctrl+C (to paste it later in
the new-to-create directory with the same name).

Beginning with this moment, libreoffice freezes frequently.
Not only during the saving process, but also while editing the new document and
other instances of libreoffice.
restarting LO does NOT help.
restarting the computer does.

--- Comment #12 from Dennis Van Dusen dvde...@gmail.com ---
good questions

The problem is pretty intense.

I found that when I was importing a table from word (fyi, word has this
interesting bug that others don't seem to know about, except that MS has told
me that it has been around for a long time and nobody thinks it is a priority
since it is not a highly used feature on the mac. the problem is that when you
are editing a table with a lot of cuts and pastes, the hotkey for 'copy'
changes to the function of paste - and you cannot change it back without
restarting word.).

So, take it over to the thing that works -- Libre.

Except, when you get it there, the CPU jumps to 100% or so (mac i5 dual, with
16g memory)

When this happened before, I always wondered if it was me or Libre, or word,
and I could easily try it in word 2010 on Parallels. This time I got more
frustrated because I had to merge tables and WORD refused to allow it. Libre
seemed to allow a better result by converting to tab and back.

So, I opened one window and seemed to get there, but there were some hickups.
Being frustrated with the work itself, I started to evaluate. The cpu took off,
but there were also 'recent hangs' happening, and there were so many context
changes. I looked at memory - and stripped down the running processors, and
checked the drive, and loaded the file into pages and word 2010, and 2003, and
it was not apparently corrupted.

So, I upgraded Libre - and got a worse result - the hangs were more obvious and
there was no recovery after some waiting - for quiescence.

So, next step was to check ODT file - I needed to do that to get the table
operation to work - at least I thought so. Got the conversion done, so I could
move it back to WORD 2011.

Ouch - nearly immediately the word bug showed up. (I reported it 4 years ago,
and MS gave me a refund because they KNEW it was a bug!- they didn't even
hesitate).

So, I had to go back to Libre to protect my brain.

Now, I needed to have 2 windows open on the doc. I had converted back to
.docx, and believed that your internal structure and code would be common
between the file types, but that might be wrong. I opened the second window -
and went into an 'active' hang state - I just got the beachball, and could not
get any menu commands to work -

I stripped apps out of the processor, and nothing changed in Libre
(4.4.1.2)/.docx) (memory taken - virtual 3.21G, real 259M)

I found that if I force-quit, then opened Libre and did not recover the file
(tried it both ways 3 or 4 times each - either recover or trash the recovery
file and open blank))

In each case, if I opened with the recovery, it was back to 100%.
If I opened clean, Libre would 'usually' come up and quiesce to 4% CPU or so.

In a few cases, I would get a 'Libre Crashed' stack/system info window, and had
to 'REOPEN'. That would ALWAYS bring up a clean empty instance unless I was
stupid enough to recover and walk back into the disaster.

So, there were times when it would NOT give me the system info/trace window.
Then it sometimes opened and crashed, and then the above would occur or it
would start clean all by itself (I would have to invoke it of course).

So, then I decided to go back to 4.3.6.2. Seemed to be 'slightly better' - did
not seem to fail right away. I soon found out that it was the same.

Now, please understand that I was getting productive for about 15 hours out of
24 that I was using it. This was all spurious for a long time. (all within this
past weekend).

Then it locked up. Then I got irritated because pages would not work, word
failed, and libre locked up. Time to get into this deeper. Created a new
instance in Parallels with Word 2015. Saw that it was really no different from
word 2011 and too slow. Gave up before I ran into the old bug, but still
curious.

I tried to use one window - it would work, but I could not get anywhere fast (
had to scroll up and down 80 pages).

Then I found that 2 windows would work again, but nailed down two bugs (one not
yet reported, the other confirmed now - involving cut and paste etc.)

So, now I am at the point where if I am lucky and patient, I can get an ODT
file to open and work up to a point. Then the recent hangs starts back to 1 per
3-5 seconds, and context switches (--- with only background stuff working - no
other apps, and with 5G free memory) would occur about 1000 time per second --
intense - made me proud to have a fast processor to allow that.

So now, it is still spurious, and I cannot nail it down much without knowing
the internals, having a test bench, etc. (I am an attorney with a major cmp sci
background).

It happens in both odt and docx, but seems?? to be more in docx. It occurs in
both 4.4.1.2 and 4.3.6.2 - really the same.

I don't know what logs would help. I have a deadline so I cannot worry too much
about this document until wednesday, and will use word for the

Open the forms and click with a mouse on the fields - events in non-editable
tabelcontrol never happen.

In the attached database are three form.
Every field in every form is connected to an event of the mouse (onmouseover,
onmouseclick ...)

1. Open Kontakte_Query_not_editable_Fields.
Move the mouse over the fields, click on the fileds. On every field the makro
is executed and a msgbox appears Event happened.

2. Open Kontakte_Query_not_editable_Tablecontrol.
Move the mouse over the fields, click on the fileds. No event happens, but the
same events are linked to the fields as in the first form.

3. Open Kontakte_Table_editable_Tablecontrol.
Move the mouse over the fields, click on the fileds. Events only happen if the
content of the field is selected. Could be this is a bug with the same reason.
You must click on a field and then the event of this field would happen by the
next click ore moving or something else.

The bug appears in all LO-versions I could test (First: LO 4.0.2.2). Couldn't
test the first 3.3, because it wouldn't start a form without a very old Java.

My System: OpenSUSE 13.2, 64bit rpm Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72337] Other: Unable to open document on a network share

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72337

--- Comment #32 from AntonioGM cor...@antoniogm.com ---
Hello Norbert,

My worries is that probably the right solution won't be just reverting this
commit as it solved an issue to others too, so it could require a more complex
solution.

Regards,

  Alias||CursorPosition

The cursor position should be displayed within the in status bar
(line-no. / x-measure-unit/ y-measure-unit), e.g.

l:8 | c:1 | x:8,54cm | y:21,8cm or
8 | 1 | 8,54 | 21,8 (short version if design-wise running out of space within
the status bar)

The measure values should be absolute values staring from the page borders
(0/0) if not, optionally, being made available in a configurable way.

This would bring major benefits with regard to creating and editing forms and
page layouts and, moreover, ease the everyday use of LibreOffice writer.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89920] New: inserting line break to cell from macro

2015-03-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89920

Bug ID: 89920
Summary: inserting line break to cell from macro
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tima...@gmail.com

Consider the following macro:
sub Main

my_cell = ThisComponent.Sheets(0).getCellByPosition(0,0)
my_cell.String = aa bb + chr(10) + cc dd

end sub
It will write to A1 cell on the first sheet:
aa bb
cc dd

It will be saved to ODS as:
  table:table-cell office:value-type=string
calcext:value-type=string
text:paa bb/text:p
text:pcc dd/text:p
  /table:table-cell
It is good. However, let's have aa bb cc dd in cell A1. Now we want to
replace consecutive spaces to line breaks. We cannot do this from UI, so let's
use a macro.
sub Main
rem --
rem define variables
dim document as object
dim dispatcher as object
rem --
rem get access to the document
document   = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
dispatcher = createUnoService(com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper)

rem --
dim args2(17) as new com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
args2(0).Name = SearchItem.StyleFamily
args2(0).Value = 2
args2(1).Name = SearchItem.CellType
args2(1).Value = 0
args2(2).Name = SearchItem.RowDirection
args2(2).Value = true
args2(3).Name = SearchItem.AllTables
args2(3).Value = false
args2(4).Name = SearchItem.Backward
args2(4).Value = false
args2(5).Name = SearchItem.Pattern
args2(5).Value = false
args2(6).Name = SearchItem.Content
args2(6).Value = false
args2(7).Name = SearchItem.AsianOptions
args2(7).Value = false
args2(8).Name = SearchItem.AlgorithmType
args2(8).Value = 1
args2(9).Name = SearchItem.SearchFlags
args2(9).Value = 65536
args2(10).Name = SearchItem.SearchString
args2(10).Value =  {2,}
args2(11).Name = SearchItem.ReplaceString
args2(11).Value = chr(10)
args2(12).Name = SearchItem.Locale
args2(12).Value = 255
args2(13).Name = SearchItem.ChangedChars
args2(13).Value = 2
args2(14).Name = SearchItem.DeletedChars
args2(14).Value = 2
args2(15).Name = SearchItem.InsertedChars
args2(15).Value = 2
args2(16).Name = SearchItem.TransliterateFlags
args2(16).Value = 1280
args2(17).Name = SearchItem.Command
args2(17).Value = 3

dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, .uno:ExecuteSearch, , 0, args2())

end sub
Please note, that the replacement text is the same chr(10) as in the first
macro. But in A1 we will see: aa bbcc dd. When we save it to ODS, we have
this xml in the file:
  table:table-cell office:value-type=string
calcext:value-type=string
text:paa bb
  text:line-break/
  cc dd/text:p
  /table:table-cell
So, we don't have two text:p elements, but the text:line-break/ between the
two lines. Unfortunately when LibreOffice reads this back, the line break
disappears forever. Interestingly saving to XLS and reload from that XLS
preserves the line break.

Expected behaviour: if chr(10) means line break in the cell, then it should
work in case of search and replace, too.

I did the test using NFS and Samba. Word can tell immediately that the file is
open in LibreOffice, and I cannot figure out how. If I lock the entire file for
writing, using fcntl, I get the same result.

If I lock the entire file for writing using LockFileEx (it does not provide a
way to lock the entire file), Word detects this after a few seconds. I cannot
figure out how it's possible to tell the difference between this and fcntl
using the Windows API.

I hate that I don't understand that difference, but even in the worst case
scenario (given what LO is doing) we should only hang for a few seconds. So I'm
going to say it's a Wine bug.

False. It has been marked resolved because you failed to reproduce it with the

The scrolling behaviour happens because the cursor is being positioned at the
end of the text on the page after clicking on the footer area and also because
the cursor position is off screen from the footer when the focus is changed.
