[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101110] Menu entry to execute commands by name
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101110 --- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski --- (In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #2) > Please, could you describe a use-case showing that what you propose could be > easier to use than adding your preferred but missing command in a menu or a > toolbar? Wow. :) The often-used commands are, of course, better placed to a toolbar/sidebar, there's no doubt. But the full commands repertoire cannot be represented on toolbars, and even in menus. There are several main problems that this proposal could solve. 1. When I want to use some rarely-used command. :) For a power user, that knows of some less-used functionality but useful in some situations, this is surely often encountered situation. One single rare command may be required once a year, but there's another one, and another, too much of them. 2. When I want to maximize usable screen space, like using new single toolbar. So, the toolbar space is not too huge. 3. When I don't know (remember) where the command is (menu/toolbar) and what its icon is, but searching by (part of) command's name will show me its icon and (hopefully) will show me its position on menu. Further, I may not remember its correct name, I may enter a word "capitals", and each command having a good description and growing dictionary of aliases, I'll be presented with "Format->Text->UPPERCASE" and "Format->Text->Capitalize Every Word" commands, and also "Format->Character" with help section describing its Font Effects, and Character Styles in that context. This way, anyone will find it easier to find commands for requested functionality, easier to learn and enhance proficiency. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Yes this is a way to avoid the problem in the first place, and is really very clever thought out. OTOH people expect that a format function does what it sais it does. Under 5.1 the tip is: SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...) Under 5.2 the tip changes depending on the cursor position: SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...):The range from wich the values are to be totalled. SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...):Range1,range2,... are the ranges to be evaluated by the criteria given. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101415] FILESAVE FILEOPEN CSV linebreaks in LINUX
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101415 --- Comment #3 from Andreas Scholz --- Sorry, first I should say, that the main reason for my posting of this report was more a feature request than a bug report. I thought the reason for my problem were the different linebreaks in Windows and Linux. They aren't, as I know now. I didn't recognize the problem on my old Windows machine yet. But while creating the testfile for this report, I tried it on both machines with the same result. My fault was the wrong setting of the text delimiter (single or double quotes). But it seems, as there is another problem. LO stores the last settings in the textimport window. That's nice and should remain this way. But the preview sometimes shows a wrong result. I created 2 almost identical csv-files. One with single quotes as text delimiter, one with double quotes. Field delimiter of both is semicolon. Content of the file "text_delimiter_double_quote.csv": "CellA1_line1[LF]CellA1_line2";CellB1[LF] CellA2;CellB2[LF] The other file similar, but with single quotes. I opened both alternating. For example with the former setting to single quotes I opened the file with the double quotes. The preview in the textimport window was wrong. It showed the decided import but the cell A1 became broken. See the attached screenshot. Now as I know this, I can work around it by clicking any setting so the preview shows what I'll get. Anyway - my real problem is, that a certain program I use makes csv-outputs with not correct text delimiters. In this case, I think, a new option of setting the various linebreaks could be helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78704 --- Comment #7 from John Statler --- I agree with comment #3, sometimes my file names are the same but for different clients and thus in different folders.
