Bug is still present with current build of Libreoffice (5.2.1.2).

Hangs for a few minutes when trying to save a document into the same directory
as the alias of a non-accessible network, then does finally realise that the
network volume is not accessible and resumes normal operation.

Confirmed using the attached bugtest.ods spreadsheet.

Modified a cell on sheet one. From the modified cell searched for "hive"

Data from the starting cell was copied into the same line on sheet three.

Please fix this. It's nearly invisible data corruption that users may not see
for days. It took me a year to narrow down what was happening.

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101898

Is it really an unconfirmed bug?

No doubt there is something "special" about the strucure of my system and that
of the other guy who reported it but it is likely that others out there have
the same experience as me.

It's a rather irritating bug because if one doesnt take care to manage the
autosave properties of LibreOffice the little feller will try to save for you
and hang the system which can be, uh, less than desirable when the net effect
is appropriately analyzed.

It's an excuse for superfluity of profanity if one is seeking such things.

Sorry, no seat of JAWS. I'll have to check with our Accessibility services

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39400] First Page of first paragraph' s copy problem because propery Text Flow > Break is set..

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39400

Tested in the following environment:
Win 8.1 x86-64
Version: 5.2.1.2
Build ID: 31dd62db80d4e60af04904455ec9c9219178d620

Observations are as follows:

1. When setting page style of the first page, the first paragraph gets a page
break set. It is set even if the same page style is applied again to the same
page. It is set for any page style, not just First Page. It is set only on the
very first paragraph of the document (tested with setting page style on page 2
with text flown there, no paragraph change was experienced).

2. When copying the whole paragraph, page break is inserted.

3. When copying some letters from the first paragraph, pasting doesn't insert
page breaks any more.

Observation 1 happens for unknown reason. If there is an issue, the issue is
this.
Observation 2 is working as designed.
Observation 3 shows that the original report is resolved.

I suggest to close the bug as fixed and either report Observation 1 as a new
bug or document it to make it working as designed.

Well i guess my issue boils down to a user being able to modify all the various
placeholder textboxes and their styles interactively in master slide mode
except for subtitle, where they would have to use the styles sidebar in order
to modify it.

We have the 'object area for autolayouts' placeholder textbox which occupies
the same space used by the subtitle textbox in Title Slide layout, but the
textbox doesnt have a first line with text like 'Click to edit the subtitle
text format', so a user could get easy access to modifying it.

Not having an easily accessible interactive means of modifying the subtitle in
master slide mode is bad UX and something the average user wont discover as the
only means to modify it is in a dialog.

So i guess we can reopen this bug to address this issue, or we can start up a
new bug about it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102317] New: UI: Changing language does not remove spelling errors

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102317

Bug ID: 102317
Summary: UI: Changing language does not remove spelling errors
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.1.2 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vik...@troja.ch

Setting the language for all the text using

Tools -> Language -> For all text

does not remove the red wave lines from under correctly spelled words. This
seems to be a UI issue since there no longer is an option to correct the
allegedly misspelled words.

In my specific case, German is the default language and I tried to change the
language of the document to English when I encountered this bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73273] presenter console: slide transition jumpy ( on dual screen display)

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73273

I just downloaded the latest .deb

Version: 5.2.1.2
Build ID: 31dd62db80d4e60af04904455ec9c9219178d620

with this version it is even worse. Not only is the short pause in the
animation still present, there is now an additional white flash over the
whole screen at the beginning *and* end of the animation (if there is an
animation in the slide transition; slides without a special transition still
work fine, as they always did).

Running on a Lenovo Thinkpad X220, Debian wheezy with backports from
official debian and debian backports repo. Secondary display is
connected to the VGA output.

regards,
  Stephan

This bug is still present in LibreOffice 5.2.0.4 running on Windows 7
Whenever I try and edit a document in LibreOffice that has graphics in it that
were created in MS Word, there is a chance that the graphics will be messed up.
Things have got better over the last 11 years, but I still can not use
LibreOffice confidently when sharing documents with colleagues.

Dear Julien:

I followed the instructions of the link you supplied and had to install
soffice-common. However, after requesting a backtgrace I get the following
errror:

Error: Can't find the tool "gdb", --backtrace option will be ignored.

The LO version is 5.2.1.2.

I have now successfully opened files stored in the machine's SSD and also
directly from my Google Drive account. I decided to clear the list of opened
files and retested without any problems.

Could the installarion of soffice-common be the cure?

I'll keep on testing and inform you of the results. Same if the problem
reappears.

Thank you

Héctor

Hmm - so ... interesting 4.2x is before any OpenGL work; I am encouraged that
instead of being 1 CPU at 100% that (apparently) our/my multi-threaded image
scaling is now maxing out four of your CPUs ;-) which should make things around
4x faster.

I imagine this is yet-another artifact of the drawing-layer's love of
re-interpolating huge images per frame or part of frame rendered - but hard to
know without a profile.

Please remove NEEDINFO when there is a callgrind profile taken for a build with
debuginfo installed - that is >= LibreOffice 5.1.0.

Thanks !

Wondering if this might be related to an issue of corrupted LibreOffice writer
files that we are experiencing on MacOS X 10.11.6 with LO 5.1.5.2.

After an OS update from MacOS X 10.9.5 to 10.11.6 we are experiencing corrupted
LibreOffice writer documents.

The issue appears to pertain to writer documents counting tables.

When opened in LO 5.1.5.2 on Macos X 10.11.6 the document renders as gibberish.
The documents were normal on MacOS X 10.9.5 with LO 5.1.5.2

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73590] FORMATTING: ODF imported paragraph style can not override only margin-top or -bottom with zero

2016-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73590

The problem with a single fo:margin-nnn setting is still there.

If LO writes the file itself, it writes always fo:margin-bottom and
fo:margin-top together. That hides the parent value.

In contrast to the combining attribute fo:margin, it is allowed, that only one
of the four possible settings is used and it does not automatically include
other sides.

The differentiation of all files is made for instance in GIMP with "All images"
vs. "All files". For Insert > Image we call it " (*.bmp, *)",
which is a mess by the way.

My suggestion is "All files" (*) and "Text Documents (*.odt, *.doc, *.docx...)"
(if there are not too many entries).

Putting all together we should find another label (cc Sophie) but have also all
files to show whatever is found in the folder. And this is clearly an EASYHACK
(waiting for the final decision).

PS: Insert > Document... is the command.

different Cells have different Font size!

I reproduced this on LO-Writer Version: 5.0.3.2 Build ID:
1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2
Locale: de-DE (en_GB.UTF-8)

As well as with the latest downloadable portable version for Windows Version
5.2.1.2

The behaviour seems to me as 100% consistently reproducible if you always
follow the same steps.

Usecase: you want to make the text in the second row smaller than in the first
row quickly.

There is a difference in behavior, which seems to depend on the way you select
the Cells of a row. I will describe them both

Steps to Reproduce:
--
1. Have an empty Document
2. Add a Table by using the toolbar button. Make the table at least 3 Rows and
3 Columns
3. Add any text to every Column

4-A:

Now Select the second row, by clicking and holding the FIRST Cell in the second
row and dragging your Mouse to the RIGHT.

4-B:

Now Select the second row, by clicking and holding the LAST Cell in the second
row and dragging your Mouse to the LEFT.

5. Use The Font Increase or Decrease Tool
6. Make sure selection is not changed. Use the Font Increase or Decrease Tool
(but make sure you use the same again as in Step 5!)
7. Check result

Expected Results:
--
1. Document is Empty
2. An empty Table is created with 3 rows and 3 columns
3. Text can be added to every cell

4. The Row can be selected either way as described in A or B

5. Depending on which tool you used, each Text in Each column of Row 2 is
increased or decreased.
6. Again, each text in each column of Row 2 is increased or decreased

Actual Result:
--
Step 1 to 4 => Fine everything works as expected

5.

If Selection was made using Step 4-A only the Text of the First Cell, i.e. the
left most column in Row 2 is increased or decreased

If the selection was made using Step 4-B - and now ladies and gentlemen it gets
tricky - only the Text in the second Cell from the right corner is increased.

If the Table is 3x3, it will be the Cell in the middle (Row 2, Column 2).
If the Table is 3 Rows, 4 Columns (3x4), it will be the Cell in Row 2, Column 3
If the Table is 3 Rows, 5 Columns (3x5), it will be the Cell in Row 2, Column 4

6. All selected text is increased or decreased, works fine, if you just analyse
this step as a single step without the steps before.

While i started playing around, i found even more possibilities of this Tool
not working when rows or part of Tables are selected in different ways.

Multi Rows:
---
When you have 4 Rows and select the two middle rows (i.e. 2 and 3). It not only
depends in which direction (left / right) you select the columns, but also
which row you select first.

It also makes a difference if you first select the first column of row 3, go up
one cell and then go right to select the full two rows. I'm not writing a
lengthy description of all possibilities...

Multiple Cell text select:

If you select lets say the text of 2 different cells by using the CTRL key and
selecting the text (not the actual cell), the first use of the
increase/decrease tool does not work at all. The second use then changes both
cells properly.

What matters is: not all cells are updated - but interestingly this works on
the Second Use of the tool, but still, the cell that was the only cell being
updated in the first step needs to be changed again because it is
increased/decreased one step to much.

No, do not filter export to XHTML, rather use the save-as HTML. Preferred HTML
formatting is maintained for WYSIWYG behavior.

Or if you do filter export to XHTML, you can simply edit (in a text editor) the
embedded CSS

On pc Debian x86-64 with LO Debian package 5.2.1, I don't reproduce this.

Does it crash on a brand new file with a comment or just with a specific file?
Also, take a look to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps, it may
help.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79023] ScCompiler slowness ...

Hi Eike,

Whoot - nice work - thanks for that ! =) a nice win - hopefully with the
FastParsing for ODS we'll get another win here too in a bit ...

> Loading a test document containing 1000 formulas with only numeric constants,
> =12345.6789 and =123.456 alternating to not hit the formula grouping,
> so 1000 calls to ScCompiler::CompileString()

I forget if we do the look-ahead formula parsing that is so effective with XLSX
in the ODS case - which was a huge win for XLSX (I hope so).

Anyhow - should we close this one ? =)

This wont always work well as the size of the combobox is small and it
sometimes cant even hold the characters of a single font (e.g. Linux Libertine
Display G), so users wont see the bracket substitution, i guess unless the
bracket substitution will also appear in the drop down menu.

So i'd recommend placing it both in the text field of the combobox and in the
tooltip.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69690] EDITING: Frame Gradient

The lists are filled now, but you still need two steps. You cannot set the area
filling immediately when creating the frame. Tested with Version:
5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: ba269f7294e2416659011cbb498a2c6b5f9d5199

If you change the frame style to have a gradient, the newly created frame will
get that filling.

I set it to low priority, because there exists two easy workarounds.
