With Win maybe you have disable the option for show zero values in
Menu/Tools/LibreOffice calc/View

LibreOffice write window - black box

Any window appears as a black box with title bar on the latest version of
Windows 10 on the Surface Pro 4.  Windows are responsive to resizing and mouse
cursor still changes to reflect type of field that it is hovering over (even
though the user cannot see what it is hovering over).  This is true for (at
least) Math, Impress, Writer, and LibreOffice (general program launcher).

LibreOffice splash screen also appears as black box.

I don't get through the other bugs shown as a question of language.

I simply wanted to change the format of the chapter which lead to a crash
repeatedly.

More and more I guess updates are no good solution to keep computers running
properly. That happens on Win (from 7 to 10), Mac (from 10.10 to 10.11) and
also on programs like this one.

I'll turn back to the last version. Might be a senseful way.

I can't reproduce with Win10x64 LibreOffice 5.0.4

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.

Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file
"user/registrymodifications.xcu",  it affect all the options in
Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are
overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

I'm not familiar with the code (nor with palette, so please excuse me if this
is dumb), but in case the palette is imported (loaded to memory) into native
format, isn't that natural when loading from arbitrary location to browse for a
.ase/.gpl, then save its copy to LO config folder as .soc right away?

Hi @Rober,

It's possible to have different ranges with their sort properties.

You only nee to create a Menu/Data/Define range, Menu/Data/Select range, and
define their sort properties.

So for me if there is a place for the option it's the Sort properties.

Preferences > Calc > Formula

Set Detailed Calculation Settings = Custom working on a existing XLS file and
save the file.  Close and re-open the file.  Revert to = Default and save the
file.  Trying to set back = Custom won't trigger the file change.  Re-open
Preferences > Calc > Formula and Detailed Calculation Settings = Default.

In a existing ODF file Detailed Calculation Settings = Custom.  Don't know why,
not set by me.  Set to = Default triggers file change. Save the file.  Close
and re-open the file.  Preferences > Calc > Formula and Detailed Calculation
Settings = Custom again.

In a newly-created ODF file Detailed Calculation Settings = Default.  Save and
re-open the file.  Set = Custom.  Re-open Preferences > Calc >  and Formula
Detailed Calculation Settings = Default looks un-changed.  Save the file with
CTRL-S.  Close and re-open the file.  Now Preferences > Calc > Formula Detailed
and Calculation Settings = Custom looks updated.

Running LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 on Linux RHEL 6.7 64-bit.

Had a csv imported file with 63193 rows and 15 columns, last one of them on
date format. Then added a second sheet for formlulas and used vlookup. Now
trying to select array with mouse to include whole sheet ended up with total
hang. Kept mouse button pressed and cursor positioned for max speed somewhere
near to row 4, then moved cursor but kept left button still pressed to stop
scrolling but nothing happened. Waited till the selected area was near 6,
then released also the mouse button but still nothing happened, selected area
just kept growing and growing. Waited untill well over 110 000 rows were alreay
selected, then tried to switch focus to other windows but also on those mouse
was not responding, only keyboard was functional. End result much later was
non-responding Calc, which I had to force terminate.

The problem is caused by the "cached native control" changes; if I put the code
snippet in WinSalGraphics::drawNativeControl() that calls
TryRenderCachedNativeControl() into #if 0, the bug goes away.

Which LibreOffice version are you using?
You can export as PDF from File - Export as PDF.

Set to NEEDINFO.

Using version 4.4.7, I can confirm that this bug is still there. Writer behaves

I've never had this problem on OSX, so can't confirm.

To be more precise, it currently takes 3 clicks and some precise mouse
movements to click "OK" and reopen the window for further editing.

I would suggest that the validating of the removal would still require the
click of the "OK" button, but that the Manage window would keep it's edited
state for as long as it is open. So that the user could remove and edit
conditions for as long as is needed, and all the edits would be either
cancelled or confirmed only when the window is closed. Currently the removals
are cancelled when another window opens on top.

Test file demonstrating sorting problem

When searching with vlookup date, then copying data without formulas to te new
sheet, sorting does not work correctly. Check the attached ODT test file with 3
sheets: "List" containing formulas, which are searching data from the
"Inventory" sheet and "Summary" sheet is a result of "copy/paste special" of
"List" with only Text, Numbers, Date and Formats included. Now sorting
"Summary" sheet by "Contact" seems to be incorrect:
- Cells with empty value have changed to show 30.12.1899
- non-existing "host" cells showing correctly #N/A
- Cells with existing Date value showing correctly

When trying to sort now by "Contact", only the cells with existing Date value
seems to be sorted correctly. #N/A and originally empty but now with bogus date
value filled cells doesn't seem to be sorting at all.

To reproduce:
- new impress
- draw a CustomShape, keep it selected
-> neither in context menu, nor in main menu is the slot for 'Text...'

This is bad since that settings are imminent for text formatting in the sense
of aligmnent. Especially since e.g. at pptx import, custom text shapes get
created where you can no longer edit these alignments.

In the same version in Impress that slot is available for own text shapes
(insert Text Field, F2).
In the same version in Draw that slot is available for CustomShapes in main
menu Format/Text...
In the same version in Writer that slot is available for CustomShapes in main
menu and context menu.
In the same version in Calc that slot is available for CustomShapes in main
menu and context menu.

Dokument with bookmark replacement macro

The attached document contains the bookmark 'bookmark' and the following macro,
which should replaces the bookmark.

bm = ThisComponent.bookmarks.getByName("bookmark")
range = bm.Anchor
cursor = range.getText().createTextCursorByRange(range)

range.Text.removeTextContent(bm)

newBm = ThisComponent.createInstance("com.sun.star.text.Bookmark")
newBm.setName("bookmark1")

' Destroys the bookmark end mark!
cursor.getText().insertString(cursor, ".", true)

The replacement works, but the insertString actually destroys the bookmark end
mark.
The saved document misses the broken "bookmark1".

This is probably related to the same regression then bug 90816.
At least it looks the same.

Actually the code:

cursor.getText().insertString(cursor, ".", true)

is just a workaround for an other problem we found when switching from OOo
3.2.1 to LibreOffice 3.6. WollMux works again, if the workaround is removed.
In the end it's still a bug in LO and probably also AOO.

My first guess would be that this is caused by some very local problem on the
specific machine. jankyy, do you have access to any other Mac? Do you see the
same problem in that? Can you think of anything that would be special with the
Mac where you see this problem? You talk about "German language package", does
that mean that you installed a German language package in addition to
LibreOffice Vanilla? (That should not be necessary, the App Store builds
already contain several user interface languages including German.) (Note:
several questions, please answer them all...)

In a very long document, it would be helpful if you could restrict the
Find search to be only within comments.

As it is, I wanted to find something, but had to scan manually, because I could
form no search that didn't produce more hits on the main text than the
comments.

Maybe for the UI you could change the Comments checkbox to a radio button
selecting between options: Including Comments / Only Comments?

I am experiencing a similar problem. I have a list of names and addresses in a
spreadsheet. I start the File_>New->Labels dialog. I setup the database to
point to the spreadsheet and the table containing my data. I transfer the
fields I want to use into the template in inscription using an Avery J8165
Label. The format matches the J8165 labels I am using. In the options tab I
select Entire page and syncronize contents, then select New Document. In the
new document which is created I add an image (logo) to the top of the first
label select it and then syncronise labels. On a first attempt to print, either
to file or a printer I did not get a file created or any print job created. As
per comment below I selected View_>Datasources and checked that the selected
spreadsheet and table were appearing as the data source. After selecting the
top left cell and selecting all records and pressing the Data to Fields button,
and then reprinting the file selecting No to the dialog about printing a form
letter,  I managed to get a the first page printed out correctly but the 6
records on a second page did not print. I then repeated the above steps
(View_>Datasources etc) and attempted to print to file using the Yes to the
question about printing a form letter, selecting all records and print to file,
entering a filename in the save dialog and saving. No file is produced. 

By going back to the View_>Datasources, selecting the remaining records and
repeating the print procedure which had worked for the first page I also
managed to print the remaining records.
This is definitely not working as per the documentation which is also fairly
unclear on the differences between selecting Yes and No in the dialog which
comes up re using Mail Merge to print a form letter. I fail to see why this
dialog is even necessary as if one is printing Labels using the Label wizard it
is pretty clear one does not want to print a form letter. I guess the mail
merge procedure is being used to create the Labels from the Label template
created.  This just cost me three hours in processing orders.

Can reproduce on Windows, in the 5.1 branch. As comment #1 says, always
rendered as a "minus", even when should be a "plus".

Test file demonstrating copy /paste special problem

Running LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 on Linux and LibreOffice 5.0.4.1 on 64-bit Windows
7.

When searching with vlookup date, then copying data without formulas to the new
sheet, empty cells gets converted to 30.12.1899. Check the attached ODT test
file with 3 sheets: "List" containing formulas, which are searching data from
the "Inventory" sheet and "Summary" sheet is a result of "copy/paste special"
of "List" with only Text, Numbers, Date and Formats included. 
- Cells with empty value have changed to show 30.12.1899
- non-existing "host" cells showing correctly #N/A
- Cells with existing Date value showing correctly

implement the basic hatching.
It is not perfect and the patterns 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 24 are bogus
emulation, just to have some fill, but I will consider this bug closed and
improvements with patches can be done in a new bug :)
BTW, some patterns will have to be emulated by inverting the background and
foreground colours.

I resolved as a duplicate of #95639 as appears to be OPenGL issue not the
actual device (Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book). I hope that was the correct

OpenOffice 2.0 has save and load for solver but LibreOffice 5.0.2.2 does not.

The solver settings are basic maths language and could be saved or exported as
a text file.

I have written maths solutions using lp_solve in FreeBSD in a maths language -
objective function, decision variables, constraints.

See this for the language:

I discovered this when OpenOffice 2.0 crashed and a maths language of
constraints etc was listed.

So the file does not have to be saved in ODF but plain text file. This is a
script not a data file.

If you won't change the GUI, have a text format that anyone can edit and view
or replace solver with a plugin where the plugin writer can export and import
settings.

Or the script could be serialized and stored in a blob and reloaded when the
file is loaded.

The apathy is staggering.

I tried to hack the binary file but could not find the solver data in there so
it is only in memory till the application closes.

Outsource the data file to the plugin if you won't be bothered fixing this.

So back to writing down the objective function, decision variables and
constraints on paper and re-entering whenever I run a LibreOffice solver
solution. So daggy.

Attached is an .xls file in html format. The file contains two columns:Bank
Account Number and ID Card Number. We expect these two fields to be "text"
type. 
However, when open with LibreOffice Calc, the cells are showing float point
numeric values. In Microsoft Office and WPS Office the cells are showing as
"text" types as expected.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached xls file in Calc;
2. Observe the cell values. 
--> They are showing as numeric. We expect the cells to be "text" values.

In form design mode, drag'n drop a table control. It moves, but flickers.

For example in attachment 118555.

Between 5.0.0 and 5.0.3 inclusive it hangs instead, but that is not this bug,
but bug 94069. In 5.0.4.2 (and for some range in master) it does not flicker,

valgrind log with buggy pdf production, interrupted after 30 minutes

On pc Fedora x86-64 with latest 5.0.3.2 version from Fedora repositories, I
attached Valgrind trace.

I had to stop it after 45 minutes because I had to go. The process of pdf
production was about 40%, but I can run it again for the missing logs if
needed.

Now tested also under LibreOffice 4.2.8 running on Linux RHEL 6.7 64-bit, same
behavior there. 

Difference between Linux and Windows seems to be that at least on 5.0.4.1 on
Windows 7 64-bit those empty Date cells on the first sheet collected with
VLOOKUP show up correctly as empty but under Linux versions 4.2.8 and 5.0.3.2
those already show date 30.12.1899 when cell is configured as Date or 0, if
cell format is text/general.

After copy / paste special all versions have changed those empty cells
incorrectly to 0 / 30.12.1899.

There is nothing special with my machine afaik. No changes in system fonts or
other troubles...
And yes, I do have an older MacBook and will try the same thing there.

I think you're right with Vanilla - there was no installing of language packs.
I did that with the previous (non-Vanilla) builds from the homepage.
However, I removed the old builds with AppCleaner and did a recent re-install
of the Vanilla version, with the very same problem...

What is the correct procedure to test this bug?

I ran the Path2URL macro and it said
A Scripting Framework error occurred while running the Basic script
Standard.Module1.Path2URL.

Message: wrong number of parameters!

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.
