[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 32935] CSV import dialog doesn't get focus if libreoffice is already running
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32935 --- Comment #36 from Gareth--- The essence of the bug (or misfeature) is that the dialog is attached to the wrong window. When any CSV or HTML file is right clicked in Windows Explorer and 'Open with... LibreOffice Calc' selected (a) if LibreOffice is not running: (i) The Import Dialog opens with no parent window, at the top of the Z order, i.e. on top of the Explorer window from which it was called. (ii) If OK is clicked on the Import Dialog, a Calc window opens. (iii) If Cancel is selected, LibreOffice quits. In other words, correct behaviour. (b) if LibreOffice is running (i) the Import Dialog opens with some existing LibreOffice window as its parent. This need not be a Calc window: it will attach to e.g. a Writer window if any is open. (ii) In no case does the Import Dialog or its parent window come to the top of the Z-order. Even if its parent is the topmost window other than the calling Explorer window, the dialog remains underneath the Explorer window. If the parent window happens to be deeper in the Z-order, the dialog is completely hidden, with no clue to the user that it is there. In other words, the bug/misfeature is exercised. It looks like potentially a very simple fix. The Import Dialog just needs to open with no parent even if LibreOffice is already running. I would expect it to involve no more than changing a parent window reference to null for both kinds of import dialog. If you wish me to raise a separate bug report for the HTML Import Dialog, please let me know. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84535 --- Comment #12 from John van Someren--- I will NEVER get the hang of this web site... I downloaded text from a web siteso that I could see it in screen. I chose The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin from www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/76, viewed using Google Chrome. I selected several paragraphs, Copy'd then and pasted them into a New Writer document. I made sure that Format | Autocorrect was set to change straight single and double quotes to curly ones and selected Format | Autocorrect | Apply. Writer did not apply the autocorrect changes for the quotes. This bug is also present in the standard version as well as the Portable version. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 96628] New: Some dialog box labels (e.g. Format, Page, PageStyle, second item) have unreadable text in Writer, Calc, Impress
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96628 Bug ID: 96628 Summary: Some dialog box labels (e.g. Format, Page, PageStyle, second item) have unreadable text in Writer, Calc, Impress Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.3.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: harveymod...@yahoo.com Created attachment 121448 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=121448=edit Example of an unreadable dialog box label In menu dialog boxes such as format page, format character, and others, some of the labels are totally unreadable. Example: in Writer-Format-PageStyle-Organizer, the first label is "Page" and third label is "Inherit From" but second label is a heavy black typeface of unreadable characters. I see this problem on many settings dialog boxes. I tried resetting my profile by quitting the LibreOffice apps, deleting the directory ~/.config/libreoffice, then re-launching any LibreOffice app such as Calc; however, that does not resolve the problem. I tried changing Tools-Options-View settings such as Scaling and antialiasing on/off/from, but that does not resolve the problem.
