OK: Found the real-problem - and this one is at maximum low prio:

My application offers the MathML code that renders maths on the clipboard as
"text/html" which is technically correct, but not this common.
Libreoffice doesn't automatically create an equation if it encounters MathML on
the clipboard (and so does MS Word) => It does do the best it can.

Bothersome when EDITING in Draw (more than Impress, where it is a problem also)
the image jumps when clicking on an element.  Attempts to select usually miss
on the first (several) attempts when going to text from icon or reverse.  
Would be great if toolbars could be fixed in place, not depend on the current
selection to appear or not.  Or, just hold the image when a toolbar appears or
disappears.

In addition to occuring with a split window, the bug also occurs when the
clicked reference is in another window (showing the same document or another
document).  It occurs with "click to focus" as well as with the "focus follows
mouse" policy (using Compiz, the standard window manager in Ubuntu 14.04).

Seems I spoke too soon. Opening LibreOffice today, it said that it had to
recover my file. Now it's not saving, giving "Error in writing sub-document

A pure gray table with banded rows

I have created it with a Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+

The example shows some features like banded rows and separate styles for the
corner cells.

To apply the table template to your own table, open the attached document and
then find the table template in the Table section of the Style pane
in the sidebar.

I think it is misleading to name it "table style", because it is not a style
for a table, but a "table template" is a set of references to table cell
styles.

I think, that the current implementation produces invalid ODF, so it is too
early to make final templates. Unfortunately there was no interest on dev to
discuss that.

I have written a file with outline numbering and saved. File is still open.
I have opened a new document.
I open the navigator in the new document and select the saved (inactive)
document. I see its headings.

I set the behavior to "Hyperlink" and drag a heading from the Navigator to the
new document. I get a hyperlink with the heading text as link text.

I set the behavior to "Link" and drag a heading from the Navigator to the new
document. I get a section, which shows the whole chapter of this heading.
Opening the section in menu Format, I see, that the content is linked.

I set the behavior to "Copy" and drag a heading from the Navigator to the new
document. I get a section, which shows the whole chapter of this heading.
Opening the section in menu Format, I see, that the content is not linked, but
indeed inserted as copy.

It works with the attached documents as well.

So for me the feature works in Writer without problems. Something special for
Mac?

MSO has 43 autoformat table styles, where only 1 of them are shown by default,
and 14 new table styles and 6 document theme-colored variants of those new
table styles (total is 99 :D). It makes perfect sense to provide colored
variants of table styles as

1) most users arent creative enough to colorize table styles (i include myself
in that category)
2) modifying table styles isnt an easy task that novice users (benjamin) would
be able to do or advanced users (eve) would want to do
3) the point of presets is to simplify the amount of changes the user has to
make

We definitely dont need 7 variants of each table style design, but having 3 or
4 of each would be beneficial (1 black/white and 2 or 3 colorized).

This "FIXED" bug just caused me to lose about an hour of work on a current
master build on Ubuntu 16.04. Since Bug 48783 only fixed this for a subset of
users, I'm using this to track the Ubuntu and gtk2 users who are still affected
by this bug. 

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use an Ubuntu build or start with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk ./soffice
2. Select and copy some text in LibreOffice Writer.
3. Close Writer as well as any other instances of LO.
4. Paste the content in a text editor or any other application

Tested versions:
Version: 5.1.4.2 Build ID: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1

Calc in Android 5.0.1 on new phone.  Multi-sheet xlsx file made with Office
2013.

After screen unlock, or return to LO after using other app's, LO does not keep 
position.  It goes back to the first sheet in the workbook.

I expect that if sheet z xn:ym was visible, the same area will be visible when
LO resumes.  Instead, it seems to resume with sheet 1 xn:ym.  That's another
unexpected behavior.  I expect the previously visible range of the sheet to be
shown when I return to that sheet.  Not the range that was shown on the
previously active sheet.

When a different sheet is selected (from the Parts list), it may not load. 
Nothing changes.  It may require a few attempts.  When the sheet is changed, it
may not render completely.  It may stay entirely or partially blurred. 
Usually, zoom or scroll causes the rendering to complete.

OK have done so. This is what I did:

Created a new .odt text document. It uses builtin standard Heading 1 Heading 2
Heading 3 and Text Body paragraph styles.

I then duplicated this file and manually edited it so that all styles and
outline numbering would be the same. The text I altered indicating how the
various hyperlinks and copied sections were created.

Since others responding to this are using the same OS and version of LO, I
wonder if one of the following might explain:

1. different settings or user profiles on the underling OS?

2. different basic settings on the user's LibreOffice?

otherwise I have no idea why the behavior persists for me but others can't
duplicate.

Do you mean that when text with the list style has the focus, and you choose to
see character styles in the side bar, that then your custom character style is
not highlighted, i.e. you do not see that it is used?

Please find a way together :-)


Usually LanguageTool (an grammar checking extension) highlights double spaces.
But if there's an automatic line break in LibreOffice, right at the double
spaces, no blue underline is visible.

You can tell that LanguageTool is recognizing an double space error on that
position by navigating to it with the text cursor and pressing the context menu
button (or shift F10) on your keyboard. It'll give you the usual LanguageTool
context menu, telling you that there are are multiple spaces.


Tested with:

OS: openSUSE 13.2 Linux x86_64, system language is german
(KDE, but running LibreOffice with OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome environment variable
set)

LibreOffice 5.1.3.2 (64 bit)

My regedit has no opendocument entry under HKLM\Software\Classes. And no
localized entry. There were heavy changes for 4.x that may have fixed the
issue. Closing as WFM.

If this issue still exists it would be a valid bug in my opinion, especially
for the admin scenario. The configuration must not contain localized text.

I'm a bit confused, column N depends on other columns as well, apart from B,
why should they be proportionate?

Before I look into the numbers, what did you add exactly to get 97.49? I do see
that the sum of N2:N45 is 97.57.

Note that there is indeed some rounding in displaying values, if I format cells
to display with 4 decimal digits, N18 becomes 0.0720 for example, and the sum
shows 97.5730 (despite the rounded values, I'd assume Calc uses the "exact"
numbers for the calculations).

as the default. In some situations it makes sense, e.g. for images that
shouldn't get distorted, but in other cases it's too much UI-noise, e.g. page
size.

The sum of numbers for column B, and, the sum of numbers for column N are
disproportionate.

In any case when I added up the numbers using a calculator (KARCE KC 328) the
sum of column is 97.49 EUR which indicates a rounding problem as when I
highlighted the numbers the sum displayed is 97.57 EUR.

In some applications rounding can make a difference, so I need to understand
the accuracy involved.

Export allows to save a document in alien formats, e.g. a PNG. That will never
be handled with LibreOffice. And the PDF would be opened for editing in Draw,

This is probably not a bug, but an enhancement request.

I believe that .doc and .docx formats do not have a feature matching
allow-table-to-split-across-pages. Therefore the best that LO can do is emulate
that behaviour using other means. As of 5.2, this emulation exists for multiple
rows, but doesn't apply to this particular example since this is only one row.

If you had simply disabled allow-row-to-break-across-pages-and-columns (without
setting that for the entire table), then it would have exported as you
expected.

This bug is so annoying.
The only way to avoid it is too choose a size of 101%.

If I choose a size of 100% of the inherited font of 13 pt, LO will record 13pt.
If I choose a size of 101% of the inherited font of 13 pt, LO will record 101%.

Why ??

I fully agree with Heiko. Hundreds of examples are of no use. A few efficient
templates showing what can be done using LibreOffice are a better way, IMO.

A call to the community to provide some examples/templates is the way to go as
well.

To reproduce the bug :
Create a custom character style.
In a list style, choose your custom character style for numbering.
Apply this style somewhere in your document.
Now if you choose in the style side panel, «used style» in the list box, then
you will not see your characters style, even if it is used (inside your list
style).

I realize this message is quite incomprehensible, and my so bad english will
not help. Do not hesitate to ask me some details.

I believe that Word does not have an option to prevent a table from splitting. 

So, LibreOffice needed to emulate that behaviour, which was re-implmeented in
5.2.  The SETTING table->textFlow.allow-table-to-split-across-rows-and-columns
is not preserved (instead, each row is set to keep with next), but the LAYOUT
effect is the same.

duplicate of bug 91083 - fixed in 5.2 for .doc and .docx.

A remaining enhancement could be recognizing the emulation on import, removing
the keep-with-next-row setting, and disabling allow-table-to-split.
